I have had a strain that was close to that color outdoors,it was a frost hardy sativa,but nothing that "black". Looks great...let us know how it smokes.

you are for sure the first Mossy.

That trait is so very rare, I have only seen it a few times,, and it is more then one trait at play here, first you have the color of the flowers and then the color of the leaves which always seems to be controlled by 2 different genes, and GOOD LORD is that me or is the RESIN itself fucking PURPLE??? Or cristal clear so you can see the purple color underneth?

Well great work Mossy,, i didnt expect you to lock it down so fast, I saw you working on a few like this months ago but very good,, TELL me you have her pollenated by a matching Black MALE????

ICC,, the trichs are white according to mossy:

What you asked in mail..she is white tric'd ATM..
(JEM-grandmother) carries a self colour tric in the purple so there is a chance that I could get her out self coloured which would increse the black colour density..
But I think given the chance..
I'd prefer to keep her trics as it gives the bud much better definition.
What do you think..?

I never got to frost test them before..but this year we have been in the minus's on night temps and they didn't flacker.

There is a True black (bud) in the JEM line with a black/gold leaf...
I have only had it out in Non-AF..but I know it is there.
Maybe a DC into the Red you have out in the JEM could magnify the true black..
I think our Friend may have some DC sitting about..

Presto_D..the non-af Black was the high reedy smell that I truely associate with high kush dom..
but I smelt the AF for you this morning..and was most surprised to find that she has a funky skunky smell...not exactly what I was expecting.

ICC..forget the AF portion for the minute..
those two black girl are two Different phenos..
I just clicked when we were talking about the smell.

The non-af was typical kush framed..all buds growing to the same level..like a shelf..
typical kush smell/taste..
ultra indy.
AND..she had a very distinctive leaf trait.

The AF is a very different leaf..
she carries None of the distinct leaf trait
different frame shape..
different Smell.

IF I could "hybrid" them out as they stand..then they would be two distinct/genetically different plants.
Trait/shape/dominance..they are poles apart..
the only thing they have in common is the Colour..

Am I right..?

but i'm seeing your purple plants and the shade of purple looks incredible. it's darker than what you had a year ago.

and he is right.
The black non af dc was a Black dominant Red..with the sun behind her you can see the volume of red in her..

and the AF is a Black dominant Purple.

I've got 2 DIFFERENT Blacks haven't I....

Wow. I want a scratch and sniff screen.
Those two are certainly different. Even the black AF's leaves are different than the one you held up across it for contrast, but I am just assuming those two were from similar gene pools.
I will post bazillions of pictures for you once I grow mine, I just don't want to start too early..As a newb grower that would be a mistake.
