Mixed lot for first grow...

Evenin all

Well after hanging around for a while and seeing all the mouth watering strains you're all growing it wasn't long before I had to give in to the temptation and do it myself :D

This is my first grow so please bear with me. I know the conditions I'm veging in are far from ideal, but I'm sure you can all remember back to your first grow and how exited you were to get them beans going rather than ensuring that the set up was perfect first :bat:

So as for my strains.....

I've got 3 strains of which I'm doing 2 each. 2 Very Berry Surprise, 2 pre release Jack Herer from Female Seeds and 2 randoms out of a Nirvana Indoor Mix pack.

They were soaked overnight on the 08.06. and put into moist tissue 09.06. They'd all broken theire shell by the 10th on which day I then popped em in jiffys.

They all broke ground on the 11.06. so I take that to be day 1.

1st transplant into propper pots was done on 18.06. Not sure what size the pots are, but now I've done it I think I bought them to big :badday: Never mind I'm not likely to overwater and will know better for next time.
For soil I used low fert seedling mix from our garden center mixed with 30% perlite, which is by the way a pain in the ass to get hold of in Germany, as is mylar so again > :badday:

I've not build my cab yet I'm gonna do that this weekend. Dimensions will prob be around 1,5m x 80cm base and 1,85m high, running a 400w hps with remote ballast. For venting I was lucky and picked up a 660m³/h systemair inline fan of eBay for €52 :yoinks: :woohoo: I know that that's far more powerfull than I need but I'm planing on bigger things one day :D :joint:

So that takes us up to now. I've not done any ferting as the soil has a little in it. Only added some Rhizotonic for roots.

This is 25.06. VBS on the left, then Jack Herer then Indoor Mix:

25.06. Indoor Mix, looks like an indica...

Like I said I had a lightling problem so I have lots of stretch....

I must say that I'm f***ing amazed at the growth of these babys, I would have never imagined them to shoot like that :yoinks: So far I like the VBS best as they're most virorous aswell :canabis:

I'd like to thank everyone for theire help so far, I'm sure I'll be pestering you lot some more in the near future :bat: :D

Hey G nice for you to join

Just bought the wood for my cab, looks like it'll be a sturdy old thing I got 22mm thickness on special offer :yoinks: Might be quite good as it'll help to keep some of the noise of the fan in too :chin:

I'll start the build tomorrow and update pics as soon as it starts looking decent :D

You all have a nice weekend :joint:

Alex, I have a socket layin here that I use to remove the lug nuts on my car.It is 22mm so that is some really beefy lumber man.Should serve you well.I used two old doors for the sides of my flower cabinet and they really help in keeping things inside stable and all.Good luck.

Hi Alex
You mentioned fan noise and a light went off in my head. Some of the noise can be amplified by the wood in the cab - resonance issues. Somewhere here I read to put some rubber under the fan mounting.. Went to the hardware store and they actually had a small package of material to deaden noise for mountings, had like 1 and 2 mil rubber and cork large squares. I cut them to fit the footprint of the fan mounting, a sandwich of rubber/cork/rubber. Works great.

Have a great weekend!

on the fan noise thing...when I put my extractor in the flower room, i fixed it straight ti the beams i=on the ceiling...big maistake, as soon as I switched it on you could FEEL, not hear FEEL it vibrating through the floorboards, and so could the neighbours! so, i took it down while ki figured what to do...I ended up settl;ing for the old bungee starps method....now i have no noise at all coz it gets soaked up by the elastic! just an idea for you, dunno how it would work out in a cab but you will suss something out man.
those pots dont look to be too big mate, id say they are ideal for some nice root development! they might have been too big if you planted the seeds straight in em but you used jiffys yes??
Hope it all turns out fantastically for you mate.
Hiya blue..;..Bye blue
LOL, Cya every1

Mr GJ & Harry  Harry's allready mentioned what I had planned, suspending the thing on bungees should do the trick :joint:

We will see. If I have any probs I'll be back to ask for help :D
