Begun the clone wars have..about the cloning machine..did you fess up and tell the wife yet, "it's not really for washing socks" that could really screw things up.. :biglaugh:

I bet you could use rapid rooters in that machine with great results..just set it and forget it :chin:

Hiya folks
Man, sometimes life takes too much time away from my hobbies :chin: Quick catch up now, will get back later tonight after lights on.

Needed some room in the veg area - 2 powerskunk, one golden pineapple, 2 sourbubble, and one G99 were around 21" height, of these all but the G99#4 had long internodal distance and very thin stems. So I put the G99-4 in the flower cab last night, the others I'll take the long stems for clones next clone run and try for some tighter nodes.

Here's a mixed light pic - she's a beauty, nice and green.

All but 2 SB have been transplanted into 3 gal bags / pots, have to get to those this week.

Be back later today... Til then

Hiya somoz
Yeah, this rot stuff is very strange. The SM90 definitely helps, much worse before, even with plain water. The temps stay very stable in the basement - I have one of those stick on temperature strips on the outside of the bubbler at water level, whenever I walk by I take a look, haven't seen it bump higher than 72 unless I put it on a heating mat.

Funny, tonight I decided to clean the humidifier I run in the veg area - humidity hadn't been super low in a while so it had been dry in storage. I opened it up to wash out the wick / filter and sure enough it was covered with the same brown crappy stuff on the top end of the wick assembly. Dunked it 1/10 bleach for 10 minutes and then rinsed / washed... Now there definitely is no added organic matter inside the humidifier, and no light getting inside. :chin:

Hiya Garlic
That fat bush - are you talking first picture in the third row of msg 395? If so, that's the trainwreck. The SS is the second row of pics.

I'm going to have to give some rapid rooters a try, maybe they'll work. Seems to be the only thing I haven't done yet :dueling:

BTW - hose condoms - eewww - I hate sucking through latex ( :yoinks: that sure didn't come out right :yoinks: ).

Hiya TML
Thanks my friend. Yes, finally I think I have a handle on vegging plants, no funny veg area problems this run. Rapid Rooters next in the clone wars...

Hiya Packn
Man, guess my metaclorian count is too low for the force to help in the clone wars - looks like SM90 is not lethal to Darth Rot, more like ivory hand soap :pointlaug Re: my lovely wife, she has absolutely no interest in cannabis, but a couple months ago she asked me about pricing. She appreciates the comfort it brings me. I told her the prices from the local clubs and also that the potency is 1/3 to 1/2 what I now grow - her jaw dropped when I told her how much I'd have to buy. From that point on she has been more than tolerant, even though completely uninterested she politely asks about the grow every few weeks now. She is a good catch

Another vote for Rapid Rooters - you'd put Rapid Rooters on top of a bubbler? Thought they were pre-moistened and ready to go, by the time they need water roots will show???

Here's another set of bud closeups at day 30, getting nice and frosty, earliest frost I've had so far.

Hey Greeny, Sorry to hear your still having problems with Drot Vader. I was just doing to ask if you cleared up the water issue. My local water will turn into some kind of liquid snot if it sits around, say in the sink. Very strange stuff. The cloner runs 15/15 and seems to work better. The water still gets some type of cloudy snot stuff on the bottom of the tub. I don't rinse very often, should though. Some MJ is rooting fine, another plant just won't do it, scabs up but that is all it has done so far. Legal plants root alright, I am still have a problem transfering to soilless mix.

Good luck to you, The flowering plants look well.

Hiya -VT-
Thanks man! Me too on the G99, I'm hoping she has a lot of cindy in her and will finish in max 60 days. I figure by XMas time I'll know from the looks of her.

Hiya OJ
Thanks for the comments! I tried 1 run with RO water and 1 run with dehumidifier water and the same problem happened, so I can't blame the water. The common factor is the air pump for the bubbler. It must be sucking up spores and pumping them through the stones and into the water. If the spores are supplied in high enough concentration even a small percent of vigorous phenos would be enough to sour a bubbler. I'm still completely mystified that a simple guano tea mix soured between 24-48 hours. Theoretically with all the beneficial organisms present with the blah blah blah enzyme this and organic enhancer that bubbling air through a tea should ripen it and keep it aerobic for minimum of a week. 24 hours max here for a healthy tea.

To transfer to a soiless mix I've seen this done. If you have water root on a clone, transfer it to FFLW. It is agroponic, no soil in it. It is very light and fluffy and not very moisture absorbent. If you planted them in this they would slowly develop soil roots and when you get true rootlets the LW is very easy to soak / rinse out. Some folks just transfer the LW into hygroton without rinsing. Might be worth a try.

Thanks for visiting! Make sure to pop by later in the week - Keefhead donated a kilo of 75 micron bubble and I used it to make cannabutter for 3 pecan pies! :yummy:

Hi MGJ, just taking a stroll. If you are getting earlier frost, does that mean they are slightly further away from the light than usual? Something I notice on mine are if they are closer they get fatter but less frosty. Sorry to hear the mrs is starting to feel like a growroom widow, ya could always grow her a rose bush down there and bring her one up once in a while lol.
Love your dedication to - this clone is slighty better than that one so I'll keep this around and lose those others - type of thing. I'm starting to do that a little but I'm a little less controlled than you in that field.

 Hi MGJ. I was talking about the SS in the second row. I like it. :woohoo:

You do have to dunk the rapid rooters in water. they are premoistened, but not wet enough to root in. I hope you give it a shot it's just tooo easy.

Hiya GMT
Thanks for stopping by on your stroll!

