Michigan Medical Outdoor 2015

Dr.333 I see no problem getting 2# per plant, (your plants got a early start) In my cage I grew 18 in 1200 sq. feet, I don't have the head space u have, I tie my limbs up (to the roof for support then down to the ground to spread them out, walking around can be a problem, I had 2 plants that were over 2# I averaged around 22oz per plant. Good luck, u can do it.:plant grow:

Ahhh. Free range cannabis..

For some cooped up girls, those r looking really nice, doc.. I would definitely give em some more support up high, as mentioned earlier.. Michigan wind storms can sneak up on ya. Peace

Slender, I'm super exited to see how everything fills out, last year we could barely walk between each plant and they were put out June 14th and they were an 8th of the size of most of the girls this year so I think it will be just about perfect, I'm not too concerned about not being able to walk in between the plants we have the walkway around the plants plus there are two plants that are spaced farther apart on one side so I can access the inside space as well so it will be just about perfect.

Bottomland, thanks for the support. Like I mentioned in the last post when talking to slender, last year the girls were put out June 14th at an 8th of the size of most the girls this year and we pulled 9 packs off 10 plants not counting the smalls used for hash. Some got 1 sum got little less than 1 and a couple were over 1.

So I'm thinking 2 a piece is an attainable goal but there are always hiccups and variables growing outside as most know lol especially in MI.

Acridlab, what's up man??? I'm glad U stopped by, anyways man thank you for the compliment I appreciate it. I forgot to mention when I started this thread that I'm cautious about plant support outdoors, Michigan being Michigan has put me in rough spots breaking branches in years past so I try and learn from my mistakes the best I can.

So this year as you can see all the girls are caged the 3 that aren't are getting caged this week. Those cages are initial support for early in the year also doubling as a training aid. In about a month I will get our 1"x 1" x 8ft tall posts anchored in the ground in a square shape around each plant and use those posts to anchor the plastic trellis netting and that should be enough to support the tall wide veg growth and then the Heavy buds late in the year. We shall see!!

I would be stoked your gals look superb!! Currently In my garden Im runnin 15 northern lights outdoor and your girls look almost as big as mine already, if not bigger. A few of my gals looking like 1-2 #ers . :woohoo: If anything, once the plants get that size in late August mid September and it becomes diffult to maneuver just find a really long foliar sprayer wand to spray for bugs when u use azamax or whatever neem oil pest supplement you use to get rid of those little monsters.

Good grow I like your location!
Enjoy those corncobs when they arrive in late September.

Easily 1-2 a piece... Give some. Especially scince they are already out! :tiphat:

I put mine out may 4th and they are all over 2 ft tall. The four first transplanted without great white are already 3 ft.

Just spray your plants with azamax 1 time each week.
Then spray with serenade 1 time each week.

The rest is in the growers hands, as green thumb stated.
Shit happens I came out one day to a toppled over northern lights f-1 genetics clone in 45 gallon pots. Shit looked defeated then I perked her backup etc. and she was off in no time she even looks better then plenty of my other clones do now.

Thanks for the kind words slender I'm glad I got a good jump on everything this year. I checked out your thread last night and all the girls are looking beautiful and organized!! Id love to have your backyard!!

What are your plans for supporting those beauties this year??

Hey zdub thanks for stopping by man! Well I was under the impression that there was some sort of top needed so people couldn't gain access by just climbing over, if that's the case it's stupid i know but we are just are using barbed wire strung across about 8 in apart to be better safe than sorry. But your right it does have to be anchored, not accessible etc. that is the part that is clear in the law, as you know our law is not very clear and open to interpretation by the law :/. I've even heard people say they have gotten messed with because it could be seen clearly from the air, Which is crazy because there is nothing in the law saying anything about that in any way. So apparently according to some counties a greenhouse top is all that's accepted.

Anyways on to the plants, I know it man we shoulda went with 6"x 6" concrete rebar mesh but we had the 2"x 4" welded wire laying around and I decided to use it for the 1st layer of support I got access holes cut so I can get inside and prune the inside of the girls later in the year. Using 6"x 6" would of made it super easy.

I will be doing a 2nd layer of support later in the year using 1"x 1"x 8ft posts in a square shape around each plant as a frame for the plastic trellis netting. Then if I have to do a 3rd layer towards the end of the year I will.

I forgot to answer Ur question fully zdub, yes I do believe greenhouse plastic is adequate, but then again like I said earlier I'm sure U know how grey our law is, it's left up to the laws interpretation that way they are able to mess with whoever they want for the smallest detail that was never clearly stated in the requirements the first place.

without a doubt greenthumb! thanks for checkin out my log!
i just staked a few more stems up to dowels. then they will have to be tomato caged or i can do vertical trellises on them.
leaning to trellis but i know tomatoe cages would be easier if i can find 6 ft high ones.
30 mph winds picked up here an hour ago
one small clone still (2ft) height broke a stem i need the cages real soon.

i just put up my pool so i can swim while i watch em grow :dance013: ty for the comments on my yard hahaha someday i want my own with a zen garden attatched if this grow is heavenly enough we will see green thumb we will see.
:plant grow:

happy growing

they have came in to count when it was fully covered .gh style, and not came out when it was caged. so yeah definitely gray. where you are located in the mitten makes a difference for sure,, some places don't have the money to or just do not care. you can loosen up those holes by applying gypsum this year. and adding aerating amendments.

No problems in 'da Yoop with woven GH plastic over my top. Then again,I didn't even see any uniforms last year and I sure wasn't trying to hide it.

Nice to see another Michigander, and I completely agree -- the welded wire cages are going to be a pain in your ass come harvest. You should knock out every other wire and make 4x4 holes at least.

I've been trying to find a supplier for 8x10' (fits perfectly around a 100gal smart pot) galvanized welded wire panels. Hog/cattle panels would be ideal but they're usually 47-50" tall.

Hey sho good of you to stop by brother! Ya know it's funny U mention cutting every other wire out to make them 4 x 4 because I was thinking about that all day and all night yesterday after zdub mentioned something lol and I came to the conclusion I was gonna just start cutting and opening up 4"x4" holes haha. (trying to save money were I can, it will only be a few hours of snipping...cheap ass I know lol.

You're gonna thank yourself in the end when you can branch them down and not have to cut buds out of wire! 3-4" round wet nuts aren't unheard of.

Best of luck! I'll be watching

Man sho I totally forgot your the guy that runs the massive greenhouse i was keeping an eye on your thread last year, you do beautiful things in Michigan.

Lol as long as the girls get big enough (god willing) i will be running a 2nd layer (3rd if they get really big) of trellis with plastic trellis netting w/ 6"x 6" holes anchored by posts around each plant the cage is just added support during early and mid veg.

I agree 100% with at least making my 1st cage 4"x 4" by doing sum snipping otherwise I'm gonna have crazy problems towards the last part of the season.

Update time.
