One more week to go!!

One more week to go!!

Well they are down to the wire now and I am getting ready to start flushing on Monday and they will come down on Saturday the 14th.
I just juiced them up with a MAX feed yesterday for that last push for the end and I could see a difference just overnight.I can't wait to see what they do over the next few days. You will see in the pics that they are very done and I am pushing every little bit out of them that I can get.
So here they are in all their glory, LOL!

The clones for the next round are kicking along pretty good too after a week in the new setup. There is one at the second from the left in the front that was the top of the citurs pheno mother that is lagging a bit. The stem was very woody so the roots were slow to come out, but I stuck it in there anyway and there are a couple roots sticking out of the center plug finally. It will come along fine I am sure. The rest are going to town with tons of roots coming out of the grodan blocks. I will have to post a shot of that soon.

Then there is the purple pheno mother that will be ready for the following round. In the cloner next to it are a couple purple pheno cuttings that I took to make little mothers out of so that I will be sure to have enough cuttings when I need them.

Well that is it for this week. I will probably wait till harvest day to get any more pics. I can't wait, or then again yes I can.:muahaha:

Well it is all harvested now. I didn't get as much flushing as I wanted to get, but when the plants are ready you have to move on it. And these girls were ready as hell. There was actually more bud than I thought there was going to be once I got to cutting them down. No complaints there I assure you.
I will get some bud pics up in a day or two. Right now I am feeling my age and my back hurts, LOL!

Harvest Time

Harvest Time

Here are a couple shots of the mess. God I wish I had an area just for this part of the grow. The next location WILL have at least a large walkin closet that will be used for drying/curing only.

The ones on the yellow rope are the lower portions of the plants which are full of nice bud too. The "prime" bud is all on the two racks.
Going to be a few days of trimming on these girls.

Round 3 is in

Round 3 is in

Well I took a days off to trim buds before I got everything cleaned and the new plants in. But they are in now. I have 8 of the pheno that I used for the last grow and 4 of the citrus pheno in the middle. I am hoping that since the citrus pheno is a bit lankier that it will allow for more space for the main pheno to spread out and also allow more light penetration.
The new ebb and flow setup is going to work great. It gave me a nice head start on my vegg time. Here are a couple pics to show the different between the start of the last grow and this one.

Last time they were freshly rooted clones>

This time they had a few weeks in the ebb and flow>

I still have 1 clone/mother of the main pheno(back left), citrus pheno(Front left) and 2 of the purple phenos on the right that will be used for cuttings on the next grow.

I have a 5 gallon bucket of buds curing from this latest harvest that I will get some pics of soon.

Happy Growing.

Mist, Props on the great grows. I have been following your grows and have been very impressed. How was the yeild off the last run? How are you liking your new e&f table? I know you use canna aqua but I don't remember if you use ro water? Also, I just picked up some new bottles of the Aqua and found that the formula has changed slightly. The flores has more nitrogen in it now. I'll be followin this grow as well. Lookin great!

Thanks CovertCrops. My best guestimate on this latest grows harves is approx. 40 ounces. I won't know for sure till it is all finished curing though.
The ebb and flow table is great and doing exactly what I got it for, which was to give me a head start on my vegging for each grow.
I don't use RO water here, but will be in the future when I move to another location. And I hadn't noticed that Canna had changed their formula any. I will have to go and check my nute bottles and see what it up. I may still be using the older formula though since I have no idea how much my local store keeps in stock so I may not see the newer formula for a while.

Happy Growing.

Well things are rolling along here nicely. My prime pheno is finally getting back into the proper vegg mode. It was my own fault that it got alll weird on my though. I let the mother get waaaaayyy too big and then it started trying to go into flower while on 24hr light. OOPS!
So after several weeks in vegg the clones are just starting to go back to 5 fingered leaves instead of the 1 and 3 fingered. They are still covered with preflowers which is a trait of the Black Russians anyway.
The citrus pheno isn't having that problem and so far neither is the purple pheno. I a being very carefull not to let that happen with the purple by taking cuts to make new mothers so that they don't get too old and start the preflower shit.

