Lady Berry Kush and Kushy Haze Updates

Lady Berry Kush and Kushy Haze Updates

Here are some of the lady berry kush and kushy haze plants under the 5 different flowering led lights. I just culled the males out of the bunch and it was 5 out of 7 being female so I am stoked with the numbers.

I am cutting clones from the females and they are going in the aero cloner so I can get a TON of these under these leds because I love these strains ( as I have ran them previously ).

I will get vegging picture updates up once their lights turn on. I have tested the vegging panels on two veg light cycles which are 24/0 and 18/6. If anyone wants to toss out their opinion for possibly testing another veg light cycle by all means mention it. I know many use variations for veg ( I have tested a few myself over the years ) and would love to hear your thoughts.

So far with VEG L1 - VEG L4 spectrum and growth wise my thoughts are a bit mixed overall. Well that VEG L4 was the light that grew both of the two "keeper" plants that I found later so that is something that I noted. I think veg L3 and L4 grow great plants in veg once you move the panels UP. I have gotten great germination rates, seedling and veg growth under both of them so I think the leds intensity is stronger than VEG L1 and VEG L2 and once I learned that the growth has been excellent under them.

My favorite veg panel overall is #2 still however I would happily veg under each panel and would prefer the ability to run two panels versus a single to allow for different light panel placement within a tent, cabinet or grow area.

With the led panels you either need a wider lens on the perimeter of the panels to allow the panel to have better spread when the panel is lower ( common with veg ) or the ability to angle the leds if possible ( I should be testing the led panels where you can aim the leds in different angles which should be pretty interesting to see how they work ). Here is a pic of one of the panels that I am talking about below.
dsc02134_custom_.jpg

I think having two LED panels will end up beating out buying one larger panel so as a grower I would suggest planning accordingly. If I were to plan a way to grow small and be able to expand later I would start with panels that you know you could run multiple of them versus just being able to run one large one. In A 4x4 for example I would either have 2 of the 300w or 4 of the smaller panels. 600 running watts of leds in a 4x4 would kill it, yes it wouldn't be a cheap switch from a 1k or 600w hps setup but once setup you would end up happy with the results, the growth, the lower temps, ability to run in the summer among a million other reasons that seem to appear to me as I keep growing under these leds.

I am loving being able to work in the different areas without getting a growers headache so that rocks.

More updates to follow

Awesome update, as usual... The plants look very happy !
And about the LED panels, I received the same piece of advice, to buy two smaller panels instead of a bigger one. So I think that in my 3.5'x3.5' area, two 280W panels would be fine.
What do you think ?
Keep up the good work !
Peace, HJ.

keep up the good work...so damn healthy.
I have seen a couple deficiencies throughout the grow but I think it is due to the "color" put off by the lights making it hard to notice which girls need more food than others because spotting deficiencies under a 1k hps bulb is something that we all can easily notice.

I am trying to go with the less is more method and some of the more hungry girls were harder to spot than normal but as I get used to growing under the leds the deficiencies were getting fewer by the week so that makes me happy.

That is one tip I would give to anyone new to LEDs is to check your girls out more often at first until you get yourself adjusted to working under the spectrums itself because some can give a very blue, others a deep red, some purple and some white light and the deficiencies will actually show up as other colors than you are used to seeing. Tripped me out at first and hope I explained what I am "noticing" fully so everyone gets my point.

Think of how things change under a black light for example and how certain colors GLOW and others become much darker, that same color change can and does happen depending on spectrum ran.

Anyone else growing with LEDs who wants to toss their thoughts about this? I would love to hear what you have noticed while tending to your girls under your led panel.

I AM LOVING THE LED GROW LIGHTS THOUGH!!!! I almost feel like I am cheating on my quantums right now ( ssshhhh don't tell them please!!!!! )

I also want to do a side by side in 2013 with my quantum 600w versus one of these 200x3w panels ( around 300 watts ) to compare the two and see how different the growth/penetration really is. I also want to do a watt for watt comparison by running 600 watts of leds ( actual running wattage ) versus a 600 watt and see how that does. Seeing how leds do watt 4 watt makes sense to me because while I am digging these LEDS there are just too many "claims" about replacing 1k watt hps grows with next to no wattage but just in LEDs and I don't get the reason to focus on that comparison.

I also will be running a 1k hps versus 1000 watts of LEDs to get that tru comparison watt for watt. If anyone has seen actual watt for watt grows showing 400w, 600w or 1000w versus a comparable LED panel wattage wise please toss a link here, pic or pm me a link whichever works for you works for me :huggg:

Only a few more weeks to grow ( depending on when these seed grown girls finish ) and then I can't wait to see the density, yields per plant and everything. I can see that the cocorok I switched to is growing BETTER plants than the 707 mix the first group was placed in so that is something that I will be sticking with and improving which will bring my grams per plant up as well.
