Most narcotic strain against insomnia

if you can't sleep did you try other means of restoring? meditation perhaps? to actually meditate is rather hard i'd say, but it can take the edge off considerably. besides, it is boring, and boredom may be one of the best sleep aid if you don't give up and begin seeking something to entertain yourself.
when did this happen to you?

Indeed meditation is definitely good for clearing the mind. I've tried self hypnosis, yoga, exercising, diet change, you name it. It feels like it has a life all its own. Boredom has nothing to do with me being able to sleep. I can be totally exhausted with my mind begging to shut down and I just can't close the deal.

I remember when I was a little kid getting tired and feeling myself drift off and go to sleep. It feels like that is totally gone now, like a component in the my brain is either broken or missing altogether. It doesn't feel totally anxiety triggered, in fact some of the stressful nights I've been able to sleep when I can't during others.

It started for me around 15 years ago with it gradually getting worse in time. Part of it was that when I was younger I could pull an all nighter and shake it off. Now it just totally kicks my ass. It often feels like the more tired I am the harder it is to sleep. I know that doesn't make sense but it seems to behave like that.

When most people get to a certain point of tiredness or exhaustion they just crash. I've had lots of people doubt the level of my insomnia and say things like "you need to wake up earlier/go to bed earlier" or "you need to exercise more and you won't be able to stay awake." It doesn't work like that for me. You are right though, that is an important observation.

it is sure not black and white and simple. i've been told by one alpinist that there is a point for him when he got insomniac because he strained himself too much. then his body can not recover and replenish itself because of no sleep. he learned how not to get into this vicious cycle. that is just an example that things doesn't always work as superficial everyday logic tells us.

besides, the system we live in makes every effort to disconnect us from ourselves. both physical and spiritual selves - and makes us believe that we don't know a thing about our body and we need advices from medical "pros" who knows better. we need to counteract and learn how to listen our body, to reconnect with it. your observation to me is a sign of that reconnection.

I read through most of these replies a found that a lot of the genetics posted in some of the responses are way outdated!
To be honest the best genetics are coming from the US and not some Dutch SeedBank’s or Spain bait and swap hemp seeds lol
I’m a insomniac and OG kushes do it for me! ( loompa headband and triangle kush to be exact) but there’s a lot of breeders working with those 2 strains! For example Skunkhouse genetics(tk Larry)(Larry ruttiger)(SoCal pure larry)!! All of these will put you down down for the count! One pack is all you need to find several winning phenos to match what your looking for!

Yea..
There's no "dutch genetics" in OG Kush at all
..Except for shit load of NL and Superskunk

On the topic of insomnia, how bad is it for everyone here? For me it's a chronic condition I've lived with for the past 15 years with it getting very bad the past few. I turned the lights out at midnight last night and tossed around wide awake all night til 7 in the morning. I often go a day or two without sleeping at all. 4 days is my record with it causing visual and auditory hallucinations. I've done sleep studies and am seeing a sleep specialist, which so far has gotten me nowhere. This really is no way to live.
As for pharma drugs, I use Zopinox, which helps you to fall a sleep, but isn't so heavy as normal sleeping-pills. I have never tried any proper sleeping pills. The problem with Zopinox is that you build a tolerance to it, and for me after 3 weeks of continuous use it stops working.
..but you can work with the tolerance build up by not taking it two-three nights a week.

Another problem with Zopinox is that it won't keep you sleeping the whole night, if your problem includes waking up many times at night. The fastest i have woken up after a Zopinox pill is 1,5-2 hours.

Yea, i have also had bad sleeping disorder almost 15 years now and i know what you're going thru, my friend. Bad nausea (..like a hangover about 4 months straight is my record), muscle ache/spasms, hallucinations when it gets really bad. I start seeing "auras" around objects/people and hazy colored spots/blobs when it gets really bad.
No wonder CIA uses sleep deprivation as torture.

People who sleep normally REALLY don't get it how bad not-sleeping will fuk people up. Meditation and "long walks" may help if you have a small sleep disorder but OUR KIND get next to no help from those.
Sure healthy living and getting your ass out the door is good for you, but i can't spend hour after hour outdoors till i get the "fresh air poisoning" that will make me sleepy, which you will get from hard work outdoors.

My sister also has a sleeping disorder, not nearly as bad as mine i understand, and she got some help by eating a large warm meal close to bed time. This helps me abit as well, but hasn't been a miracle cure.

Hope you can find something that helps, amigo.

I certainly get very intense nausea from time to time as well as dizziness and headaches from lack of sleep. The hallucinations I get are usually seeing things move in my peripheral vision and hearing sounds followed up by a brief echo. I definitely feel like many people who haven't been through this think I'm exaggerating or making this up. Even most doctors don't seem to quite get it. It's a very brutal condition for sure.

Thanks for the support guys.

