I bought a used 97' Harley Fxd(Dynaglide) about two yeras ago. It has the 80 C.I. Evo motor in it. The guy I bought it off of, took exellent care of it and it was already loaded with Chrome when I bought it.The color is called electric blue, kinda almost like a sappire color. Last summer I put a pair of drag pipes on her so now she really growls when you hit the throttle. Getting my bike was a dream come true, I always wanted a Harley, and thanks to my wife being cool about me buying it, I finally got one, at a really decent price too.I love ridin' , and I can't wait till spring hits again!

Cool!
Sunset, a buddy of mine has a '99 Vulcan but i think his is a 1100cc so you got the BIG BIKE! i think the Suzuki Marauder is a Kawasaki 1600 very simular to yours.
Witchking, i've wanted a H-D for years, i've been a fan of the Road King and that would be my dream bike...i just cant part with $20,000+

keep them coming!

I've got an '03 Triumph Bonneville America. If you can't afford a Harley, like me , look into a Triumph. They have a great sound with a couple of baffles removed from each side. Every time I'm out on it, some old guy says "Man, I use to have one of those back in '59" or something to that effect.
I haven't ridden since Sept. I had neck surgery on the 28th of Sept. and still recuperating from it. By spring I'm sure I'll be ready though!

Yo Topwater! your right the Triumph is a classic, i rode one years ago and liked the British influence and of course the sound it made.
they have made quite a "comeback" in recent years and i think thats a good thing, because i know the company was on its way out not that long ago.
i cant post any pictures but maybe some of you could? cover up your lic. plate so we won't know who you are.
keep em coming! be cool

and topwater make sure you take lots of your "medicine" to help with that neck, cant wait for spring.

Man it took me years and years to find one that was right for me,in good condition and without a ton of miles for just the right price. Although Roadkings do tend to be more expensive than say what I have, If you stay diligent and you know what you want, something will fall into your lap, that's how I got mine, I had been looking at used bikes for at least two years and just couldn't find something that fit the bill(especially price!), and one day my cousin called me and said he knew someone that was selling a decent Harley for a pretty damn good price, I had no idea when I was going to the guy's house to look at it , that I'de be riding her home within the week. If you really want a H-D , keep at it ,you'll get one eventually, it's just waiting for that right situation.Nice thread...

Thanks Witchking for the kind words and yes i will keep looking, so far the Bully has been great so it will last for years.
my wife got her lic. last year and wants a Sportster so i'll be looking to get something for her, but if i get this for her she better ride it!

many years ridin and racin bikes, was always into 1000CC plus crotch rockets, searchin for a good deal on a hayabusa before spring hits.

busted legs, cracked skull, destroyed arm, and many other ailments i never seen a doc about, hehe. feelin it all now.

grandparents disowned me after my last wreck. was told if i ever bought another bike i would get nothin when they moved on. true to there word i got nothin, lol.

few friends have harleys, i just never could get into cruisein, and they touch down way to early in the twisties, high sidin crates as well.

Hey Jimi, cool bike. I would like to chop mine one of these days.
Cedar, I hear ya on the crashin' too. That's part of the reason I'm wearing a neck brace, moto-x can be a bitch on the body. What type of racing did you do?

Yep, thats the way you have to do it sometimes, wait for a deal to pop up.

Sloppy he must have a 750, the Vulcans at that time were just 750's & 1500's. I luv mine too! Very good bike for the $. I paid $6500 in 2001 w/1975 miles on it.

I know I will get flamed for it, but here is my opinion after riding & owning many bikes over the years.
If you want to ride & ride a lot w/o hassles, buy a Metric bike.
If you want to ride small amounts & have plenty of bucks, buy a Harley. There are thousands of parts available to customize a Harley. Many many more than the metric's.
A Hond Gold Wing has more American labor & parts than a Harley Road King.
So keep that in mind if your wanting an American machine.

I havent found a cycle i didnt like yet.
Sunset you might have stepped in something there! H-D has a BIG community but i haft to agree with you, japan has been know for their exellent product and that wont stop anytime soon. still love the H-D's.
all this talk of bike's is givin me the itch to ride!
keep em comin!
be cool

 That's funny!!! I love Dumb and Dumber! The wife says a little too much.

I have always been a sportbike guy myself. Started with a FZR600 back in 89 went to a GSXR600 in 93(anyone remember that thing!), then it was a 95 YZF600, 95 GSXR750, 00 R1, a wife, then baby, then mortgage and now i sit here waiting for the next ride, either a Triumph Thruxton or Speed Triple.

I was lucky enough to have access to a 02 Gold Wing for the occassional weekend. Great ride, nothing beats cruise control and reverse on a bike!
