Max watts to use in a 3br house?

Nobody was busted, they just showed up. Like I said weed was never grown there. Maybe a bogus tip? Who knows. But it is scarey when the cops can just show up like that... I was there when it happened, and they did mention high power use. But whether that was the only thing, I dunno.

I wonder if smaller towns are more likely to snitch.. or larger cities?

I'm thinking larger cities would be more likely to care because they have the tendancy to have to conserve more? ANd smaller towns.. well you know how everybody is nosy in those towns...

I've said this before...the easiest way to cover electricity use, is to go get a City Business License for Ornamental Iron...working from your home--
Welding takes mad electricity--

But having a business license makes your home a place of business thereby opening it up to all kinds of other inspections.

warrants are not needed to search a business. this may have to do with zoning. i'm not sure if home businesses fall under this category.

anyone know for sure?

That is why I say specifically....Ornamental Iron...because there are no special Permits or Certifications needed.

Wrong.

Your home may offer more protection but police just cant barge into a business and do what they want. They still need a warrant.

i don't know where these law abiding, warrant toting cops are but i want to move there.

police barged in and searched my business without a warrant. they have barged into my house on two different occasions without a warrant. the cops have done way more illegal shit to me than criminals.

once they have came in and found what they are looking for a warrant is of little consequence. i have spent a lot of time in courtrooms, most of my friends and a lot of my family have been in legal trouble, and i have NEVER seen a case thrown out due to illegal search&seizure... never. i know it happens but i have never seen it.

i always get a little riled up when i hear someone say "the police cant do that". i have been sitting in the jail and heard other inmates say that. i have heard lawyers say it and i have heard judges say it. but i have SEEN the police do what ever the f*** they wanted to do and it has worked out great for them 99% of the time, with no repercussions.

i don't know where you guys live but i live in the us and the cops do as they please. they entered my house about 10 years ago. i was watching tv and the door flies open. i ask to see a copy of the warrant - the two cops who were babysitting me just looked at each other and laughed. after that i got the kicking of a lifetime from those two bastards...they didn't need a warrant for that either.

where i live warrants don't mean anything. laws don't mean anything. if they want you to pay "taxes" then you will or else. if they want you to do a little time - you'll do it(with or without huge lawyer fee).

i am not trying to be the devil's advocate and i am not trying to rant..much. i am just speaking from my experience. if your experience with the police have been different, i can appreciate that.

fuck the police,
bob

excess of 4000 watts is definitly pushing it. Some electric companies look for this kinda thing, others dont give a shit if your running 15,000 watts constantly.

Just pay your bill, and stay smart, you should be ok.

it makes perfect sense to me. when you have been busted with an illegal search and evidence was seized illegally you go to jail..illegally but you go to jail. when you get there you will be set a bond or not. you will have a hearing in which the state will present all evidence against you. the judge will decide whether or not to allow evidence. your lawyer will say you didn't give consent to a search the pigs will say you did. it will be your word against the cop's.

you, me, and the judge all know you are a guy growing a harmless plant. the people who elected that judge and who will re-elect that judge aren't that smart. to them you are making drugs to give to kids. manufacturing a controlled substance. trying to fit as much wattage into a three bedroom house as possible.

if you got a good lawyer he can get you a good plea bargain at this point. you might not have to serve any time. unless its election year.

you say this wouldn't fly in your area ? i bet it flies in your area everyday. go down to the county jail and ask about details of people's arrests. talk to some black/brown people and see if they aren't getting the shaft.

maybe you live in a nice area, i do not. i never thought i would try and convince a fellow stoner of police corruption. maybe it just the south, idk. i don't think anyone who has had trouble in MS would argue with me on this one. i could tell you a story about no probable cause one night in olive branch,ms but you probably wouldn't believe that one for sure.

but, like i said earlier, if that is not your experience, i can appreciate that. i have had extreme, though not uncommon, encounters with the law and i know not everyone will have the same viewpoint as me. thats cool.

main thing is not to be suspected for anything, ever. never pop up on any radar and you should be fine. all my arrests were ultimately caused by me being young, drug addicted and stupid. the police never bust anyone through actual police work. you always get yourself on the radar.

take it easy,
bob

btw, i hope i didn't come off as being too big of an ass. this is just a subject i am a little sensitive about. i got no problem with anybody.

rule of thumb is usually 1000 watts per bedroom.

i would stick around to 4000-6000watts of grow power.

I ran 9 lights in total (4800 watts) not including the 2 AC's in a 2 bedroom full basement home. never had a problem, and my bill would be between $450-$650 if i remember correctly (give or take).

That is the way I was also taught 1000 Watts Per Bedroom... Unless your name or someone elses is new to the bill then you can jack it a bit more.... My bill popped in today $360.00 and no one lives their it is a warehouse.. The names on the electric bill just recently changed because the buisness in the front was sold... I feel invincible but know I'm not my name is not on shit no lease no bills ect..... I only have 4000 watts 3 A/C's 2 Flower 1 veg Can Fans and some pumps and shit.. In the Winter i will jack up w/ more lights and less A/C....

Good Luck GL

Yeah I guess it does make sense... especially if you have past convictions, etc.. would be hard to convince a judge. dunno man that's so fucked up. MS has horrible laws when it comes to MJ. I'm in the south but not MS. Cops busted in on a party here and arressted soem folks, but got thrown out cause they didnt have warrant or consent.

Keep ya head up and be smart Bob.

Hi all,

New here, but thought I should wade in on this topic.

Here in BC it's recently become mandatory for electricity providers to provide usage details to the municipal authorities. They scan for high users and investigate. From what I can gather, they base their decisions on usages greater than 93 Kwh/month for a single family home in the Greater Vancouver area.

Before this law came into effect, utility companies generally refused to provide info without a warrant for fear of privacy infringement lawsuits. This wasn't widely known, however. Most people I know assumed that as long as you paid your bill on time, nobody would question your usage. In reality, even if you never paid your bill on time, nobody would bother you about it.

It might be a good idea to look into the laws in your specific jurisdictions. You may not have anything to worry about.

Cheers.

Yes, I meant per day. Good catch. I found a pdf online that outlines the policy and guidelines. It was presented at the Union of BC Municipalities. If anyone here is from BC and would like to read it, I'll post a link.

I was busted by the electric company. I was in a 4 bedroom 2 living room house using 10K. Just depends on were you live. Big city spends alot more time on stuff like this

Do electric companies really have the right to do shit liek this. How do you know they snitched. Do the cops tell you that you were busted due to electric usage. Is that even enough to get a warrant? Does the warrant state anything about electric usage? Is someone lieng to you? Did they do a knock and talk and just say that they been monitoring electric usage... or what is the situation?
