yeah, but ft, he has a point, you dont want to go out to a garden that is dying from overheating from a blocked cooling intake, go out to find out whats going on and get bitten by a poisonous snake or 20!

you might consider a 1/4" or 1/2 inch mesh metal screen to keep the critters out mounted over the end my friend!

Jb - Sleepy ,
thanks for droping past again to see how im doin, ill leave the ac screen on the flumeing for the time being and see how the temps go. :joint:

id idealy like to hopefully leave it on due to the large number of bugs about, and seeing the intake is basically out in the vegie garden next to the garden of goodness theres lots of canna chewing bugs about.! :badday:

soooo, slip on the wollen socks and take a stroll through the room when ever you feel like it friends,i'll be continueing to up-date the thread through-out the entire grow.

it has started at the begining, from the conseption of extending the room and re/fitting it correctly thanks to my wonderfulll friends such as your selfs :woohoo:

to hopefully a sucessfull finished grow at the end. :yoinks: :yoinks:

Kindest Regards,FT

dont get me wrong ft, im telling you to use bath, not remove the other one! the blockage problem i was talking about would be snakes curled up in your nice cool dark intake! if you add a second screen to the outside of the tube they cant get in to block it up and the fine mesh screen you have on now will prevent the insects!

Father Time

Ooooooooooh,
me underconstumbel now... :bat: :bat:

Thanks Friends,
so lovely to have to all drop by :woohoo:

The temps converted are as of yesterdays trails.

at the hottest part of the day yeaterday outdoor temp was 89.6F the room was at the same time 70F %40 humidity.

with lights out and room checked at 3am this morning, the room had dropped to 57.2F but the humidity had risen for some reason (maby because the lights wher not running to burn off the moisture form the AC Units  )

im thinking the de-humidifyer is about to be fitted :dueling: hehehe.

anyhow, thats where where at so far, will fit the heat sheilds to the lights today and work uot some form of watering system. :chin:

Kindest Regards,FT

I am cotinually amazed by your attention to detail mate. Great work!!
Just a few questions/suggestions for ya....
Are you planning on running your lights at night? I find it to be far the most efficient way of doing things- you won't be working your A/Cs as hard and your humidity will stay much more constant. A/Cs are spose to reduce moisture in the air, not add to it. I'd say the main reasons your humidity spiked is-
(1. Its generally more humid during the night
(2. And your lights were off, its amazing how much moisture the lights burn up.

I'm with ya on the de-huey though, in every flower room I've ever had or helped setup, this has been a major priority. My mate that I hooked ya up with will be able to sort ya out with one if ya need it. Personally, I'd prolly go with the 20L/day model for your room.

What do ya mean by heat shields? If they're what I'm thinking they are, I've never been a fan, but then again I've never tried 'em so I can't really comment too much. I'll be definatly watching to see what you reckon of 'em!

Now for the watering system. personally I like to keep it as simple as possible.
I have 4 reservoirs- new clones, mums, flowering clones, and one with just Rhizotonic and Cannazym. I mix the other reservoirs up for the heaviest-feeding strain. I then use the Rhizotonic/Cannazym reservoir to dilute the nutrient to the individual’s preference. Each plant is hand-watered daily, and receives approx. 500ml of solution (for a 3(¾gal.) or 4 litre(1gal.) pot, other sizes, obviously, need more or less). Once a week I water with plain water.

Anyway dude, hope I've helped ya, more than cofused ya........
Just sent ya a PM, thought you might like to have a read......

try something simple my friend.... set your intake fan on the light timers so it shuts off at night. i find that sucking in cool moist air will drive your humidity higher than you like. try that and i think youll forget the dehumidifier!

Hey jonnybgood29,
You may be right dude, but after having ALOT of experience with rooms as big as FT's, and larger. I'd say doing what you recommended will only compound the problem. Plants perspire an awful lot of water, and with nowhere for it to go, it just builds up in the room. I've had friends with the same idea, and it didn't last very long, every time you walked into the room it'd be 80%+RH

J

jonnybgood29

yeah sorry i forgot.... i have a 5x9 1/2 ft room so it does work a little different, since his room is almost twice the grow area! and my humidity is always high in the summer no matter what time, but i have only gotten rot on one bud in the 1 1/2 years i have used this setup, go figure!
