Milde's Smoking Lounge

Howzit! (That's how most english speaking South Africans say "hello/how are you?")

I've been a member here for a while now, lots of lurking, learning, made a few posts in the growing/dry buds forums, met a few new friends, found a few old ones, had to pick my jaw up of the ground more times than I can remember, got into an argument or two (I tend to speak my mind), the list could go forever ;)

The point I am slowly working towards is that I recently realised I have been ignoring the social side of this forum, treating it as a strictly educational tool for the most part. This realisation led me to the decision that change was necessary, and this thread is the embodiment of this realisation.

I'm blessed to live in a beautiful city that is straddled by a mountain range protected as a natural heritage site, a little unconventional but it's working so far! Very close to ocean and mountains, extremely scenic, if the laws regarding marijuana were different I might dare say paradise. :ying:

I'm going to be sharing pictures that I deem to be more lifestyle related than my dry budshots thread, sunsets, food, coffee, relaxing in nature, smoking with friends, etc. Anybody else is more than welcome to do the same, all pictures/opinions are welcome here! :tiphat: I would like this lounge to be full of friends smoking joints, vaporisers, pipes and glass bongs, calmly and contentedly chatting about marijuana, philosophy, developments in our culture, science and technology, breeding, social lives and whatever else tickles your metaphorical fancy!

I'll be on hand making as much virtual coffee as is required:dance013:

I would like this thread to picture heavy, as well as conversation heavy, so I will be uploading quite a few as we progress.

This is a "koppie" a small rocky hill, translated roughly it means "little head":

This is a sundey, type of carnivorous plant, they use bright red glandular trichomes to trap their prey:

Saw this lady on TV and envied her job, I think I'm qualified:
picture.php

A book I stumbled across, title means 'Meth Head' in English, and the child pictured has a popular local fish known as snoek draped over her (I think?) head..
picture.php

Local steel, I am a rehabilitated graffiti vandal and a few of my photo's will express this (no, none of the panels are mine, I choose my illegal hobbies, one at a time)

Nice vibes from the cape, china. How come cheese is so popular locally? And that shit tik - what is it and have you tried it? What do you love most about South Africa? What music is in the MP3 player. And is that rooi bos in the bong?

Cheese is popular because it yields, smells, smokes and looks great. And because growers seem to be unwilling to take the time to grow out seed and select new keeper phenos.

Tik is meth, speed, ice, and no I haven't tried it, it holds no appeal for me, although I have consumed my fair share of other amphetamines in the past.

What do I love most about SA? I can't answer that.

And no, no tea in my b, thanks ;)

Thanks man, I hope to keep the pictures coming, although the weather does get very shitty in mid winter and I tend to stay indoors.

And yeah, not a huge fan of heights, I edged out along there hella slowly :faint:

So what is the climate down there for Cannabis? Are there a lot of smokers there, too?

Climate is both favourable and not, many growers, large percentage of our population smokes, even a lot of our politicians come from rural areas and where put through school using funds from outdoor grows. Long history too, various cultural groups use marijuana traditionally, in the north of our country there are many fields of local herb growing that have been doing so for centuries, further towards the tip things get a little more first world as far as smoke goes, good indoor herb with no seeds is reasonably readily available, as well as top quality outdoor grown under the African sun (often masquerading as the former).

In the last couple years there have been a few dedicated people working towards legalisation (I do not consider myself to be one of them, I prefer to remain anonymous and removed for various reasons I'm sure I don't need to list here), The Dagga Couple being the most prominent (google it!), but the waters are still murky. Growers, dealers and smokers are often released and served with hefty fines if arrested, and jail terms are rare unless the judge is feeling particularly nasty, or the individual in question is a repeat offender. Large scale ops may not be treated as leniently, in a 2010 44kg indoor bust occured and protagonists recently got sentenced to 5 and 8 years respectively. May not sound like much but if you knew our jails you'd understand that can be as good as a death sentence.

Thanks for stopping by GS, enjoy reading your posts, and of course it's always good seeing old members around! (No, not like that, go and wash your mind out with soap)