The main tent is kicking ass right now with the 4 middle plants being the citrus pheno. I am just hoping that with the training I am giving them that they don't stretch too much and overgrow the prime pheno's on the outside rows. Should be interesting.

This is just an odd pic I took. I just love the way the citrus pheno looks as a plant with the purple stripes all through the main stem.

Here is the main tent with all the happy girlies.

Then their are the mothers big and small. I am running Botanicare TriFlex nutes in my ebb and flow system with the 4 small mothers. It came with the system and the Canna is so expensive compared to Free that I thought I would save some money by using it. Works well by the look of the plants. Hell, it is only for vegging mothers. LOL!

Prime and cirtus pheno's are the bigger ones and the two purple "soon to be mothers" are on the right.

Then there is the purple mother that is just going to town in her own DWC bucket and floro lights.

Happy Growing.

I am going to switch my nutrients from Canna to Pure blend Pro on this grow. I had been thinking of using it with this system from the start, but had gone with the canna because of all the good things I heard about it. So far the Canna has performed quite well in all areas except for smell and flavor. Those seem to be on the low end with my just finished grow. The bud will lay you out after just a few hits on the pipe though. So that isn't an issue at all.
So I am going to put the Canna aside and run this grow with the Pure Blend Pro to see how it performs. I am hoping that the pure blend's higher organic levels will give me what I am looking for.
And I can always go back to the Canna if I don't like the results, LOL. Not like they are going to stop selling it or anything.
Oh yea, some other pluses with the Pure Blend Pro are first of all the price which is less than half the cost of Canna for a grow. And another is that the Pure Blend is a one part nutrient. I will be running some additives too. Such as Liquid Karma, Cal-Mag Plus and Sweet.
I think that I will leave the FoxFarm trio of Open Sesame, Beastie Bloomz and ChaChing alone on this grow and just see how it does on it's own the all the Botanicare products. I had the same issue with smell and taste on the first round with the Canna nutrients so I don't think the use of the ChaChing had any negative effect on the final product of the second grow.

Hope you don't mind I tag along for the ride, I am interested to see what you think of the PBP. I used PBP with tap water and had the happiest plants to date. Great grows and I wish you luck in the next one.

GNATS, GNATS, GNATS!!!!

GNATS, GNATS, GNATS!!!!

Damn gnats showed up in the garden today. I had noticed some of the little buggers flying around in the kitchen and living room, but didn't see any in the grow room after several searches. So I couldn't figure out where the hell they were coming from. Then today I was moving some cut flowers in a vase that my wife had gotten the other day and there were a bunch hanging around on them and down in the vase. So I figured that they had come in on the since the weather had been cold and when the flowers get cut at the greenhouses in the morning they can easily have some gnats hiding out in the leaves and flower pods. And they won't become active till they get to a nice warm place LIKE MY HOUSE, LOL!
So anyhow, I went into the grow room today after finding them in the flowers and when I was moving one of the plants on the ebb and flow table I noticed that there were several hiding out on the underside of the leaves. DAMMIT!!!!!!!
I treated that system with gnatrol and checked out the main tent and found none after about 30 minutes of poking around. So I am thinking that I caught them before they had a chance to take hold. I was switching my Ebb&Gro system nutes over the the Pure Blend Pro today so I went ahead and added a light dose of gnatrol to the mix just to be sure. The ebb and flow table was somewhat my fault in the sense that I gave them the perfect enviroment to live in. I had taken a couple of the small mothers I have in there and put the 4" grodan blocks into net pots that were half filled with hydroton. So that gave the gnats a perfect place to hide, breed and lay eggs.
I had not seen any kind of bug in there since early april when I started my first run here. Oh well, all good things must come to an end.

Now there will be no more cut flowers in the house. The wife made that rule. She understand the importance of not having bugs since she had a couple infestations in her own grows while we were seperated for a while.

On a lighter note, the plants look good after the switch to PBP and several feeding have come and gone.

