gotcha, they look gorgeous.

Glad you asked though because now I am going to be more timelined with the updates to remove any confusion etc my fellow hater of arthritis.

Not sure if I posted a pic of the nutes I am playing with. I am mainly doing the lucas formula with kool bloom but have used all the other add ons in this pack in previous grows just to try them out but not sure what all I will use with these first couple grows.

attachment.php

The lucas formula has worked pretty well for me and I love the less is more sort of growing and will odds are keep it with the 6/9 and kool bloom and if needed some molasses just to do it.

Here is what I am smokin on atm, forgot the strain as it was in my mix jar BUT wanted to toss a shot up. Can't wait to see how the LED grow buds compare.

GROW UPDATES:
I am wanting to be able to pull new meds every 2 weeks and am hoping to get a decent perpetual started. Being in week 3 I am a little behind BUT do not want to put the next batch of girls ( that are in veg now ) in too soon as I want to be able to get clones from their lower branches in the first week of flower ( and cull the males ) so I might wait until the beginning of week four before putting the next batch in. I do know that the clones in the aero cloner are doing GREAT and the roots are rockin it and will be up potting those into cocorok 1 or 2 gallon grow bags.

The lady berry kush and kushy haze from field marshall seeds are growing like weeds and they should be ready to get sexed in the next week or so along with any other plants that might be ready including the aero cloned clones. Since they are clones I do not need to veg them as much and the growth should be much faster compared to their seed grown counterpart but we will all see soon enough.

I will end up getting my grow down to a perpetual 2 week harvest cycle even if I can't make it happen these first few cycles. I can always start with the 4 week cycle and then move the next cycle after that to 2 weeks and it should iron itself out from there. Within each of my grow tents there will always be new girls going in them perpetual style as I am always vegging and whenever a female is ready IN SHE GOES!

The sooner IN the sooner OUT

Update Pics In Flower From Today

Update Pics In Flower From Today

I just snapped a couple pics of some of the bud sites of the girls in flower a few minutes ago so everyone can see how they are growing. I also got some pics of some lower bud sites ( sometimes I keep them other times I just lollipop the plants ).

So these are week 3 or day 17 update pics for the blackwater, jedi kush and jackpot royal seed grown plants. I can't wait to see the different phenotypes so I can select my keeper phenos and weed out my mom/clone tents.

So what difference have ya noticed on feedings, does it take less nutes or less waterings?

It seems like I am feeding much less, now that could be due to the temp difference compared to hps bulbs eating up the water faster with the plant and transpiration / evaporation in general.

The waiting the wet / dry cycle in the soil less mix I had going is one reason I have since switched to cocorok to allow for more waterings so I can dial in my nutes for each strain better IF needed. I am hoping to only need to stick to the lucas formula feedings but sometimes certain strains need a bit more or a bit less and with leds I don't want to say anything is for sure as far as nute regiments go because it is somewhat of an on the fly sort of method with me lol.

these were taken today, I had a couple small blackwater cuts that were lagging on rooting ( you can see one in cloner pic 3 above on the right side, it has roots just not like the rest ) and I wanted them to get a few more roots popping before transplanting. The rest of the strains rooted just fine, most saw roots in 3-4 days and the blackwater took 5 days however the roots on the blackwaters compared to the rest make me wonder about the blackwaters cloneability overall. Anyone growing out the blackwater or maybe cut clones of her before? Mine is seed grown so unsure of the pheno OR what she will do in flower but she doesn't clone all that well from what I saw so far. It was the only strain having difficulty pushing roots BUT it did end up just not as full as the other strains.

Macro USB Camera For Checking Trichs

Macro USB Camera For Checking Trichs

Here are some pics of the macro usb camera I use to check to see when my plants trichs are done. It takes terrible pictures BUT works great for a live microscope to view straight to the laptop ( or anything else that can hookup to the usb I suppose ).

I got sick of clipping leaves off to see the trichs so this little guy works. I forgot where I got it but odds are it won't be hard to find on eBay or other online sites or even locally.

L.E.D. Grow Show Freebie Seeds

L.E.D. Grow Show Freebie Seeds

I will be germinating these freebie seeds as I want to go through to see about locating any keeper phenotypes. I have too many strains sitting and I want to work towards locating some females that grow well under these led panels.

and will also be growing these as well and hope to locate a few keeper females

These will be going into coco when the Poison Genetics seeds get here that I will be testing for Dr. Poison so I can have other seeds germinating for testing purposes.
There reachin for the sky, love the blue tint.

I totally agree, its nice to not deal with the temp issues that I have always been used to. Still alot of growing to go through though to see if LEDs are right for me though thats for sure.

Bro, I think there are just way too many seeds there and too many good sources as well for there not to be any good keepers out of that bunch.

I mean if, by some fluke of a chance, that you don't find a keeper, there is something seriously wrong with the plants and genetics those seeds have been harvested from.........which.........once again, I find kind of doubtful.....

Good Luck

I am picky with my keeper females but I do agree that with this much selection finding a few keepers should be simple. I just want to run through my different beans now so I can get fresh stuff in 2013 as there are just so many great strains in the works and I feel this next year will be HUGE for strains in seed form.

Out with the old in with the new, I've been dying to get my hands on some of Rare Dankness Seeds.

Haven't tried any of their genetics yet either, which ones are you after? I personally am just running a ton of different strains from seed to see which does best under these leds since I will be using them for the rest of my 2012 as well as my 2013 mmj grows.

I am not sure if marijuana grows different under leds compared to hps but I do know the canopy temps have got to be night and day for the plants.

Og Ghost Train haze #1, Doc's Og, 501 st Og, Rug Burn Og, an Scotts Og. Im skeptical about Leds producing the same size nugs but we shall see. I have yet to see anyone finish with a led set up.

That is a whole lotta og's to work with indeed. I hope you are able to get the yield out of your led grow that you are shooting for. I have seen plenty of led grows on forums however nothing beats first hand experience with a lighting system to see how it works for you and your grow location/environment.

I think leds are perfect for growing meds indoors during the summertime without dealing with ac issues so there are plenty of perks with the leds but yes yields are always important.

I also wonder about using the leds during the winter grows to help bring out the purple hues in some strains being much easier than with hps due to cooler temps BUT also wonder about regulating your grow area night/day temps if the led panels do not produce the heat to keep it in that sweet spot temp range.

I would rather deal with keeping temps UP versus dealing with trying to cool them off as it is far cheaper lol.

growth updates

A couple shots from week 3. The week 3 video will be finalized on the 21st and uploaded. I want to make sure and have content from the beginning and end of the week for each update as alot changes within a 7 day period when in flower.
