Hey Micro, what did you build your ballast's out of..? and is that the igniter duct taped to the side of it..? ALso how come no "Foster's" can's they work great for baby's...! LOL...How can they call it Australian for Beer when they don't sell it there...? As you can tell I've drank a few in my time...

htgsupply ballasts, and yes that is the igniter and capacitor duct taped to the outside of the box. I just used the box it was shipped in.

Lookin good Microwido!! You dropped in on one of my threads so i figure I would return the favor. I like what I see so much you have me convinced CMH is the way to go. I don't want to steal your thread here but I have a couple questions.

Where did you purchase your CMH's from? If its from advancedtechlighting.com (like I think it is) what all comes with the 400W Horizontal $53.00 setup? I think I read this right, you bought your ballasts from high tech garden and supply. What ballast(s) did you purchase to go along with the light? Thanks man, your setup is revolutionizing the grow industry. I think im in love with your setup!! haha, take care! Subscribed!

I answered some of your questions by adding information to post #1. Thanks for the responses!

Today's news is I found out the hard way that you should only get the best Carbon filter. My Goblin air filter from HTG sucks balls! It gets about 90% of the smell out, but not all of it. No mater what the CFM or humidity is, some smell is detectable diretly at the exhaust. Frustrating. So I worked a deal out with HTG that I will buy a Can 66 and then return the Goblin for a full refund.

Day 37

Day 37

Yesterday I killed 5 Males. I am left with 9 females. Thats 60%, I was hoping for better but the room will be needed anyway.

This Plant is 42 inches tall with 20 nodes. .




Not bad for day 37 from sprout right? The 3 white widows at the end are the biggest.

Day 39

Last night I did my 1st ever LST. I tied down the tops of the 2 tall plants, and it went extremely well! Thanks to ICM people for the advice.

congrats on the first LST, the garden is looking good and lush, how long have they been on 12/12 if you don't mind me askin, are you gonna take some clones also. I usually take the two bottom growing branches. Thanks again for sharing, PEace

I am actually on day 40 of 20/4, and I do not plan on switching to 12/12 for about 10 more days. Everyone thinks that these will stretch to 7 feet etc, but I believe they will stay under 6. The longer the veg = shorter the stretch. And worst case scenario i will Tie down the tops some more so they don't grow into the lights.

Today my Can 66 arrived, and it works like a charm. Finally it doesn't smell at all. The plants grew alot today, the middle plants are catching up to the end ones.

I tied down the tops of 3 plants, and that helped create more bud sites and will be a big tool is managing my growth.

Those are going to be some great looking ladies once they hit 12/12. Actually they are beautiful already.
Here's my question for you. If you could do it over again would you have began the LST earlier? Also, if you get a chance and don't mind please post a couple of pictures of your Can 66 setup.

Is the effective light penetration of a 400w CMH bulb exponentially greater than that of a 400w HPS/MH?

It's not the vertical space I'd be concerned about as much as the lack of efficiency you'll experience trying to make those bulbs penetrate through six feet (72 in.) of bud.
