question man

question man

dont know if this was discussed already cause i just scanned through but i love your design and have replicated it but have stumbled upon a holdup :bashhead: ..my question is what did you use to connect the pvc t and the rubbermaid cause i wasnt sure if caulk would hold up the weight of it..thanks alot

thanks

thanks

yea i was thinking i would apply a layer of caulk then maybe add some extra goo to ensure it would stay..how are you guys raising and lowering plants to the light with this type of setup?

krylon fusion works great on the plastic :) but you can wrap these things in duct tape to light proof them, which i havent really seen so far in this thread.

just stack your plants on whatever.. coffee cans, stacks of cd cases, books. whatever you got layin around.

Lifeless- sorry if i missed it but what height did you turn the lights at with these plants. I have been looking at dr.buds, thunderkel, and yours. I have 5.5in square pots that i think im going to use. I would like to keep my plant count down, and im too lazy for perpetual so im leaning towards your style (only building my own box) My goal is atleast 8oz every 2 month. Which i believe is about what you got from yours. You think 12 plants maybe? how tall you think i should start at. My strain in called Jack Frost(NL#5, white widow, jack herer) I know ill have to dial it myself just looking for some advice to get me going in the right direction. Oh yea i love my cfl's, my room stays at 77 while my 400hps w/ cooltube was about 82

Alright i read through and i guess ill start at about 11in when they hit the top of first box, just one more thing once your buds are next to the lights and you remove the top, how do you know the buds arent hitting the light when you put it back on?

11 inchs is a good height to flower at. Id top a few times to get them alittle more branchy. The rivits i put in the back corners of the box makes it easy to tip the top back to make sure nothing is touching.

outstanding work, didn't have a chance to read all of it yet but i love the simplicistic genius. very great idea man.

great pics, the color of your buds is top-notch! :joint:

cheers,

don't know if this was mentioned already but what style of training do you use when you grow in these rubbermaids..i know our goal is to not get them too bushy because we want to fit as many plants as possible in their as long as they're comfortable so i wasnt sure if ya toppped or lst'd or what...your plants look mighty tasty by the way :joint:

Ijust built a carbon scrubber for my 600 Hps. Im gonna build a small version for my rubbermaids. Super easy to build and im sure it will work perfect. Heres a few pics . First pic is without the poly and the second is the finished product.

Hey LL, just read the whole thread from the beginning. Thanks for all the info and you have some awesome looking plants. It turns out I have a very similar setup to yours except with another smaller Rubbermaid inside the bottom Rubbermaid for DWC. Might want to give it a try at some point so you don't get board. It's super easy and works great. Gonna try letting my plants get closer to the lights and form your little alley-style buds. Keep it up and post some more recent pics!

I've read all these pages and what I really wanna know is what do you think you'll harvest from your box? Is it possible to put that setup on a perpetual harvest?

I just read the entire thread and I'm almost speechless.

I have done plenty of research into CFLs, but most of the threads that are up kept are perpetual runs and I never knew the yield was so good! I fell in love with what the members 150W HPS club are accomplishing, but most people only seem to get around 60-90G from a run and sometimes that is with a SCROG. You are outdoing them and your setup takes up such a small place and with less hassle!

Someone needs to come up with an effective carbon filter system for these tubs and it would be ready for the masses!

I'd like to thank you LifeLess for helping everyone a long the way in this thread. Truly inspiring.

well, as everyone else has said, THIS IS GREAT! you've refined your own cabinet while providing a blueprint for many of us other growers...so thanks!

anyway, im going to start my own LL growlab sometime this week. the space im working with has a footprint of 2'x3'. do you think this will be enough space to fit a 30gal model just like yours?

did i understand correctly that you only use 2" intake holes, one on each side near the bottom? and are those pvc elbows 2" inner diameter pvc?

and the last question...what temp CFLs do you use for veg? i noticed that you still use 42watt bulbs but what k are they?

also, great idea with the paperclips!! and thanks in advance for answering any of my questions...