The light's in the same place. The only thing that is different is giving them a dose of Budswell ( a mix of high-phosphorus bat guano, worm castings, and seabird guano ) 0-7-0 tea around 2 weeks into flower. I'll do it again next batch to confirm.

I have a buncha micro roses, I give her one every once in a while :petting: . As long as I keep her in mint, paprika, and basil all is well....

Thanks for the fine comments my friend - it's easier to pick a favorite when there's a crowd in the veg room and only one open seat in the flower room :biglaugh: If I don't cull some of them I'll be flowering the rest of these out 6 at a time for a half year!!! It would be just my luck that the keepers are the lanky skanky skinnyass plants :pointlaug <-- J/K

Hiya Garlic
My bad - maybe because I know I fried her early I didn't consider the SS to be bushes, but I guess they are!

I'm going to pick up some Rapid Rooters today. I need some schoolin then... So do you wring them out after you soak them? Anything special or just stick a cutting in a soaked RR, press to set the stem, and then dome 'em for a few days?

Have to give it a shot, this last run is another 007 clone run, and I'd like to get a couple backup clones of some of the plants.

Thanks for the info my friend!

:chin: MGJ this is what i do. Now I know everyone has their own way of doing things and if it's diff. then my way and it works for you cool. This is just how I do it.

1. Take the RR and dunk it in water. While it's under water give it a good squeeze to let it soak more up.

2. Take the RR out of the water and squeeze most of the excess out. It really doesn't matter if it is still dripping wet or not.

3. take a nail or an ice pic or something and push it through the bottom of the RR. When you getit to come threw the bottom wiggle it around to make some room for the new cut to be inserted.

4. Take your cut as you always do. Dip it in rooting solution. use whatever solution you like.

5. Insert your cut in the RR plug until you see the stem coming out the bottom.

6. Place cutting in tray. Now this is what i do differently. Do not put the dome on the cut. I don't like keeping my cuts wet on top.

7. Water the tray until you have about 1/4 of an inch of water in the bottom ( do this using just plain water the plugs have all the nutes needed to sustain the cuts until they root). You can also leave the tray dry? It works either way just remeber not to let the plugs dry up. If you do leave water in the bottom change it every day.

8. if temps are cold in your room put the tray on a heating mat to keep them warm.

That's pretty much it. you should have cuts within7-14 days. Some plants might take longer to root, like 3 weeks or longer. Just be patient and they will root. It's as simple as that.

Now for everyone out there that wants to tell me I'm doing everything wrong, I'll tell you right now, I don't care what you say this way works for me. I have had almost 100% success with this method for a long time now.

I know everyone wants to get the latest high tech ( expensive) gadget on the market, but I say why try and reinvent the wheel? This method has worked for a lot of people for years so why screw with it?

Thx much Garlic ! Picked up some RRs today, will set some up by the weekend. Thx again for the info my friend! I agree, no point in reinventing the wheel. Low tech or no tech, as long as it works no need to replace it with more expense or complication!

Dang that TW is a monster :yoinks: I really like the pruning and training you did with the sensistar MGJ, very nice. I never could use stakes for training in DWC pots....you make good use of that....

Lookin' good!

Had to double check..thought I might be on the bonsai thread...they got that bonsai cut in their jibs..I'm not sure what I just said either..but it's a good thing.. :woohoo:
That SS1 looks like a citrus tree.. :chin:
I think you just superimposed some big fat kolas on top of one of your citrus bonsai tree's..you weren't gonna get away with it..I watch CSI :moon:
That is definitely a trainwreck..looks like stuff exploded all over the place..
"the stems..oh the buds ate the stems too.."
that plant is almost one solid bud..nice.... :yummy: day34F WTF! :yoinks: that is gonna be one solid bud.. :canabis:

Hiya -VT-
Thanks much my friend! That trainwreck is a happy girl :canabis:. The sensistar surprised me, didn't do much more than give her one good haircut... I like stakes and training wire, just what I'm used to from bonsai. What do you use for supports with your DWC?

Hiya packn
ROTF!!! I confess - your CSI skills have me forensically pegged - photoshop colas all the way :biglaugh: Thanks for the compliments my friend!

Minimal additives this run. I used FFLW in the mix so I haven't added any Liquid Karma. Could be mistaken but the only thing I can blame is the Budswell guano - and if that is the reason it's the most reasonably priced additive I've seen yet - one or two doses is all that's needed...

Hiya GMT
Thanks much my friend! A bonsai that size is fine for taking 6-12 cuttings at a time, saves a lot of space! That one is actually due for a root trim and some fresh soil - it's been over 6 months in that soil. Not hard to do - sure you'd be a natural at it.

Today I prepped a bunch of cuttings and put them in Rapid Rooters:

Row 1 - Lifesaver from the flowering plants
Row 2 and 3 - Amnesia99-1
Row 4 - Golden Pineapple 1
Row 5 - Golden Pineapple 2
Row 7 - G99-5
Row 8 - SensiStar from the flowering plants
Row 9 and 10 - Powerskunk-3

Will know in 2-3 weeks. If I get even 50% rooted cuttings I'll consider my cloning problems over. Thanks everyone for the Rapid Rooter suggestions!

High MGJ  Well I am on my last DWC grow and using nothing fopr support lol...the Calizahr have strong branches....but I have used string and Scrog...
Is the sensistar 100% Indica? I need a good fast Indica I may hit you up about that SensiStar later...when we get together for the Calizahr harvest smokeout :D

The G99 is just looking stellar...love to hear what you think about the Airbourne G13 cut we got from our neighbor....not sure if you know...but that's a real keeper cut....I may be able to start taking cuts from mine real soon :woohoo:
