wow, those two HS x CTS girls look great! I was going to grab some of the fed Hawaiian sativa seeds, the HS x CTS is out of production though, correct? The BD and Afgooey are looking very nice as well, that BD plant of yours is a monster. I've been thinking of picking up some afghani seeds sometime soon, any ideas on who's stock would be a good place to start looking? This thread is like an episode of Montel, another week, another 3-4 girls who's weight problem is so bad they can't stand up without help, it's almost tragic! have a good one mr D

Thanks for the kind words everybody.
SuperNuck - that might be a good idea since Montel is a medical marijuana patient. Maybe I can be on his show with my harem of big mamas lol. As far as seedbank Afghani, I really have no idea which is the best. The HS x CTS has not been available since 2005 which is when I got mine. I will keep my eye out for any good reports on seedbank Afghani

grapepunched - yep Federation is a great company. Everything is so unique to the Dutch genepool. And damn that's a lot of shows!

jaykush - yeah but I much prefer the Black Domina to the Moose Drool ;)

OK, here is a half ass smoke report on some that has only been curing maybe 2 weeks? I will note any changes as the curing progresses

On the HS x CTS (#5) the smells and flavors are starting to come through on her. She lost most of her lemon flavors the end of flower and during cure. But she has this tropical spice funk going on, with a hint of melons in the very background. The spice dominates this plant. Not quite a Haze spice, but a more caramel funk spice. Not much if any fruity flavor but a clean spicy and musky smoke with a very slight hint of lemon. The high is fairly strong in the head, hitting you instantly. Very "up" in nature, making you want to do things. I will smoke this at work all day and I suffer little to no burnout (my burnout is usually caused from smoking hash in the morning) during the day. The Golden Goat is bad at causing burnout. I am pretty much worthless by 3:00 if smoking 12 week flowered Golden Goat all day.

I don't know if I plan to keep the #5 or not. Yes it is very nice and unique but damn I have dozens of Federation's Hawaiian Sativa hybrids and I have to be a picky SOB when choosing keepers. My #4, which looks identical to the #5 I have pics of took 1-2 weeks longer, but she has this crazy Pina Colada smell going on. She is drying right now and I have higher hopes for that plant. As I said the #4 looks identical, with the crazy foxtails and everything.

Dusty - cool to hear you have the GG now. You will really like her. My current one flowering has only a week or so left and she is in the very back so no pics till harvest.

Ok so I have been slacking on the updates, so I thought I would do some dried nugget pics and reports of this grow I did of Federations Hawaiian Sativa x Celestial Temple Sativa

This is my first grow of this strain. I germinated I think 8 seeds and had 1 not crack and 1 was a severe runt so I culled her right a way (I will keep a runt but this had no chance). I had 6 plants and all were females. I was really worried about herms, but I only found maybe 6 total nanners on 6 large females throughout flowering, so nothing worth sweating. I have some pics of the live plants in this thread.

#1: (no photos and not worth the report)...So I will start off with the winner

#2:
12 weeks of flowering and this plant became massive. Not dense buds but nice medium density buds. She did stretch well but she grew strong and her buds filled out nice. This was my heaviest plant of the 6 therefore I did not have high expectations for her. It seems the lower yielding freaks are the ones who jump out and surprise me. Well, this is not the case. She is my favorite one by far.

She has a very distinct sweet lemon smell with a hint of spice and melon with the sweet lemon smell dominating and the spice lurks in the after smell. This is a different spice than Haze spice, but similar. What I like most about this stuff is that upon exhale, she leaves such a sharp flavor in your mouth. It leaves you thinking how good it tastes, but after about 5 seconds of ranting about the flavor she smacks you hard in the forehead. It gives me that pressure behind my eyes and in the forehead that I used to experience in my early days of smoking. This plant also exhibits a trait that CTS is known for, and that is a high with no ceiling. The more you smoke, the more intense the effects are. Unlike a lot of sativas, this plant gives me absolutely no paranoia or uncomfortable feelings. I like this plant a lot. I don’t know if I will keep her forever, but she will definitely be with me for a few more rounds.

Potency: 9
High: 9
Smell: 8.5
Flavor: 8.5-9

#3:
9 weeks flowering and some great resin production on solid large buds. Very potent, just as potent as #2 but with too much indica influence for my expectations on a “pure” sativa hybrid. Subtle and bland flavor, much like a lot of White Widow hybrids I have grown/smoked in the past. One particular person really liked her for her bag appeal and potency. Not a keeper for me but a good production plant

#4:
11 weeks of flowering and this plant finished with some very unique looking fox tail type buds identical to #5. These are very appealing to the eye, both the buds and the plant. Has such a unique smell to her. She smells just like a tropical vacation on the shores of Jamaica J. Pina-Colada to the max while growing, and the dried and cured buds smell like Pina Colada and that suntan lotion that smells like bananas and coconuts. I had such high expectations because of it’s unique nature, but it is not a high contender after smoking her. The flavor is good, subtle but does not come through as much. The high is strong and foggy. Not Keeper

Potency: 8
High: 7
Smell: 8
Flavor: 7.5

This is the plant I was most excited for. Identical to #4 in growth except this took only 10 weeks to flower. She has a strong smell with a strong presence of lemon-pine/spice/melons with the spice and pine dominating the smell. The high was strong but not my cup of tea. Not a Keeper

Potency: 7.5
High: 6
Smell: 7.5
Flavor: 7

#6:
9 weeks flowering. This has a strong caramel smell with hashy undertones. No lemon smell at all. Very sweet and hashy flavor. She grew tall and narrow with very little side branching and dense medium size buds. Good plant for a beginner wanting a good sativa hybrid with fast flower time

Potency: 7
High: 6
Smell: 7
Flavor: 7.5

Overall I was happy with my HSxCTS grow. Out of 6 females I found one that I really like, and that is all I ask for. There were no inferior plants, but #1 was really not worth the time or space. What I was looking for in this hybrid was an extreme sativa dominant plant that was unique from all other sativa’s out there on the seed market. I have had experience with HS in the past and knew this would be a fun hybrid to grow. Other than that, it was a good grow.
