What kind of soil mix are you using for your big pots ?

We are going to re-use our vermi-fire from last year. Use some kelp, alfalfa, rainbow mix, and one of these... glacial rock dust/oyster shells/dolomite lime. Maybe also add some more worm castings, but someone posted soil test of their Vermi schrews showed me and it doesn't look like it needs much. Any suggestions?:tiphat:

damn we just caught about 6 inches of snow and a little power outage, Mother nature's version of an april fool's joke.

Sounds like a good plan . How much of the rainbow mix are you guys going to use per pot ?
Not sure yet, i forget how much we used last year but we are starting our soil work next week so i'll let ya know. got a bunch of wet dirt, anybody got any tips for dealing with that?

were you down at kind people collective how is their bodhi stock looking...wish i could make a trip down there. also got the solo stash and tigers milk but saving them for indoors.

i double planted my pots in 2012 because i got a late mid june start and still hit 3=4 per 200. double planting works great in some cases but ideally i would rather have one big monster.

im shooting for early may planting this year, some of the ladies in the hoop house are already lovin the natural sun in between all the cold and rain.

yah we hit KindPeoples i would definitely suggest checking them out for Bodhi gear cuz they had a good selection. they were sold out of the Blood Orange so im still on the lookout for that one.

thanks for the info on double planting, we have plenty of clones even enough for triple and quad planting but i dont want to overdo it, some of our Glue#4's and HardcoreOG's are a foot tall already. We just got some Cherry Pies that are little baby clones so they might get double or triple potted if they don't bush up by May.

Most likely the final line up for our big plants will be :
10 Gorilla Glue#4
10 Hardcore OG
5 Cherry Pie

i'm still slightly on the fence about planting seeds... we have some that are growing nice and look like real winners but I don't want to waste a big pot on untested seed genetics especially when each plant matters. Although last year most of our seeds did better than our clones, and we have better seeds this year. Our current plan is use the strains listed above in our big pots, and put all our seed plants in 30's for full season in another garden.

Everything here will stay inside until May15-June1st depending on the weather... we still have lots of work before then.

Is that down by Seascape?

seeds can really kickass if you get that right pheno, most of the biggest yielders in my garden are from seed and the clones (especially finicky clone only OGs) always get beat in terms of vigor. I've had great results running OG hybrids from seed so I'm trying that again this year.

i see you had some BOG seeds, I've had good luck with sour bubble and boggle gum but everything else was very mediocre and several other guys had bad results as well, especially with the Lifesaver line. but the sour bubble can kick out some fat phenos, some are smaller bubba kush dominant and dont yield much, dont use that one. if you see a stretchier pheno use those…..basically pick your baddest girl in the flock and use her and save the runts for light dep.

i think you would have much better luck planting a healthy seedling than running OG clones just my opinion…..i had shitty results with OG clones, just lacked vigor and didn't have big strong branches like a proper outdoor plant should. i ran SFV and Fire, they are older cuts that have been under HPS lights for over a decade so they just weren't ready for the sun. maybe your cuts are different.

we have BOG sour bubble, and a new cross "Sweet and sour C99" he gave Drue Bleam to test. all seeds popped for both strains so we have to choose a good one or two

also have seeds Uncirculated OG x PSA from source genetics, which fits your criteria for "OG hybrid from seed", and the Ghost of Leeroy from moonshine. any tips for sexing? Last year we had some males in our big pots and didn't know until july.

also the Hardcore OG is not a pure OG, very chem dominant and more vigorous than Fire or SFV, so i am tempted to run her outdoors I know she can pull a couple lbs per plant easy

If you bury reservoirs, I think It'd be best if you do it in a mostly shady spot down hill from the trays. Then run irrigation line up to flood trays and let gravity take the drain back down to the rez. If you just bury it under the tray in the blazing sun you could end up with to warm of water. Remember you don't want 75+ degree water.

Howdy Sleeper, or anyone else who has a definative answer,
I just built a 1000+ gallon rain collection system..so I wouldn't have to use chlorine polluted city water..But I was wondering about the temps in my above ground storage tanks ? I won't be able to keep the tank water temps from getting kind of high. I'm not a newbie grower, but I sure don't get the results you guys do...Please tell me how warm water will hurt, and how badly? Yeah, I know in the summer I'd prefer a cool shower than a warm one, but how will it affect my girls? And would 70 degree city water be better than 90 degree rain water??

I just sprouted two seeds of some old school OG cut grown using a vegan method, and I have a few others I'm saving. Hopefully it's an S1

No light dep this year, but all of them are beefy as fuck already.
Going to take cuts off of everything, and hopefully save a male also. Once they flower we'll have an idea of which plants from the seeds we will want to keep. The Sweet & Sour Cindy is looking crazy so far also... I'm stoked to see what happens.

The Hardcore is awesome, we have a plant that we 'threw out' and it's been surviving through snow/wind/rain all winter.
I'm going to go take a bunch of pictures and try and take the time to get to posting them soon.

@TickleMyBalls, thanks for checking it out.:tiphat:

The last in the cups are the Bhodi Seeds at 6 days. 20 out of 21 popped. Only one that didn't was a Wifi x Snow Lotus. Hopefully all the pictures show the labels clearly enough, I'm way too fucking lazy to type that list out.
