Most narcotic strain against insomnia

I work a swing shift (12-8 p.m. ) , which led to me developing a little bit of insomnia. Normally I can't go to sleep until 2 or 3 a.m. What makes it so I can sleep is canna caps. Made from my own BHO extract. I take 2 every night, and I sleep thru the night.

If I don't take any or run out, I'm lucky to fall asleep by 4 a.m. Then I really don't sleep much. Fall out for 45 mins at a time, then wake up for 30 mins or longer. The caps work well for me. Where smoking a heavy WLD variety will put me out, it doesn't keep me out. Instead of having to smoke more while my wife is sleeping, the caps provide a lasting effect .

I made some spinach, it's really good and works well for sleep. I call it spinach because it kind of tastes like it. I started off with all the trim, excessively seeded bud I didn't feel like sorting after I'd collected enough.

First I collected the dry sift, then the seeds. Next I ran what was left through some iso. Then I dried it down completely next to the furnace where it stays pretty cool but air is incredibly dry. I'd read the fan leaves also had mostly cbd so after harvesting a few plants I saved all the fans and added it to this. I powdered this collection of different additions added it to water and salted butter and pressure cooked for about 35 minutes.

I strained the butter for other things and on a lark I ate some. It was delicious, like spinach or amaranth greens. I didn't eat too much only a teaspoon. A couple hours later I was feeling real relaxed with no THC euphoria, just super comfy.

Now I eat a bite with dinner, and later on have a pipe. The relaxation is really nice and lasts through the night while I sleep like a baby long after the high is gone from smoking.

And the taste, it's hard to only eat a spoon, gives a new meaning to the word potherb!

I wonder if that's the cbd?I never had cbd extracts

The hands down best insomnia med I’ve ever smoked was the original Blackwater. It wasn’t narcotic, it didn’t even really get me high, but if I laid in bed and smoked half a bowl I was asleep in a blink.

Unfortunately something changed and the new backwater has a fruity kind of smell, doesn’t put me to sleep, and is super mediocre.

If you find blackwater that smells earthy… that’s the ticket to sleepy town, at least for my wife and I.

Just harvested a RD starkiller, the only seed that popped from the 12 pack and that is serious sleepytime stuff, seems to cut through whatever you'd been smoking before and in 40 Min your ready for bed.

I find it helps to put a day's worth of buds in the sun in the window, somewhere where they only get morning sun. So they don't get roasted in the afternoon.

Then it's really dry and crumbles easily.

Particle size is REALLY important for any combustion, including Cannabis combustion.

The downside being, you might get too much smoke and cough or something.

I am currently running a pheno hunt on 6 Star Killers. Would love to hear more abut this strain.

They have 10 weeks listed as finish time?
There is supposedly a green and a purple pheno?
Whats the smell?
Whats the taste?
Can you compare the potency to anything else you have grown.
Any info appreciated.

@hamstring hey man, I got a green pheno. Flowering time from seed was 10 weeks but I didn't get a strong smelling plant, sweetish Kush smell and the taste is about the same. Very decent yeilder, slightly above average flower to leaf ratio and arms that aren't rubbery like on some other Kush plants I've had

Effect is very nice, stone sets quite quickly and is dense from the start, I find it very similar to black triangle but more narcotic. I'm going to try a few other RD strains after this, I hope you find something nice in your batch man.

Hey brother thanks. I'm only in the third week of flowering from seed. I appreciate the info because its had to come by on this strain.

No smell as of yet in the third week and some phenos have way better side branching than others. I like side branching because I use the LST in my grows.

I took clones and this one shoots roots in as little as 5 days for some of them. Easiest plant to clone that I have had the pleasure of growing.I will keep you posted as I move forward.

Two best strains I've come across for helping with sleep are K.O. Pink and Death Bubba. K.O. Pink is appropriately named, as it has a tendency to knock you out. I roll joints that are between 1/3-1/2 of a gram and I have yet to get more than halfway through a joint of K.O. without feeling K.O.ed

For me, the Death Bubba wasn't as effective at getting me to sleep, but once I was asleep the Death Bubba kept me there for a solid 8 hours.
Of course all of that is potency dependent. The K.O. Pink I smoke weighs in at 37.8% THC and 4.15% total terpenes. Very nice for dealing with neuropathy too.

Sorry to hear about your difficulties sleeping 🙏 I would suggest Pakistani varieties as they had they most sedative effects I have ever encountered. Pakistani Pershawar by far the sleepiest strain, I had to be in bed to smoke it because I would just pass out right after smoking it. I got the seeds from Bodhi.

Best of luck on your journey!!

The reason I prefer K.O. Pink (and other high end Pinks) is it serves two roles. It helps immensely with my neuropathic pain as well as acting as a strong sedative. But I do thank you for the suggestion. I'm always scoping for "new" medicinally effective strains. It sure won't hurt giving it a try.
My biggest problem is [non-narcotic] sedation is pointless when my neuropathy is acting up.

Ive read that pure landrace hashplants do wonders for insomnia. PCK from Ace. Khalifa has the balkh and sheberghan.

Always good to have your choice variety around! I understand what you mean, I suffer from a musculoskeletal disease that causes me a lot of pain and I too require a medicine that can help me fall asleep and stay asleep. Hope the flowers continue to help you with your needs 🙏

Nothing has topped these for me yet

1. Cheese (a real special pheno floating around Austin still, even knocked out a 7' tall 350lb man we know, for me it was an immediate 6 hour nap, didn't matter if i just had the best 10 hour sleep ever, drool puddle on the pillow)

2. Stardawg Guava (devastating, so heavy)

3. Alien OG (falling asleep in the lawn chair on the patio)

Was this the khalifa version or a different one? just curious
Hey RobFromTX - it was the Kwik seeds version. It was nice but nothing that really stood out to me as sleepy, though I only grew one female so there is surely something heavier there beyond my extremely limited experience with the line. 🙏