Hi

i have try som different high cbd strains
also normal strong indicas

i have insomnia many years.
My medicine dont bite anymore

i have only grow one plant that got med sleep heavy and pretty quick. It was super narcotic.
Problem it was from a mixpack seeds, dont know name :(

Please suggest me an easy grow super narcotic strain .
i really need sleep

best regards jrelax
Long time ago I grew Aurora Indica from Nirvana, which is a backcross of Northern Lights with Afghani #1. They call it their strongest indica.

Very heavy stone, impossible to keep your eyes open for a couple of hours.

The stone had a sativa streak in the background which made your mind race while you were stoned. I found the experience both harrowing and educational, because indicas weren't my thing. I liked the more soaring high of a sativa landrace. Indicas usually drag down the high.

Anyway, it is worth a try and the seeds are cheap.

Smoking might help you fall asleep but it's not very high quality apparently. I say that as someone who often smokes before bed. I never thought it was much of an issue, I usually feel fine the next day and it helps me fall asleep fast which is nice. But recently I've learned it isn't as helpful as it might appear, and might actually mess things up a bit.

The main problem is cannabis inhibits certain stages of REM sleep, which is why most of us don't have or remember having dreams. Might not seem like a big deal, and to me it certainly didn't seem like anything to lose sleep over - no pun intended - but it seems to be a canary in the coal mine. Not remembering or having dreams is a sign you likely didn't get enough REM sleep. Which happens to be the kind of sleep your body needs to actually benefit from... sleeping!

I've never had insomnia so I can't comment specifically on what might help with that issue but in my experience the following strains, among others, are all capable of doing the Sandman's work...

Orange Kush
Herijuana
OG Kush
ECSD taken at 12 weeks
Lucifer OG/Biker Kush
88G13HP and certain hybrids

You just learned about it, huh. Read about it from the internet? One of those scientific studies, perhaps?

Believe me, when you start having hallucinations after months and months of bad sleep, you will surely notice sleep helped with cannabis will freshen you up!

You say you don't suffer from insomnia, yet you're lecturing OUR KIND on quality of sleep with cannabis. Come on. Do you think i wanna see dreams when i'm exhausted from insomnia; when noises and all kind of visual input seems to be "over loading" my system already, fuck no! I want the BLACK, sleep without dreams and atleast 12 hours of it, thank you.

Following the recent mountain lion attacks, I bow to the intelligence of the birds,

and let the big ones roost on top of some metro shelving in the dining room.

2 hens & 1 rooster.

I have to make sure I turn off all the lights in that part of the house.

The rooster is a sure cure for insomnia. But in the wrong direction.

I find "vacation behavior" helps insomnia. Reading a novel from a writer you normally never read except on vacation.

Going swimming, taking a long hot bath. Avoiding anything like weightlifting - I find cardio behavior in a semi-weightless environment like a pool helps.

Also, making sure you don't go to bed hungry.

Real kush can only be indica. It's named for the Hindu Kush mountains in Afghanistan/Pakistan, where only indica grows historically. OG Kush though, it's just hijacking the name, it's a sativa dominant hybrid

OG Kush there is so many today.

The original is 55-60% Sativa i have read.

And some people sleep well with OG kush. Its different for each one.

Most of OGs i read about is indica dominant, they are not original.

Master Kush is 90-95% Indica, White Label seeds.
Maybe this Master Kush is good for Sleep ?

There is also Breeders who have Master Kush only 70% Indica.

The White Label is almost pure Indica.

i think this is also must try = White Label - Master Kush, also awaible Feminized :)

From what I've observed good quality high brix organic bud will let you pick when to sleep regardless of strain. Just relax and do what you want. Good Cannabis is relaxing even if it's stimulating. If your Cannabis isn't improving your life it's either crappy modern hype garbage that isn't worth smoking, or not grown well at all, possibly both. Stick with 90-2005 era strains grown in soil by hobbiests/lifestyle growers, you cant go wrong.

There is no strain on earth that will put me to sleep within the hour like some people define as "good weed", whether I get sleepy in a couple hours is a different story, but smoking more always wakes me back up, regardless of strain. Yet I could still choose when to sleep. Not just me, everyone in my circle, so it's the quality not the individual. Only the women pass out when they don't want to. I've stayed up til sunrise smoking Bubba or purp, and went to sleep at 8 after smoking Jack or Haze.

Its all supposed to be relaxing smoke that regulates your life under your consent. If it's not, reconsider your sources

I suffer from insomnia. What rasputin said has merit.

When you dont dream you get no rem sleep, which is what you need to rest and heal.

The more shit I take to sleep the worse my sleep quality is.

If I can't go to sleep I will do whatever I have to, xanax, attivan , valium, whatever. But that sleep in no way compares to working or hunting until exhaustion smoking a joint and falling asleep a couple hours later.

These are personal observations, not something I have read.:tiphat:

I agree, heavy use can dull the quality of sleep, but when you're dealing with severe insomnia you're in a ballpark all of your own. When you're desperate enough and have to somehow function you'll do whatever it takes to get some shuteye. I guess it's one of those situations where you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. Insomnia is brutal.