So here is what happens when you get a bit too crazy with the bug spray. I had several gnats flying around the ebb and flow system tent and I grabbed the Raid flying insect spray and went after they little asses. Well I got a little (of maybe way) too exuberant in my chasing and spraying the bugs and made a pass under the light hitting two of the mother plants I have going in there. I sprayed them with the mist setting on the hose a few minutes later, but it was too late and some of the leaves had already started curling over and turning black. I halted that pretty much and I know the plants will grow out of it in a few days though. Just for reference sake I was only meaning to spray the flat surfaces around the flood table to kill them when they landed. Things just got a bit out of hand when some decided to take flight like a flock of ducks and buzz around in my face.
Here they are in their damaged state.

I didn't get the two smaller purple mothers though and they are looking great. Should be ready to take a few cuttings off them in a couple more weeks.

The main tent is looking great. I didn't spray anything in there, LOL!

Got the large tent on 12/12 now so in 8 weeks I will be a happily harvesting again. Everything is going like clockwork and the plants are really liking the Pure Blend Pro.
This will probably be the last run with the main pheno. It has become problematic in taking so much time to get back into proper vegg mode. The citrus pheno and the purple pheno are not having this issue so they will stay on. The purple will probably end up being the main pheno with it's huge stems and great taste and smell, it was born to be a good producer. The citrus pheno is not a great producer at this point, but I will see what it can do in this current grow since I have 4 of them in there. It too has huge thick stems which I would love it the buds were big too.
There are also some new additions to the garden on the way. Afghani 1 and G-Bomb will soon be joining the team. Should be interesting.

Another thick as hell canopy going again. I can't wait till after the first of the year when I have much more space to work with and can give the plant sites the space they really need to give a proper yield. Just have to be patient, LOL.

With and without lights on.

The two extra purple mothers are really looking great and I am liking the larger pots in the ebb and flow table. The cubes just weren't working out for long term growing in there. At least not for me.

I didn't train the main pheno at much this time and just did some while the plants were small. Then I let the limbs stretch out a bit and it looks like I will get better light penetration this way. Got to mess with them to find the right combination.
You can see in these pics that there are a bunch of limbs up to the top of the canopy. 11 to be exact on this particular plant. Now I just have to wait and see if they fill in for me.

http://www.icmag.com/ic/picture.php?albumid=5755&pictureid=235986 The stretch is on!!

These plants are already bigger at 6 days of flowering than the last rounds were at the end. So Things are probalby going to get a little wild in there over the next few weeks. May even call for another layer of netting. We will see.

Everything is looking nice and health with the PBP. No issues so far. The taller ones in the middle are the Citus pheno.

I have been working dilligently on getting the lower parts trimmed out. Still have the back row to go, but I am just too dam big to fit in there. Thank god for long arms!

You can see that I let the main pheno get leggier this round. I am hoping that it will allow more light penetration this time. The thick ass canopy the last round gave me pretty much only the tops to work with.

A couple shots of my purple mother, little purple mothers, burned to hell with bug spray prime pheno mother, citrus pheno mother that had little to no damage from the bug spray.

And a parting shot just because it is so pretty when the lights first start to come on.

Happy Growing.

Mist, Looking great. How are you liking the PBP? Are you using anything else with it? Did you eliminate the rw cubes completely? what are you using to veg your plants in if not the blocks? They are off to a great start.

Thanks CovertCrops!

The Pure Blend Pro is doing great. It is simple to use too. With it I am using Liquid Karma(of course), Cal-Mag Plus, and Sweet. I will probably be adding a small amount of ChaChing and/or KoolBloom powder in the later part of the grow. Other than that I want to just see what the base setup and then maybe add something to it.

I haven't eliminated the rockwool blocks for staging plants in the ebb and flow unit. The ones that are in the pictures are mothers and had outgrown the 4X4X3 rockwooll cubes they were in and needed more root space, so the 6" pots came into play.
I will be using cubes again when I do the clones for the next grow. It is just too easy to move them right over to the Ebb&Grow unit like that.

As I said at the beginning of this grow diary, this is just a test ground for this setup. I will be doing the same thing only with two 24 site Ebb&Grow systems and a couple 4x8 ebb and flow tables. New strains have also been ordered which are Afghani 1 and G-Bomb since both have compact straight up growth and large yields. I will be keeping this current strain going too though.

Happy Growing.
