it's all how good your lawyer is...i have a digital food scale also a mixer.food processor and more culinary tools.....

i used postal scales most arabmarts carry them only round 3$ disposable.....accurate... easily calibrated....only good for burgers or less.....unless you have a lot of time

.......something has gone very very wrong. A felony is a felony.

And there it is folks....~!

Another thing to consider is your hard drive records....even if you bought a scale on the net and tossed it, unless you really scrubbed your drive, I believe a Popo hack can probably find the record of transaction.

If a scale was found, there's bound to be trace of MJ on it if used as such and the 'baking' concept turns into 'So, how were those brownies?"

All the more reason to grow it for yourself and not for commerce.... power ta yooz that go BIG!

If you can keep your scale perfectly clean, then you can always claim you used it to weigh mail.

everyone can claim what they want, but when it all boils down you've still got a scale in association with your grow, your sandwhich baggies, your money, etc. I dont see how "excuses" for the scale are going to help.

Its not like the cops are going to take your food processor and baking supplies for evidence too.

No.. your scale will be sitting there right next to your ballasts, bulbs, money, sandwhich bags, etc...just shouting distribution..whether it is or not.

I assume most people just plea bargain down to lesser charges...but I really dont know what goes down on a case by case basis when shit hits the fan.

how are those that grow their own to know if their under 8OZ then?!?!?!?

also what about a scale for weighing me?

Paranoia will destroy ya!!!

Fact is if you get caught red handed growin you are busted. Once you take a plea on the grow most of that other crap, scales and guns, is usually forgotten about. After all they already have you on a felony! If it scares you that much then maybe you shouldn't put yourself in frightening situations. Just my .02

Before you weigh anything always put cligfilm over the scales so no cannabis residue is passed on to the scales, never keep baggies in your home either and always iron your cash ;)

just keep your baggies, and scale in the kitchen far away from your weed. You can always claim you used the scale to make sure you wernt getting ripped off on your small sacks. Then you can get off with possecsion probation. My friend did this, it worked, and he is a straight up dumbass when it comes to the law.

As I was informed by my attorney, in case any of you considering ditching your scales are in Texas, there is no distinguished charge of "intent to distribute" under Texas state law. He told me no matter how much you had and if you had scales and baggies, whatever, you would simply be prosecuted according to the weight of the USEABLE (that's taking out the weight of stems and seeds) marijuana you had in your posession.

i.e. scales don't matter in Texas.

You better get rid of all your ziplock bags too. See this thread for an example of what gets seized in a raid. If you're going to grow, you might as well give up on weighing your coffee or having fresh sandwiches. If you know what's good for you.
yeah this and the kitchen scale...this shit is getting out of control. No coffee grinder either - that is used in the manufacturing of hashish, you know. No dirt or gardening supplies of any kind. No planting buckets. No trowels. No scissors of any kind. No vacuum sealer. No dehydrator. No ISO. No molasses. No twist ties. No paper bags.

We can have scales here as well. We have limits on how much dry bud we can have and we can only carry 1oz so the need for a scale is a must here.

Dont do stupid stuff that gets you caught like selling to strangers or no odor control. Then it doesnt matter what kind of shit you have in your house.

What about this situation? I have a triple-beam balance in my home. Technically, it does not belong to me but to my company, of which I am one third owner. I need this scale for my job, along with a lot of other laboratory equipment that I have at my home (I work at home). Of course since I have this really nice scale I use it to weigh my weed too. So I'm sure if tested it would have some residue even though I clean it after every illicit use.

I occasionally wonder what would happen if I got busted. Could they take my scale and say I am a dealer (I am not), even if I can prove it doesn't belong to me and I need it for my job? Let's hope I never get that question definitively answered.
