Whoa!!!! So much hostility...But I can respect everyones point of view.I too plan to move to CO,but not gonna try to cut into an already flooded market.Already have my own "guy" so to speak.Oz's sell for $350-$450 in my neck of the woods, grams $20-$30.So steppin on toes wouldnt be worth the risk.Ive been to CO several times, even before the MMJ scene. Its the most beautiful place ive ever been.Full of beautiful people. Its sad though that some dont want to see others escape from the front line of the war on drugs.Where people are loosing freedom, families, assets, and their very lives!!! For what???? A plant God created??? Come on people!!!Were all on the same team!!!! If someone wants to make a better and safer life for themselves and their family, why not lend a helping hand or helpful advice....Speaking of which Does anyone know if the Pueblo area is MJ friendly?Or anywhere else in southern CO?Thats also affordable.Just want to keep to myself,And run maybe 6k-8k,without the power company, rattin me out..Thanks

I understand wanting to move away from the threat of getting busted.

But just as you see it as "sad" that folks who live here don't really want EVERYONE else who grows moving here, some of see it as sad that folks in states where it is still illegal think that their only recourse to find legality >is< to move here.

I mean...where's yer balls and yer DRIVE peeps? Do any of you think that the stoners in Colorado just had these laws HANDED to us? That they just happened? That nobody DID anything to MAKE it happen? That we're just LUCKY??

We GET IT. We understand what it is like to grow under threat of prosecution. It was illegal here as well 'til we got off our asses and did something about it. (rather than just moving to Cali cus they had already done the legwork)

I guess what gets me is that folks CLAIM they just wanna be free, that they just wanna be able to grow some plants for themselves/etc., then they immediately start talking about their 6-8K gardens, and by the time they hit the state they are renting a warehouse and are planning on running 30K.

10X what they had the balls to run "at home".

Same team my ass. These folks are on their OWN team.

And they wonder why those who have paid their dues/made this all happen might not want them here...takin it all FARTHER than it was ever intended, ESPECIALLY when they never lifted a finger in their own state to foster change?

Amazing.

Just realize tha if you move here and go over the 3/3 count or get caught selling ANY amount you can face the same kind of penalties you can face wherever it is you currently live. It's legal to a POINT. After that, it is still illegal.

good luck

Hey guys,
I am brand new to this forum and I too am on my way as soon as I get my last loose ends tied up here. I grew for years in Michigan (all indoor, soil and hydro) I am looking to move to the colorado springs area. Does anyone know of any MJ friendly realtors who may be able to help me procure a lease with option or just plain rent?
So far, most of the people here seem to be pretty cool.

you can't see why a state that is highly over priced for living doesn't want a bunch of new folks moving in driving up prices even more?

how about employment, does anyone ever think about that? The market is full, and then add 10,000 people every few months to the job market. The key is for everyone to work WHERE they LIVE to make it legal, not run to the first legal place. We now have states on record to show as proof as to why WE ALL should.

Yeah... I've been wanting to move to Colorado for a long time now.

I just want to grow for personal consumption, 12 plants max (6 for me and 6 for my wife), and not have to worry about neighbors who will call te cops at the slightest indication that something may not be right.

Right now I have some loose ends that I need to take care of (back rent, get car fixed up with new bodywork, pay car off) and find a day job in the field that I currently work in.

I already know at least a couple people in the Denver area, and know at least two more moving there in the next few months.

Short story: I want the fuck out of Utah. :)

you really think colorado is highly priced living
shit i wanna smoke what ur smoking bro
have you um been anywhere else??
ya maybe if u wanna live in a complete bumfuck place then yes the rent is high compared to that otherwise no its not

after living in colorado for 3 years it always amused me how many fuckin ppl get so defensive about their state it seems like they dont realize half of Colorado is full of ppl from ALL over the country, CU CSU CC all those schools are full of out of staters and guess what alot of them stay and theres not SHIT you can do about it. I never understood the attitude of all these "native" Coloradans that get so hostile at the idea of new faces. I get that you dont want people taking jobs or business from you but guess what if anyone stops buying your product because they found something else, its because yours isnt as good as the others
so heres a productive idea....just grow better dank lol
as if the commercial bunk that the shops and dbags sell really appeals more than your nicely grown herb, it sure never affected me and customer base

and i love how simple you make it sound like legislation is just done so quickly if that were the case wed have nearly half the country legal or more by this point but we dont...you reallly think thats cuz every other state is full of lazy ppl not an activist in sight......suuuuure. Sometimes and more often then not its ignorant single minded politicians that shut down marijuana legislation year after year, and theres not much anyone can do but hope they vote in people who share their views.

