All due respect DI, but they look like pretty normal healthy sat leaning plants to me bro? All the things you mentioned are totally normal. Pale tips, stretching, skinny prongs...

Thanks immaculate, I figured I better take control now why I still got a fighting chance.

I remove leaves only when they're covering up bud sights. Yesterday she got a pretty good haircut. So far I have only pruned a few lower bud sights that weren't getting any light, but I'm probably going to prune a lot more once she starts flowering.

Hey there D.I.trY. thanks for the kind words! Its actually not right next to my head, I guess I was exagerating a bit, its on the other side of the room as far away as possible...but the room isn't very big.

I read that thread and I don't know much about 1000w HPSs but I don't thinkn I'm having those problems. Thanks for the heads up though, I'll sertainly keep an eye out for it. It's only been like 11 days into flower, so it's too early to tell maybe...

I don't just don't see any syptoms of heat stress. Temps never get above 84*, there is no light bleaching, no taco leaves, no upturned tips. I have a fan blowing on the bulbs and my exhuast fan is pulling more than 100cfm. I understand that heat is too easy to build up and can cause havick for MJ plants.

How long was the overall process for you? is there a way to trim down the time from birth to flowering and still have the same overall bud quality and yield per plant?

Tis may be true... maybe it is totaly normal for a sativa and in that case i apologise but when mine were still stretching after 3 weeks i was concerned hehe so just trying to spread a little knowledge i attained.

I know the thermometer does not raise alarm bells however this is part of the problem that baffled me. It wasn't a case of the air being too hot (well there may have been a bit of that) but rather that the bulbs were hot and the spectrum of the bulb emits alot more infrared. When ur cab is all closed up for some time and you open it and immediately touch the bulbs how hot are they?

Its a big challenge for us microgrowers to reduce IR - especially for those of us that have to keep noise at a minimum. In a tent or a room for a more conventional grow the lights can just be raised to diffuse the IR or there is ample space to put in an oscilating fan.

looking at this picture notice how at the grow tips the new leaves are very thin towards the base, like they are tyring to conserve water loss brought about by the IR radiation. There is also a yellowing at the core of the tip. Like I say, I had the exact same symptoms and the remedy was reducing IR. this is not a nutrient problem or a ph problem.

like you say its only 11 days into flower so we can see how it pans out until you decide if any action is necessary. However i suspect they will behave like my plants did and will carry on stretching like an absolute bitch and you will be wondering if it will ever stop!

I'll definately be watching this one and thankyou for the updates! best wishes.

I just opened the cabinet and checked all cfls, I can hold them no problem. The rate at which the white hairs are growing is really surprising me, though I don't think it's in full bloom mode yet. Either way, I'm certain that there is no issues with IR affecting growth. You are right about one thing though, that the growth tips are a very light green. But that might be caused by large changes in temp, or pH (which I'm should check into now that I think about it).

No worries man :) BTW I forgot to say nice job cozy on the training. Brilliant solution for small spaces.

Thanks you. :D

No, there really is no way to speed it up. But I veged the clone for less than three weeks so its not much time in the first place. Clones usually take off faster than seeds if you have that option. Or you could just grow many plants instead of one bigger plant. You won't need to veg them at all if your going Dr.Bud's SOG style.

I gotta do a Scrog next time around, these yield so much better in small spaces than just growing em out, it's such a no brainer. The "hard" part (at least for me) is figuring out a way to build the damn thing, with little to no tools. :fsu:

You's gonna have a jungle on your hands shortly. There are certainly worse problems to have. Love the looks of the plants, and I agree, this looks like a very healthy sativa to me. Is JH a pure sativa? Or nearly pure?

I think it's mostly sativa, but different phenos can be more or less sativa like. And different breeders all have their own Jack strains that are a little different than each other. The person who gave me this clone told me it was Jack Herer, but I don't know anything about the breeder so I just have to take his word for it. I think that it looks more sativa than most Jack Herers, if it is at all a Jack Herer than it could maybe be Karma genetics cause mine looks the most like theirs. Here's a pic of Karma Jack: http://icmag.com/ic/picture.php?albumid=3499&pictureid=79596

But it looks really haze dominent to me, so I decided that it's probably not the strain known as Jack Herer, at least I can't proove it. So I've named it Jack Hazzer. :rasta:

I know the first jack herer strain was bred by the sensi seed banks along with jack herer(emperor's new clothes).
quoted from wiki jack herer cannabis
"Jack Herer is a cannabis strain. This strain is a hybrid of Skunk #1, Northern Lights #5, and Haze.[1]

It was named after Jack Herer, author and cannabis decriminalization activist. It has sativa dominant characteristics. The flowering time is 50-70 days.[2]

Jack Herer won the seventh High Times Cannabis Cup.[1]"

I beleive last time i tried to research this, people had came up with 4 different phenotypes, 3 sativa dominant and one indica dominant. i cant remember if one or two of the sativa dominant ones grew like sativa and packed on the weight of an indica.
My plants, that seeds i took from the last bag of jack herer i got, are both different. both were lst'ed and one staying very short with thin stems and focusing flowering on the main cola's, lots of branching, and didnt show flowers until 3-4 weeks of 12-12. the other one, didnt branch out as much, flowers down to the dirt(litteraly, just had to cut a bud spot out cuase it was growing halfway into the ground) thick, strong stems and the buds are twice the size as the other one, and each fan leaf stem has turned a dark red/purple where the other is still green.
I base my answer off of my own research and what my plants look like, I have no idea if hey are really jack herer, but my friend's friend is a commercial grower and really has no reason to lie, so i can only take his word on it.

by the way, the plants are comming along cozy, cant wait to see them in full flower

Thanks for the info AromaDreams, that's good stuff to know. Comparing what you have to say about your plants, I'd say my seems fairly similar so far to your indica pheno. My plant is showing lots of red/purple on the stems (especially the fan leaf stems), the stems are also kinda thin and weak compared to indicas, but braching seems to be better than average.

The way I see it is, hey, it's just some hybrid somebody made and hopefully I got a good pheno. The friend who gave it to me said the friend who gave it to him (yeah, I know) said that this is a prooven plant they've been growing for years.

After this harvest I'm going to re-veg her then think about possibly breeding.

check out this guys older grow, he has a new one going now too. His jack pheno looks a lot like mine, i think you have a more sativa pheno. my indica pheno might just be showing its haze heritage on the fan leaves. I hope mine keep packin on the weight and get nice fat colas like this guy got. My clones resemble from the more indica dominant looks exactly like his clones that he started with. I love jack, cant wait to cut it down and revege in 2-3 weeks, which'll put me at 8-9 weeks of flower.
it all depends on what pheno you have.mine was heavily indica dominant and only stretched about 20 inches.most JH will stretch a lot more if on the sativa side.

Check out M_Blaze's jack herer grow if you want to see some big ass jacks. I think he got like 12 pounds from 3 or 4 plants using coco and multiple 600w lights. :)

yah looks great. but looks like it might still need more head room to go to full flower.
gl.

I got a few inches in books underneath the container you can't see in the pic. I'll remove them as the necessary. I'm just hoping its enough.
