My Box Set Up

This is gonna be quick but here goes These are the supplys needed. The fan is a 5 inch fan 118 cfm and 2 dryer vents.

Slats need to be removed and holes drilled in the corners. No need to measure where to drill the corners line up perfect.

Sandwich the fan between the to vents and run bolts threw, NOTE the bolts are 8-32 x 3 inch machine screws.

When all assembled a small bead of caulk around the edges seals things up nice

The fan can be hard wired but i use a adapter for a quick disconnect. 12v dc adapters and a great garage sale, flea market item. Ive been using this fan to cool a 600. GL Peace LL

i was thinking about taking a working mini fridge and cutting an intake in it and having a powered exhaustto blow cool air in my box. everything is in the garage so i have to figure something out to control temps. what do you think?

Thats a tough one. They make coolers that are self cooling. Google thermoelectric cooler. Peace LL

Hey Lifeless, do you have pics of how you get your plants close to the lights. I just built my first box, inspired by you of course, and I was thinking about cutting 2x4 into square pieces and stacking it. What do you think? Any thought about how to cool down my box. Its in the garage and Im in So Cal so in a few months 100+ weatrher. I have two 3" case fans on either side in the box, 4" exhaust fan, and two 3" intakes. Any input you have is appreciated! Thanks!

sintwin check my last post for my cooling suggestion. As far as lifting the plants to the lights you only need to do that when there small and i use a rubber coated rack for that. can be found at yer local hardware. Hope things workout for ya.
Heres a few shot of the corss i made a few years back Apollolicious= Indiana Bubblegum x Apollo13 Bx1. These are under a 600 Hps. Peace LL

Lifeless, i just came across this thread while researching CFL grows, i've only done large HID grows but these days i'm in an apartment and just want to do a headstash grow. i love what you do with those tubs and want to try to recreate it...i didn't see anywhere where you said how you seal the containers together, as, if i'm not mistaken, you're taking two 30 gal tubs and stacking them upside down on eachother right? how do you seal them together so that light can't get in but make it easy enough to seperate them to get in to water and stuff?

hey eli, I'm not sure what LL was using, but I ended up using weahter stripping from an auto repair shop, Like kragen. Its used for doors and such and will come in a long strip. Air tight and light proof. -fresh

Damn i got lost for a while. I thought this thread was dead now but i guess not.

b00m thnx man heres a few pics. These are grown under a 600

kish dont tease us with pics and not postem its not nice. :jump:

Eli Bloom Im glad you found us. People are what make the thread work. Theres been alota people with great ideas here. As for light proofing the boxes ive never used anything. The boxes you get should be flat across the top. They seem to seal up pretty good on there own. I connect the boxes with pop rivits.

BC Chronic :tiphat: Im not growing in the tubs any more. I turned them into breeding tubs now. They work great for making beans. So easy to control everything. If you build one of the tubs post up some pics we like to look.

The cross i made is in the front right (Apollolicious) Indiana Bubblegum x Apollo13 Bx1 There at 36 days in the pic and i swear there about done.

Fresh Start always good work man. Peace LL
