So far reaching my goals… but the proof will be in the pudding ( smoke test)

The Nasturtiums seem to be a great understory, they are climbing some plants and spilling out over the container. I periodically pat them down keeping them suppressed to the main crop. I feel like this helps bring balance, taking up excess nutrients, adding to the energy of the system through photosynthesis, adding more diverse biology to the system. As long as they don’t out compete my main crop for light, they seem very happy together

Pollinating going good too! I have a marked branch of each plant in flower pollinated. Thinking about how long it takes just to test a batch of seeds I decided to mix the pollen of the 2 selected males! I also hopefully did a much more careful job of pollinating and keeping males far away from the unpolinated flowers.

3rd pollen collection, this one going in freezer!

Moms are just kicking it in 2 gal pots on tube florescents, doing a great job of keeping them slow and small until some selections can be made, hopefully one of these plants will be special enough to save a mom or 2.

Eagerly waiting on a harvest, tonight smoking some Outdoor Kali China that’s been in the jar for 5 months, it’s a fairly powerful smoke, it’s really dense and has taken quite some time in the jar to burn as a good joint, the smell is like earthy, maybe beefy cow pies, the outdoor has a wildness. I had 4 phenos and they have all had similar highs. Early uncurled samples were more up, we called it the joker because it made you smile, but with cure to me it’s much more down, I smoked this when I had things to do the other day and felt terrible. But then tonight I’m enjoying it as a late evening smoke feeling chatty 😁 This one is K4, I have off spring of all 4 kc ohenos pollinated by 2 Malawi males!

I was able to sample tonight a quick dry of my #16 NC Thai x Malawi, a different grow at 7weeks. If this is any indication of what this is going to be like, the taste and smell is so much like Durban poison, that piney earthy oily. One joint shared with 4 testers, I felt like my lips were partially paralyzed, I was having trouble pronouncing things but still up and laughiing though very powerful effect already, kinda stunned!

I have some early prematurel observations about the Malawi crosses, so far it doesn’t look like Malawi is dominating anything, nothing stands out that say’s I’m just like the Malawi. The crosses all seem to favor their mother structurally but in a hybrid way, more vigor, a little more stretch, a little thinner leaves, adding that malawi copious resin and hopefully potency! FYI The Malawi males used were the stretchy more sativa like phenos. This might be one of my best grows ever! Thanks for following my Adventures!

@FeelHaze Thank you for the compliments.

Week 6 now, nasturtiums getting choked out but that’s ok by me, the worms still love to root around under the shade of the canopy 😊

KC1x Malawi - The seeds mother kc1, was a weird plant, a low yielder with twisted leaves but I think it was the best smoke of all the kc phenos I had, The seedling of the offspring also had twisted freaky leaves, when I took clones I noticed one branch was normal, that normal cut made it and the twisted ones didn’t. It’s looking resinous and how it’s building its flowers remind me of Thai chi, like roses up the stem. Not stretchy though. I’m finding it’s flowers and resins beautifull can’t capture it well in photos

This is some early flowers of the NorCal Thai x Malawi. I wish I knew more about this NorCal Thai at Pacific Seed Bank,i honestly don’t trust this company, wouldn’t normally support them, they seem to make knock off’s based on other peoples work. I’ve wrote them to try to get for info but nothing. They claim 100% Thai landrace that finishes in 8-9 weeks! This came to be by pollinating a buddy’s grow with Malawi pollen. None the less it’s good smoke, stong sativa but deep high on par in potency with my strongest Malawi, except in duration, Malawi outlast it! It does have some purple tendencies in some pheno’s. It’s a fast finisher, does seem very sativa in the smoke, has thin blade leaves but short, not long and drooping. Reguarless of all that, it’s fait now, it was meant to be!

NC Thai #15 looks like it’s going to go later than the others, beautiful plant and flowers so far…

NC Thai x Malawi - #16 Getting fantastic smells of what I know as Durban from this one! She’s the most N sensitive of all my plants even more so than the Thai chi, clawing and foxtailing bud structures from too much N something I keep struggling with in the living soil bed. Could this be a clue that maybe these genetics contain Durban poison to get a sativa plant in a 8-9 weeker? A buddy growing same clone but older and has more normal bud structure, early smoke samples of this one had my lips feeling paralyzed! Really powerful effect

The Red worm population is thriving! They love being in the middle of the plant roots!

Starting to get a little more exciting now with some flower flash on shots @ 7weeks all from clone ☀️

A freaky twisted leaf low yield but resinous just like it’s seed mom, It had the best effects and the Asian spice of the kc’s but super low yield

@9wks flower, Harvested the seeded branches due to seeds falling out, the seeds seem mature and nice. It’s cool to see how different they look than the non pollinated flowers on the same plant 😊

I’m loving this Kali Pheno #12 in the K4xM, nice incense terps, tight frosted buds, just neat looking flower clusters that look like they want to show color if temps were lower.

I’m thinking maybe it looks and sounds a lot like the F5 KC line? What do think? See any Malawi?

Harvest Time 🏴‍☠️

This is some of the Last pics of Tops before I Harvested, took everything to almost 10wks, anything with KC looks very ripe and the others just a few white pistols. Putting a fork in it!

NC Thai x Malawi #16 - Very Woody, Oily, Lemon Oil, buds are slick to the touch with oils, I’m thinking it’s indeed very Thai! Also had side branches as big as the top cola. A buddy grow out a clone of it, already got to smoke test it and it taste just like the smell and the oil coats my mouth, the high is the most cerebral I’ve had in quite some time. Up, energetic, clear headed, no paranoia, some times feel visual brightening and distortion. I feel like Malawi added vigor. The seeds mom was an outdoor grow and was quite different from this. So it’s unlike either parent, the other pheno as well completely different from either parent. What an education this is!
