Right on, thats what I'm aiming for. After living in some of the shittier places on this planet, the cushy places in North America kinda cramp my style.

Plus with a small crew and concealed carry laws it seems like the worst that could happen is adventures.

As someone that has been all over michigan, I mostly agree with what has been said.

Just stay the hell north of flynt and grand rapids and you'll be happy. Plenty of lake houses and ski cabins to be had for cheap. Nobody will notice you as an "outsider" in the recreational areas of the state, just an ohioan.

And northern michigan in the summer is fucking sublime. Gonna be on the au sable river fishing and camping in a few weeks. I'm thinking of hitting the u p for some solo backpacking too.

Come winter, uhhhh, get a snow mobile and learn to like icefishing.
