Yeah they're cool, they change colour according to mood and temperature, used to have them in a hybiscus tree at my old place, was funny to come outside after a morning smoke in winter and see the little chaps all cold, angry and purple, their way of expressing their feelings. They also go dark if you pick them up and they're not happy about it, pretty expressive...

So I hope you folks are starting to get a feel for what life at the tip of Africa might entail!
Thus far all the pictures have been on a positive theme, as the thread progresses I plan to share a few raw, grittier shots of this rough, beautiful country.

But for now, let's stick to the pretty imagery theme, local steel:

A dam I like to swim at when the weather is good:

There's something about wooden boardwalks..

An outdoor festival at the end of last year, before things got messy:

Jellyfish skateboard, anyone who was attending psy parties down here between 2005-8 will remember these critters:

totally diggin the pics Milde :) I especially liked the lizard, his coloring is a trip. One of the last pics, with the water in the desert, totally looks like Arizona. It's interesting seeing all these pictures of such a beautiful place..must be an awesome setting to blaze in :)

My China, I was attending psy parties down there from 1996 and I remember nothing! Was it the hallucinogens or just astral projection? It's the goa way!

HOPS, glad your enjoying, ICmag seems to like chameleons hahaha. Are you referring to the dam photos? They may look desert-like and arid, but as you get closer there are a large variety of shrubs, each of which will generally have a flush of beautiful flowers at some point during the year, often clusters of many, many tiny ones. This strange indegenous shrubbery is unique to this part of the world and we call it fynbos, many varieties are thorny, and often extremely aromatic, full of terpenes.

SD, you must be remembering the first days of Alien Safari and Vortex, and the maybe the tail end of the Logos parties, things are different now, but awesome none the less, much larger scene.

Took a wander through an abandoned station, lots of graffiti, thought I'd share some pictures, as mentioned above the first taste of the slightly grittier side of this country:

Variety of mediocre local artists work, with a handstyle on the side of the pillar by my boy who passed away. RIP Dsyn DTR :

More from today, this dude has been killing the scene for the last few years:

Locals from my era:

The reason I don't surf any more, have seen 3 massive white sharks, 2 predations, aerial roll and all in the last year, terrifying stuff for sure:
picture.php

They have okes sitting on the mountains with polarized glasses and binoculars everyday, looking out for the hungry sea monsters, radio system and a loud, loud shark warning alarm, it rings and everyone gets out the water, also have flag systems in place to let public know visibility, etc:

Whoever makes the rules around here definitely knows how the take the fun out of an afternoon at the beach, no shooting, fires drinking or music, damn:

Yep the last thing I remember ... we were on a safari, then counting, 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1! Happy New Year! and then stepping into the Vortex....

Enjoy your snoek, smoke, spray cans and a swim.

That's as good as telling anyone who knows that information my name, sorry but no! Was never big in the scene, but I was around for a while..

Lost, the export story is something I'm far from involved with personally, as far as I understand it a lot of the cheaper outdoor options available in the UK are from here, which cannot be the only destination for our herb worldwide. I've heard of a couple of medium grade outdoor grows (think huge bulk) send their top grades to be exported to Europe and the rest stays here to be sold off to locals..

Here are some more steel shots from yesterday:

Love how the wave is just starting to break in this pic, awesome contrast of urban decay and natural beauty:

Yeah there is a lot of great herb down here Donald, I have been refraining from filling this thread with budshots thus far, have a look through my other thread of dry buds, have neglected it lately though:

And yeah, there is awesome geology/geography around here, good times.

Anyone know what kind of cactus this is? Tall, falls over at a certain point, spreads flat, more grow up, etc

Yeah I've been lazy to be honest, a lot people really killed it this season, must snap a few pics of the years outdoor fruits, I've been ignoring the inside I have and smoking the outdoor like it's going out of fashion, got to love that full terpene profile only a full organic soil mix and all the required spectrums of light can provide :D.
Winter is coming, but a lot slower than usual, we've had a long, sunny autumn where I am, which helps of course.
