Yup, a 9 oz shot sounds about right for you! That is what? Quadruple what the norm is, right???? And I have a stupid question for Y'all....again....My swimming pool of mixed organic soil in the garage is almost gone....it was full-full...wouldn't hold another "shot glass"...LOL Need to mix more, but that is NOT the problem! I'm getting ready to flip 12 plants to flower, so in approx. 2 months (duh LOL) I will have 120 gal or so of used soil...I've been told this is still living soil (duh again! LOL)....Now the question is this: How do you amend the used soil??? I have read page after page of How-To's & damn near all say something different!! And I trust you Guys more than I trust some web site! Need to mix up more for next round so it is ready in 2 months but the used??? Suggestions please....I know this is NOT an organic thread but most of you are running organics....Thanks!

I have not tossed any soil out in the last two years, the closest I have come is putting some in my worm farm.
This last time I took 1 bucket of used soil, and add one bucket (1/3 compost, 1/3 worm castings & 1/3 aeration). And for every CF (1&1/2 buckets), I added 1 cup, alfalfa, neem meal, crab meal, a couple of cups rock dust, and 2 cups of my fert mix. Mix and cook as normal, my soil is getting better and better, I have only added water to my plants in atleast the last year.

First results have come in on my seed sexing trials.
I planted 5 - Halo 2x looking for 5 males.
I picked the ragged oblong shaped calderas to do this.
Resulting in 3 males - 2 females.
Bummer, seems finding males are not better than the normal seed planting.
The Nocs I sexed for females are still coming in.
They seem to be female dominant, but haven't sexed them all yet.
Once I have a solid number, I'll let everyone know.

Don't think SG's around at the moment, but I scuff em... the sides get scuffed... not the "door" or "hinge" sides of the seed... just enough to take off the shine and dull em... I use 600 grit auto sandpaper... especially helpful for old seed or some hybrids that have unusually thick seed coats... Gauge Green calls for scuffing specifically for some of his seeds.... thick coats.

When you get some time ole yoda of the weed, please expand on scuffing a seed. Is there a certain technique or location? I am interested in this knowledge.

As far as seeds:
No voodoo skills needed.
Scuffing my seeds probably won't give me better results.
69 sprouted out of 71 planted recently, can't be improved by much.
Like I've always taught, simple techniques trumps all others.
Keys to near perfect seed planting are easy.
Base mix of soil, good water, temps between 70-75F.
Seeds planted directly at 1/2".
No voodoo dances, no chicken bones, no magic.

I use an old jewelry box like you get when you buy a necklace or what not, linned that with sandpaper, put the seed in, shake the shit out of it, remove seed from box, soak seed for 24 hours, then plant. Is it needed, probably not, but it has been working.

Damn worms r a funny thing. I cant get over the smell thing. Due to temps, bin has to be in the already cramped building, wifey said "that is gonna stink up everything". The compost is doing its thing and no smell.... I have been feeding them a variety of fresh veggies, fruits(no skins), coffe and tea grounds, ground up leaves and some dried grass clippings. Just bout time for another bin addition. How long does it take for the bottom to start getting liquid in it? My compost is moist but not soggy.
Stop adding food.
Worms are like fish.
Feed them too much, and food starts rooting in their tank/box.
Let them eat what they have for a month or when you don't see too much food.
Add everything into your compost for now.
Let the compost pile do the work until your worms get busy.
I have lots of worms in my compost.
They are eating and breeding like crazy.
Their poopies excellerate the composting process from the nitrogen in the poopies.
Make sure your compost gets turned every week.
If it starts to rot and go anaerobic, worms exit the pile.

Slow but getting there.
Flower rooms will be full in 2-3 weeks.
Excited about the pheno runs fo sho.
Gonna be a lot of smoke testing in 3 months.

Here's my Sanctuary Gardens plants. They're only babies but they won't stay that way for long.
Goblin Queen
This plant has a little bit of leaf twisting but not much. It looks like it will straighten out. It also has different coloration in the leaves.
