Finally! I'm ready!

The last 2 months I prepared by trying to dial in my soil and water with 3 morning star and 3 flo clones. Yowser, did I have the typical newbie problems. Couldn't find the recommended soils around, so I used Edna's Organic Potting Soil ( OK good laugh all around!!! What a name for a soil! :friends: ) which I had used in the garden - well between the soil and water I fried the poor girls, I was able to salvage one each that I now have for mothers. Picked up a Hanna meter, the problem was the soil had too much lime for my water ( of course I overlooked that at first). Now I'm using an organic potting mix from a local hydro shop, and taking my water down from pH8 to 6, the plants seem to be happy.

My cabinet is wedged into a small basement space, it's 4'9" long, 3'3" deep and 5 '10" high. Pic below:


That box on the right side is a filtered air intake with a 20x12" opening.

Hydrofarm light with a 600W Hortilux HPS bulb, and an Elicent 309CFM fan. With everything closed up and the light on temps inside and outside the box are about the same around 70d. I plan on adding a scrubber when I start flowering.


Went to a local club and picked up 8 trainwreck clones. I figure 6 for flower and 2 for mothers. First pic below is the 6 TW and the second pic is the 2 TW mums to be and the remaining morning star and flo.


The TW girls went into soil 4/11, and already they are starting to grow under the shop lights. The veg area is in a space under some stairs that I can curtain off with plastic.

Planning to start LST on each one tonight with more pics to come.

Last night I gave the 8 tw girls their first bend on the road to LST. A couple of them were either a bit short or hard in the stem and got a crease on one side of the stem - I thought they'll do fine.

Big surprise when I went in to peek this afternoon. When I tucked them in for the night they were all pointing down - now they've pushed their tops out and up in 14 hours or so.




Looks like I'm lucky and have some strong perky girls....

Update at day 8 in veg, 4 days of LST. The girls are all growing well, and the effects of LST are starting to show. 2 of them are a bit ahead of the others, they had some budsites already showing when I got them. I took pictures of 4 of the plants - the other 4 look similar.

They've had one watering so far 2 days ago, a week after I planted them.

Yup on the 600 HPS and the fan - got ideas from a lot of members - including your grows, yowser 7 MT plants under 1000w - man those buds look FAT!!!

Ok - today is one week since starting LST, and day 11 veg. I'm very happy with them so far - the runts are taking a bit longer to get rolling as expected, and the others.... hey, why don't I stop yakking and let the pictures speak for themselves...

#1 and 4 are the runts, bud sites are starting to grow out. I think #2 and 3 are the furthest along in growth.

They were planted in a composted worm casting/peat moss/pumice planting mix with roughly 50% perlite added, no other amendments. The way they're growing, I think I might have to start fertilising them in a week. I read TWs tend to be sensitive to nute levels, so where should I start? Here's what I bought to use this grow:

Pure Blend Pro Veg, Pure Blend Pro Flower, Liquid Karma, Dynagrow ProTek, CalMag Plus, Topmax.

Should I start at 1/4 strenght everything except Topmax and call it good enough, or should I measure PPMs with my pen, and adjust to what ppm??? 100, 200??? Would rather goose 'em with my green thumb rather than my black thumb

Now a picture gallery question. I'm uploading 1536x1152 pictures, but they're being resized to 800x600 for largest size. They're all under 200k when I upload them - how do I keep them full size but still have thumbnails for listing????

I believe its a built in feature...they automatically resize your pics....your grow looks great though....how old are the plants?

I like to train in a star pattern and then let them go. You'll find a style that you like to stick to before long, but every plant is unique. The growing of cannabis can be just as therapeutic as smoking it.

11 days....I would start them on 1/4 strength nutes...at the MOST...though the kids look fine as they are...so...your call...I would hold out a little while longer...than add 1/4 strength....
