I'm a very,very fast reader, but no anglosaxon.
It took me not one week but around 3 to read through here.
That's alot of time for most people, considering that propably most of us aren't really doing hundreds.

no i am not kidding. While it's a shit translation kinda like a 'hk sub' its certainly better than nothing. besides hovering on the paragraph with your mouse gives a popup of the original text, being able to see it side by side. And you can make suggestions, which end up going into the algorithms to make better translations in the end.

I am forced to use this on a daily basis, and i'd certainly say its far better than nothing. Alternatively if you dont wanna read the thread learn to use google, it indexes icmag and does so well.

I do have a question though. 1000 plants must take an awful lot of trimming and processing as outdoor bud can be huge and unruly. Care to share any thoughts on the process? I assume dedicated teams at many locations, but how do you build that network and trust it?

How do you transport OUT?

He responded with trimming, hanging outside and only bringing out big and not popcorn but nothing pertaining to a system to get out of the spot without being noticed or a way to get it all out on your own, I would suspect one person with 6 musky trash bags coming in and out of the woods 20xs would be suspicious How heavy it is is not a concern security is.

Very good points.......and, I actually had some other stuff to add about site location and selection and reality.....

That is where the outdoor hang and dry comes into play, which I have done now for quite a while, in various regions, and almost always under conditions most claim is impossible (Who have never done it of course....)

So, out hang helps in many ways (this addresses process and logistics of transport) including moisture loss (weight, bulk....) helps with quality (outdoor hang is superior product compared to in dry), and also of course from my angle , addressing the above what really helps is I basically, in essence, don't even touch "the small stuff"....(ie: biggest best stuff first as that is where the weight is, and, actually, much, much faster to trim.....As in many can imagine, to trim a p of nice stuff (large, solid, etc), very, very quick..(I can do almost 2lbs + an hour myself with a pair of scissors), vs. of course that same hour for small stuff, well.........maybe take you 8?...10hrs?.....for a single lb?...My attention always goes straight to big stuff, small stuff goes into bubble piles, which are attended to (dried, cured, watched, no mold), and, later, before running the bubble, it's gone through and nicer things picked out and saved.......

Note: Bubble runs are done much later, when winter rolls in and there is no problem with temps, no shortage of ice and cold water, etc....ie: Winter you can put any amount of trim, or any amount of water outside and have it near frozen very quickly, which is easier in dealing with the trim when volume, and, temps outside extremely low....

So, in short the outdoor hang cuts down quite a bit of bulk making things a lot easier.....

Note: sometimes electric trimmers used at harvest or prior to harvest, and, sometimes also things not hung if looks like they are having, or will shortly have some issues (mold, etc..)

That is another reason also I like smaller later batches.......(smaller and more solid...), makes trimming a lot easier also......less small stuff if done well and end well..

Of course most projects tend to be circles of very long term associates, since childhood, etc, but, screening as always should apply, but, for the most part...it's all a natural progression and people "grow" into it (pun not intended but amusingly applicable )

Regarding any involvement it would be assuming more than one are involved given a larger size, and, machines also help a little...( a lot)...

(Note: This is of course not a grow diary per se, just addressing the subject, so...)

What I also wanted to address and is something discussed many times regarding the op itself and site selection and similar aspects is this:

Again, we go back to essentially growing...commercial..(large amounts..), which brings us right back to money......

Which comes down to expectations, operating expenses, the level of commitment one has, and the lengths they are willing to go......Specifically:

Lot of people want to grow "a lot"...lot of people want to make a"a lot" of money.......lot of people want to "make a million"....

Okay, so, let's address that.....

One wants to make 1MM dollars...but how?.....What are you prepared to offer?...what are you prepared to contribute?....

I have spend more than $50K on outdoor batches..(initial costs, supplies, etc, etc), and, that doesn't even touch time dedicated, labor, prep, etc, we're just talking simply what will come out of your pocket from planning through final execution....

(There's a couple angles to that...from cheap and easy through all out, so....one could still run 1000 for under 1k out of a closet.......but, later for that....) I think there's a pic above linked somewhere of 500 in a 40" x 40" spot, so, people who claim no room...well.....if you don't have a sq. meter to dedicate, then, yes, probably out of reach...(personally, I find 500 a sq. meter about as economical (use of space) as is possible....)

In continuing with the above, the we hit on site selection, which, really, is what it's all about..(ie: doesn't matter who and what you are and what you can do....if you don't have the site?...well........means nothing....it's the site which creates success imo more than the grower......

Bringing us back to okay, so, someone wants to make 1MM, and, I think the same when I look at these idiots running 50k+ plants in Cali...(hottest, if not the hottest outdoor location in the world.....)

So, someone wants to get it done, well.....I would personally recommend site selection in some cases have the limitations of region removed....ie: Can't pull it off where you are?, okay, what about somewhere else...50 states, all different..(penalties also), so...why not take care of it somewhere that is more favorable (But, again, someone wants 1MM or more, but, don't want to do what is necessary to ensure as high a degree of safety as possible.....

(the summary of the above is if your after big numbers.......going to a different site and state is not unreasonable......which goes back to "
Oh, you want to make money but don't want to put in any work for it....)

Not easy, not simple per se........can't expect to pull in 1MM+ without some outlay, work, etc....

(of course, one could do a residential lot, etc, as mentioned above and pull 250k from their backyard and pool area no problem , but, another topic....)

Above can be applied to any situation, indoor or out.....(If expecting 7 figures, appropriate efforts would accompany that....)

I also didn't find the above posters answer inappropriate or out of line in any way, shape or form, and they're more than welcome to address such any time they see fit, and in the above posters case, the response was pretty much what my own would have been. (As I posted in response following original question and post).

Well........the value of such........can't put a price on it if it's specific enough (and valid...)

Example:
What anyone, at any given time can find out about their region with nothing more than what we sit in front of now, is impressive.....(and most will never spend minute one on it....)

You can pull up through many different sources detailed information, all operations, task fores, aircraft availability (and even make and models of aircraft used, which airports they are based at, etc).....Can go through court cases and arrest reports and find out even more specifics mentioned throughout the court docs, etc......(Likewise, any other info can be matched against what is available, etc....)

Depends on the request, your budget, scope of operations and so on....

Also depends on you providing the party knowledge of activities....which is the real issue...(Just the exchange already has displayed your interests, etc....)

Can't say yes or no.....would have to depend on specifics.....and weigh those against all factors, etc......and make a decision from there (and again....budget dependent....ie: What is info worth to you matched against current budget and take, etc......)

Okay, so, let's address that.....

One wants to make 1MM dollars...but how?.....What are you prepared to offer?...what are you prepared to contribute?....

I have spend more than $50K on outdoor batches..(initial costs, supplies, etc, etc), and, that doesn't even touch time dedicated, labor, prep, etc, we're just talking simply what will come out of your pocket from planning through final execution....

(There's a couple angles to that...from cheap and easy through all out, so....one could still run 1000 for under 1k out of a closet.......but, later for that....)

I know you like to do femm stock but how do you get 1000 for under 1k? i read you just raise em 2 weeks under the 1k. put em out. i've seen pictures of hte trays and i believe the size... but the budget does that mean you gotta use m/f stock?

just wondering cause this year Im running a tight budget. Not THAT tight... but I was wondering if femm stock is what i'm after. I live by your words now julian "do what you can, where you can, with what you can"

with what ive learned on this site, i can theoredically make more money, than i ever made in my entire life, in the next 6 months.... and that is what kept me awake last-nite..

and julians plan is to plant as much as possible, for as long as possible, in doing so he effectively cancels out any chance of failing...

all that work is what i fear the most ...... because if put effort into a site, it wont sit well with me if somehow i lost anything due to whatever reason.... is this just greed or am i right to feel this way?.. if i put out 1000, i wanna bring back 1000, every last branch, bud, every last THC molecule....thats me.

You could make a 1,000 for under 1k....but never said that for myself because wasn't getting them that cheap......(Actually, the above was referring to starting 1,000 under a single 1k I believe....pictures should have accompanied on 500 in a 4 x 4 footprint...)

As earlier, always depended on various things....sometimes fems, sometimes clones, sometimes a combination, sometimes my own stock, etc.,.....

Looking at a budget crunch again at the moment, and, contemplating a quick stock run......fems...maybe AF's....then thought maybe grab AF's and the earliest things I could find and work those down.....or maybe a combination and minimal fems bought and then cloned, which I've preferred not to do......

Best price?......is the price you can get the most for ....

Preference?.......have run many things....fairly satisfied with most.....ex partner pointed out recently "problems" we had with fems.....(which I reminded him were like.....1% of less of stock......so....)

Not "my plan" per se......just age old approach.......and, many disagree with bringing in what you put out, but, I've had fairly good luck doing so for the most part....and , while many can wave off as "common sense" issues?.........well, then I wonder if so, than how come majority do not follow such .....

Everything a process....and each step holds some significance directly reflected on yield and bringing them in.......how you get them in.....how prepped, environment, planning, and so on.....

6 months?....well.....quite possible.......but more likely is that through this hobby, long term.......one would certainly be able to create many times what one could do otherwise.....

I hit some rough spots...bad times......but am good again....or close enough to feel okay.....and know the above myself.....little work here, little work there and back up again.....maybe just more caution and attention paid to certain financial approaches, etc...(Ie: I've always been about leverage.......every dollar made sent out 10 different directions to make 10 more....and in the process making myself cash poor more and more, and so on.....low on reserves but heavy on activities, etc........anyway....

I've had issues....I've had losses......and anyone who has read through from start would have seen I accept any any issues as my responsibility.......(even if it wasn't......because in the end?......it does all fall upon me......sexing issues?......not "my fault"?.......well.....since they were my guys...since I was supposed to control process....my ops......my training?.....well.....then who else does it fall upon?.......)

Anyway.......Hopefully those days behind me .....and back on track....little low on budget for locals....but........will do what I have to do.....and make it work......maybe quick stock run....maybe minimal fems and clone...maybe both....and on and on....
