I hate the stupid photo orientation bs. I have to take screenshots of every photo so it's not sideways... Screenshot_20180430-232324_Gallery.jpg

Temps stayed steady at 85 degrees F with all the lights on. My garage temps are about 70 F at 9pm and that will only go up through summer. My ghetto carbon scrubber which I love lol is underpowered I'm afraid.

I've noticed that the LEDs that are above 10w tend to get hot enough to need some real fans. I usually use actual 4" duct fans in my box because of that. Currently I've got a 112w cab I'm working on (almost done) that gets about 80F right now. my plan, and I might recommend this, is to add another fan in the cabinet to circulate air. Just a little USB fan would be good enough so it doesn't take up too much space.

I have that exact thing literally sitting out in the garage now. I just ran out of time messing with it. Even with it though I'm gonna have to upgrade my duct fan to a real 4 inch duct fan that's at least 40cfm I think, especially since I was considering going with some 13-15 watt bulbs for the end of flower to add size. I have to have all air going out go through the scrubber cause i can't have any smell leakage. Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely have to look into it before its go time.

Update! Took an old crappy USB fan apart, added the rare earth magnet out of a stick on led light, stuck it to the side of the grow box and turned it on full power. It ran for about 45 minutes and the temp was still climbing... dammit. So I cut it down to one light and I'll see how low it gets with just one light on and then I'll add them one at a time tomorrow and see the degrees rise per 8 watt bulb. Oh well I'll definitely have to upgrade my 18 watt computer blower exhaust. I'm torn whether i should just overload it and see how much it can take since I'm just testing or just tear it out and buy a 3 or 4 inch blower.

Where are the air intakes in the cab? (I can't find them in your pics)
Do you need to make more intakes?

Well I drilled a few small 3/8 inch holes in the bottom near the back and the front isn't sealed like at all yet I can see like pouring out of the front door. I figured that would be enough but you might be right.

Sounds like you need more air intakes. A couple 3/8" holes aren't even close to enough imo.

My cabs that use a 4" in-line fan for ventilation have five or six 2" holes drilled into the floor of the cab. I put 90 degree bend, black painted, 2" pvc pipe in the holes under the bottom of the cab to direct the light toward the front where the light is blocked. You can see it in this post https://www.icmag.com/ic/showpost.php?p=3908060&postcount=8

You might also add either another fan or replace the current one with a larger fan.

Lol I didn't even know you could share a single post like that. Pretty cool. Yeah I guess you're right I think I have a 2 inch hole bit in my garage. Time for some more surgery. I've started adding one bulb at a time starting this morning and am recording the temps the whole time so I can see what my current fans limits are. So far I'm up to 3-8 watt bulbs. As soon as that stabilizes I'll drill the whole see what that does the add another bulb.

Blynx you're a genius. I cut 2 x 2inch holes in the bottom for ventilation. After I did that I turned on the 4th 6500k led and it very quickly stabilized at 79.6F after only 45 minutes and only a 1 degrees rise in temp. Compared to the diff from 2 lights to 3 which rose 5 degrees and took 5 hours to stabilize. Intakes matter. I'm learning lessons before I'm even starting growing. Here are the time and temp markers.
Had one bulb on all night and added the
2nd at 9:50am and 71.4F
3rd at 1:42pm and 74.7F
The 3rd stabilized at 6:33pm and 80F

I was out of the house for a bit and then cut the holes and added the 4th light at 9:15pm and the temp was at 78.7F.
The 4th stabilized at 10:00pm 79.7F
I know I can safely veg at least with my 4 6500k leds. I now have the 5th led on and will see if it will stabilize out before I go to bed. Thanks for the advice Blynx 👍👍

How much airflow do you feel your carbon scrubber is blocking? I only see holes punched in the sides, which might not be enough to really get enough air pulled through.

I'll take a better picture of it but for the size exhaust blower I have I really dont think air flow throw the carbon scrubber is the issue. Like I said though I'll take some more pics and let yall decide.

Ok so every side has about this many holes in it and the bottom too. If it had even 50 cfm going through it I'd say it needs more holes but I don't think its the limiting factor. But I am the noob and it's an easy fix sooo shall I drill it up??

5 lights and only 7.4 degrees F over ambient temp. Time to go to bed I hate having to work all the time. I'll try 6 tomorrow. Starting to feel hopeful.
