It is strange that a name that was applied to create a negative is still used today, even by the community. One that gets me is "Medical Marijuana." I guess it has a nice roll to it and is understandable for the most part.

It really should be called by its common and/or scientific name, Cannabis, even though it's more of a mouthful than weed, herb, pot, ganj, etc.

In my parts the common slang name is "pot," most know what you are talking about. Who knows where that name came from.