has the idea ever occurred to you that sick people could greatly use the benefits and maybe have i dont know families? that they dont want to be putting at risk so they can benefit so yes they decide to move to a safer place to avoid legal troubles.

grow up ppl

CO is beautiful.
go there, be at peace. grow lots of bud.
make a few friends, ply them with your wares.
many beautiful people there too, willing and wanting, so alluring...
shoot, i wanna return for a minnit!

without a medical angle it's just as dangerous there as anywhere.

good luck!

Respect, Adrift! I am much like you. I hide...legal or not. The folks who have visions of people smoking all over the place and stored selling it everywhere simply because it is legal are whack. We're a LONG way fron that point if we ever get there.

I personally think that most people who were truly into MJ already hold a med card. Yes, others will buy it if it truly comes to the point where it is sold in stores, but the serious folks here are already on it and have been for years - - -long before there were Med laws or any other nod.

And among other restrictions yet to be revealed, the latest news is that the State is discussing limiting all of this activity to CO Residents >only<. Ooops.

D

draco

only residents can smoke legally - yeah that will work lol.

when the $ numbers come in, the chamber of commerce will have something to say.

this process is going to continue to be slow. that is, until the money starts flowing.

those dumb asses in weld county - like many other places in the state - will come around. most of these are poor counties anyway. the biggest town in weld is Greeley; there is hardley a five story anything in that town. ranch and farm owners have $, but everyone else enjoys grinding poverty...

it's the money that will change things, cause money is more important to them than their willful ignorance... fuck yeah.

I think everyone should move to Colorado and the statistics say everyone already is! More people mean more money, business, and trouble but what are you going to do quit life?

Fucking people here.. Ever lived anywhere else? Ever lived in a state where if it were brought to a vote the people would likely make it illegal to be nonchristian? Think a town with 90% conservative christian fuckheads will ever, ever, EVER change a law related to MJ, or gay rights, or HUMAN RIGHTS for that matter.

So it looks like I'll finally be moving to the Denver area come spring. :dance013: (Been planning since well before the elections, BTW.)

Anyhow, I'm not bringing with me any grandiose notions of wealth; I'm aware the prohibitive costs and scale of becoming a legal grower, etc, and I'm not looking to take over the black market.

So, it's saturated. I get that. But realistically, how easily would I be able to unload a few oz's a month? And at what price? I'm talking top quality "name brand" organic nuggets...

Whats up. Fuck everybody that is hating about people moving to a friendlier state. They can move out. Unloading a few ozs a month is not hard when you know people. You sound like a straight up dude trying to make a few bucks to cover the cost you put into the gardening. Nothing wrong with that. Glad to hear you grow organic. So many people say they grow organic when they still buying nutes from hydro stores haha. I live in a 4 Bedroom house outside of Denver and pay $1100 a month. Have a perfect little growing spot in my basement and im literally 2 blocks from my counties jail.

Anyway, what kind of strains you running? What you moving out here for? Just know there are friendly people here that will welcome you like myself.

A good friend to have in CO is the founder of the first legal seed co in the U.S, Ben Holmes
Founder of Centennial Seed Co outside of Boulder Co. (Lafeyette?)
Get ahold of him, and he can give you alot of good info about "the scene" and whatnot.
Hope this helps. He's a wicked good guy.

Having lived in Colorado my whole life, I'd advise growers to avoid Colorado Springs. It's the new home of the Fundie Fringe, along with lots of military retirees. It's a *very* conservative town, a place where the Tea Party is considered Liberal...

Manitou Springs, adjacent on the west side of Colorado Springs, is a whole different story, but they're a separate municipality.

If you can find your way up into the mountains, you'll find more like minded folks.
