Got blessed with some GG, GQ and Ravnus buds.

I kinda failed at the git go this round, but still got bud. just a smaller yield.
It smells so good in the jars.

There's no quit in you, that's obvious.
You're just gonna get better and better.
Once you master this craft, you'll have world quality stash.
At this point, your own stash = priceless.

I've had a catastrophic failure and need advise. We had a power outage in the middle of the night. My rooms are in my garage. Temps were -25c and by the time I got to them, the room temp had dropped below freezing. It wasn't for long and it seems as though the plants are all alive, but most fan leaves are toast on most of them. Because of the power outage, the light cycle for my veg and my flower plants are totally messed. I got them warmed up and under lights now, but they are all together. Half were flowering, half were vegging. What state is best for recovery from this? Veg or can I just flower them all out? My preference is to flower everything right now, all together...

All you can do is get them back to proper temps.
The veggers new growth may recover, just not the existing leaves.
Not sure on buds, time will tell.
Easy on the water, as they won't drink much since the main leaf mass is non functioning.

Put a cheap 3500 wt generator on your Christmas list.
About $400 and 10 gals of fuel is the only future insurance.
Cheaper solution is a propane catalytic heater.
That's about $45 plus the tank and fuel.
Doesn't run lights but keeps up the temps.

Lessons are hard learned in this playing god stuff.
Hope they recover for you :(

Thanks SG. I have both items already, but the power failure was at 3am and nobody knew until I got chilly, around 5. I got them warmed up and under lights and am throwing together 2 rooms tonight. They all look as though they'll survive, but I'm sure it's gonna take a while to get them over this. My new plan is to install an emergency light that will wake me up incase of another power outage. Now that they are in my house, extreme temps in a power failure are less of a concern. Me next spring I'll re design my outdoor rooms. I think in floor heating in a poured slab is my best bet. The thermal mass being able to keep the rooms warm for a while during power out situations. Heat the water with a propane hot water tank so minimal power is needed for the circulating pumps. All I need then is to wire in an auto start system for the generator, incase I'm not home.

Thanks again for the advice. This disaster has prompted me to start a bunch more seeds. Gonna germinate the rest of my Sanctuary Gardens gear. ;)

Wow wut some crappy weather. B safe SG family. I finished the floor plans for my building. I this will fit my needs until learn something else better. Due to the nature of things, i added in a drying room to control smell. Been an issue with the dions. Probably going to have to put inline air movers in the ducting. Anyway if u c something that may be an issue let me know. Next is to draw the rooms with equipment and plan the wiring. Have to upload some pics.

make the middle one turn 2 corners to restrict its air flow... making it about the same distance for the air to travel as the others (from the central trunk).... and you've got a solid plan....

Could you just as easily use a smaller hole to restrict flow? How do you insure an even outflow all the way at the other end of the system? Booster fan midway? Outflow holes that get progressively larger the further away from the intake?

I want to get my mind wrapped around this.

There are a few vert ICers using subfloors. Fan for a vertical air column to keep the bulb heat from blowing on the plants.

WG i was going to install a couple of in line fans. Pappa the dk dion is really nice. The bottom of the leaves turn purple :woohoo:

If the subfloor ducting is properly pressurized, there should be no need for additional fans.... the CFM of the squirrel cage fan, divided by the number of vents should tell you basically how many cfm would move through each vent.... provided that you minimize air loss in the subfloor with PL, or actual ducting....

Basic Rule No. 1: Hot air rises, cold air falls.

Ducts should be installed to take maximum advantage of natural air movement. For instance, for air conditioning to work properly, air returns, the large ducts that carry air back to the central unit, need to be installed high up on the wall of each upper floor, to capture warmer air and return it for cooling. Efficient heating means installing a return at a low point on the first floor, to capture cooled air and return it for heating.

Registers that deliver warm air should be in the floor or low on the wall; registers to deliver cool air should be installed high up on the wall. (The best systems may require a mix.)

Basic Rule No. 2:

Ducts should be installed so they run as straight as possible from the basement to each register. That's because the more turns you make, the slower the air will move and the less air will be delivered to the register.

Basic Rule No. 3:

Every register should be fed directly from the central unit (or basement trunk line) by its own duct. If you stacked registers on a single duct on second and third floors, for instance, all the heat would go to the second floor.

Basic Rule No. 4:

Map out your duct path to upper floors before you start cutting any holes. Ducts should be able to run between studs in the wall and then turn into a joist bay (the space between two joists). Make sure the studs and bays line up well enough to leave a clear path.

Basic Rule No. 5:

When you make a turn, use a fitting designed for the purpose. That will keep the air moving efficiently. (An old-fashioned shortcut was to make square turns, but they cause eddies that reduce air movement.)

Basic Rule No. 6:

Plan heating ducts to emerge at external walls -- those are the coldest walls. Registers should be placed in the middle of the external wall (in the floor or low on the wall); if there are two external walls, both need registers in the middle. (If the room is tiny, one duct may work, even if there are two external walls.)

Basic Rule No. 7:

Ducts that run through unheated spaces should be insulated. An uninsulated duct will lose a lot of its heat on the way to the register. (This rule is especially important if you're putting an addition over an unheated crawl space.)


Friction created as air moves through the supply ducts produces inconsistent air pressure, especially when the design includes duct runs of varying length and size. By utilizing a symmetrical ductwork layout, all branching ducts are evenly-spaced along the central duct and of equivalent length and air volume. This evens out pressure loss per-foot due to friction throughout the ductwork, equalizing air flow

You should also use adjustable dampers on each floor register same as in your home.... the farther ones will be wide open... as you get closer to the air supply you damper them off more and more to equalize pressure throughout...

So here is a pic of soms stuff. My airpot is doing what i wanted it to. Gir scout cookies is what is in it. This plant is 26" tall still in the cabinet doing great. Nodes are a lot closer than the other one i startef at same time. Tht one is in five gl bkt nd stands five fedt tall with spaced out nodes. This pot maintains in its environment. I think airpots woul do very wel for motherplants.
