Didnt find out about the old number, but got a price of 420 from someone today.

What shape are those used wings in? Are they the avengers or defenders? Do they come with lamp chords, if so how long?

Is the 128 for new units with or without lamp chord and socket?

I'll have to assmeble one of the used units and take a photo of it. It come with the lamp cord mogul.

The price $128 I'm 99% sure is for the large with mogul/lamp. They left a message on my phone as it was my day off but will double check tomorrow.

To tell you the truth I rarely sell fancy shades so will have to look into the difference between them.

I'll get the price for the 1000W De tomorrow. I'm pretty sure for that many I can get the price lower. Its just a matter of letting the wholesaler know how many and then work on the price with them.

I'm long ways from being able to pm will will repost or have someone contact you through pm with my details.

Anyone running alibaba sourced equipment? So cheap, but so sketchy...

New gavita's are to expensive for me atm, even wholesale(domestic) prices.

After talking to the sales guy there's not much savings for buying 50+ the lowest I could probably go is 410, they're gonna get back to me shortly with the final price and could probably get it drop shipped anywhere since shipping for that size will be free anyways.

Ill send you the Adjsut a wing info shortly

Pretty decent prices at iponiczone, thanks for sharing.

I found knock off or "night run" e-paps on alibaba, and gavita like reflectors but not full gavita's.

Huizhou Mingyu Hardware Equipment Co Ltd has the E-Paps for $150 moq of 50units.

As a store owner I try to avoid any non branded Chinese knock offs unless they are guaranteed by the wholesaler. I'm fucking sick of wholesaler bringing in shit products where a much better quality products would only cost $30 more per every $200 and last way longer.

Some store owners don't mind that users end up buying new stuff every year cause it didn't last long and now they have to spend money again when in reality that user will just use that money to buy more product anyways if they don't have to buy new ballasts every 12 months.

I am wondering the same thing about Alibaba. I could see them selling counterfeit nonsense, perhaps? Hopefully I am wrong. Prices look right anyway. Anyone else know anything about Alibaba?

Some sell quality some sell crap, figuring out whos got what is the game.

Not looking for knock offs but "night time runs" from the original factory. I thought gavitas werent made in china, but that never seems to hold true, Ortsa seems to know :D

A friend of mine owns one of the local wholesalers and they import in Chinese made products as their brand but even with a dedicated rep that knows how the Chinese companies work they've been burnt on products before.

In reality 98% of stuff will be made in China and there's nothing wrong with it but in this industry its always the lower common denominator for quality vs profit margins. Problem now is customers are used to cheaper pricing on the products and its hard to introduce something that will cost more but be more reliable/better quality.

the guys @ alibaba can knock off anything. something simple like ballasts will probably only have a fail rate of ~ 1-2%... serious electronics can reach upwards of 10% fail rate depending. the south koreans are crazy good.

so i would think an estimate of a 5% fail rate for lights/ballasts when doing the math is safe, for a container, and you good to go if the math works..

some do very good work

but if you put a alibaba gavita against a 'real' one, even if they look identical, test the umol/light output, i would suspect they would not be the same at all.

if you going to go down that route, get a sample unit sent over first, and test the light output. a shitty ballast/light in a sexy fixture defeats the whole point of going gavita

imho anyway

and, fyi 'the electronics are manufactured by Philips, the luminaire and reflector are designed and built by Gavita'
'product manufactured in the EU.. ' which probably means 95% is made in asia and assembled in holland to be able to put that on the box.. but I am unsure.

the 3 year warranty/quality is worth the extra $ imho.

let us know how it goes. good luck

Pangea: there's a vid on youtube i saw the other day featuring "Gavita Style" lighting system by an american company. Very similar to gavita, but apparently these DigiLume's as they're called, are re-designed for indoor growing applications moreso than the Gavita's, which are mainly designed with supplemental greenhouse lighting in mind AFAIK....

i have used lots of alibaba ballasts the fail rate was about 30% on the 600s per year and 5% on the 1000s

these were 35 dollar ballasts you can have them make higher quality ones if you wish but at 35 dollars or less they are consumables
