I love seeing the roots, in soil you just don't get to see the goodness. I think by the end of the week they should be showing sex. I checked on the "girls" tonight and it looks like they are about to start showing sign.
Sad news, the three clones that rootd for me, I set up another tub for them. two of the stems got crushed and they died. so down to one clone. Hopefully the donor is going to turn out to be a female. figures crossed.
Thought that it was time for some more pics. All three plants showed me what they are........GIRLS. Yiipppeee. I was actually kind of hoping of the plants would be male so I could yank it out and have more room for the other two, but no sense in wasting a perfectly good female. I can't figure out how to take macro shots with my camera so no close ups. I'll have to read the instruction book again. Anyways here are some more pics, still nothing interesting to really show yet, just a big bush
Just thought I'd give an update, it's been a little while since the last pictures. On july 17 it had been 1 week since my ladies showed me that they were ladies. Today is 5 weeks off 12/12. I think that this grow is going to take awhile to finish, i've never had plants take 3 1/2 weeks to show sex before, but oh well nothing that I can do about it. Just gonna be a long wait til chop day, but oh it'll be a good day. I might have to take apart my netting that I made. I'm running out of room the plants just keep growing getting taller and taller. I'm glad that I use cfl's or they'd be burnt to crap right now. If I cut the netting out, I'll be able to drop the plants about another 4-5 inches in the bottom tub. I can't see the plants needing any more room than that. I'm stubborn though and I don't want to ruin the netting. I've been bending some of the taller branches over and pinching the stems to try and keep some of the height down, but these things are persistent. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Everything other than running out of space is going great, plants are healthy and happy.
Time for some pictures.
i hear people say all the time not to mess with the heights after a certain period in flower, but i adjust mine, even radically, all the way to the end, so keep the big colas from running away with the show, and the little ones keep up. I don't know why, people say don't mess with em; it certainly doesn't seem to hurt mine, and from a 250 i pull 5 or 6 ounces, at times from some horrendous water management. That's 3 or 4 plants at a time; i'm bad about mixing breeds and overfeeding one or two of them while the other ones gobble up all they can get.
brainthor-- You are right, not even close to finished yet.
twowordz-- Will throw some pictures up later on tonight after the lights come back on.
I had to remove the screen, I had run out of room, buds were resting directly on the cfls. I had to lower the plants a bit and the screen wouldn't fit into the lower tub, so I had to remove it and down the plants went. I also ran into a powdery mildew problem over the lower parts of the plants, no buds effected. I did a bunch of thinning of the plant, removed most of the lower buds that weren't getting any light. I removed a lot of fan leaves which I'm not a huge fan of doing, but I removed them to allow for airflow in the tub. Other than everything that's happened still looking good.
As promised earlier today, here are some pictures. Just took them after lights on. The white froth in the picture of the roots is from carboload. Each time I use it for the next few days after I add it, I have all kinds of bubbles in the res.
