Well, of course the answer if I knew you would be "Dude...WTF is wrong with you".....

But, you know all the angles anyway, and your doing it anyway, so you've made up your mind......

Of course.......like many of us know, the answer is "yeah, but I really like it".......countless professionals do run ops.....(can even find occasional story about cops.......doctors, attorneys, etc....common.....(I know a couple)......so......what do you say to such a person?....

(I've said before if I won 500MM tomorrow I still would....(heavy sigh.......), so....who am I to talk..........)

Since your going to do it anyway.........just stay small man.....be secure........100%.....limit risk, exposure as much as you can......don't take security too lightly........

I mean, I'd feel stupid saying "Stop immediately, right now", and buy all your ps for top dollar....but, you know all the angles man........your risking 100 times more.....which is simple mathematics actually.......ie: Not going to make more on a big run than if no big run long term.........

I could say a lot of things, and, lot of scenarios which everything might be fine.......but, you don't jeopardize 10 things for 1......so...in the end.....I think of it as a potential partner.......and, yeah, maybe a risk free task...easy quick...etc...low risk, (hauling nutes, drilling......early.....5-10k, etc)...but.....not anything else.....

The true "bottom line"

No one should be doing it if they can't handle worst case scenario.

You can't........you'd be fucked. Don't mess with it right now......if you grow?...if your a "grower"?.....well.......the truth is if you are?....well than you always will be, so.......70 seasons ahead..:smoke:....maybe one day you'll end up moving to a heavily wooded ranch on a large acreage :smoke:.......and will deal with it then :smoke:.......

Heavy payoff's are underrated.......not near as much as most think when all is said and done and all payouts and cured and ready to go....

So...you can still learn in the meantime :smoke:......

"Basically, would you go for the 20lbs that is my goal? I know it is safer to keep my head down, keep doing small ID runs, and just keep being a worker like I am now, chipping away at the pile"

Sounds like you already know your answer-but i always:dueling:myslef too:wallbash:

I was talking with a buddy today. Were talking about collecting strains, those that do it monetarily, and those who do it for so many other reasons-love of collecting-chances at things not to be passed up-chances at things you just have to try, some can't get enough:abduct:, al of a sudden, you could see a realization hit his face-he says to me-"you kinda pay more attention to your veg, huh?" I thought, and the answer was "yeah", I then pointed out to me, there is more in the veg-more gardening-more time, more training, all types of shit. See a couple weeks ago, maybe month+, I realized I feel like there is nothing involved in the flowers. Set it and forget it---couldn't be further from the truth.
Anyway, he pointed out that it is very common for most people to gravitate towards one or the other-some veg-some flower. (Of course we all know a few who take pride in both, and what comes along:joint:) But I found it interesting. Becoming so important to be aware of things. How else do you change them?
I know she's winding down...

id go lower on the earliler plants, and much higher on mini's... but thats my opinion. 1000 early tree's are alot of work thru the whole season, especially towards the end, while 5000 mini's would be far less work. the big ones are easily spotted, ripped, and will rot. they will fall over, need watered constantly, eat huge amounts of ferts, and affect your overall security... the mini's on the other hand, if grown well, can be nearly carefree. harvest the main colas to drag on the trimbox, and leave the rest for the deer and bear to toke on:joint: if planted close, in brush, or in corn, the main cola will be the plants full focus... kinda like an outdoor SOG :smoke:

Theres a product called "SKOOT" which has worked effectively for me over the years. It can be found at your local garden shop, it's inexpensive & easy to use, and most importantly it wont harm the critters or your finished product.

The only thing I've found it doesn't work on is female gators that wish to build their nest amoung your plants to lay their eggs. Something you need not worry about unless swamp growing.

Ive been contemplating whether or not an auger is needed for mini/af and ive decided its not, the earth breaks up easily with a mattock, you can break up the native soil fairly quickly with a mattock and get 6" of depth which isn't to bad, if you look at indoor soil beds they run 6" and do pretty decent, even though a auger would work out good I don't think it would handle to well in rocky mountain terrain/soils with roots as thick as your wrist, but for tree grows where you need a lot of depth the auger in soils that arnt to rocky it would help 10 fold.

wow, Julian usually I just read through threads but I must post, just this once. I have been reading your thread for months. truly amazing. recentlly started my own busniness since then, thanks for the motivation. When i first found it in December and read it for 4 days strait until finished. You have inspired me to give outdoors a try. I bought some auto seeds and I am in the process of attempting to make AF seeds for the first time. I have 5 ten packs and hope to get some good stock from them. My buddy recently acquired rental with an out of town owner. He has decided he is in, and likes the idea of planting b/w rows of lavender to sell too. Do you think it is a good idea to putthe lavender b/w them or just dig individul holes? i am gonna have a auger I can use. I have gotten 10lbs of polymer crystals to add to the dirt and tons of old dirt needing a new home. Have you have success making fem AF seeds yet? Can you describe the way you make them. How many seeds did you get off each plant. really interested in 25x25 625 AF gettin a 30 pack. 25 rows of 25 in each.Pop 1200 reg or 600 fem AF seeds in trays, one afternoon prep site, weed out males inside if needed(had mine sex in 14 days), another afternoon plant. seems like I could do all that myself. Thank you Julian you have inspired me in many ways. Motivated me to work hard to better my future. Thank You

fish, if your buddy and you are growing a patch of AFs augering holes are overkill. Simple and easy... rotatiller the patch :D Augering is only really needed when you are going larger than a mini.

Hey Julian,

I owe you an apology. I've read the entire thread and I now understand your responses. They were completely appropriate. :drum:

I'm sorry for being a presumptuous @ss.

Gearing up for the season as I'm sure many are....
:joint::joint:

Anyone using fishing line to barrier off spots??....lots of deer trail/sign around...but too city for full cages...I'm thinking the fishing line would be a simple quick way to boundary off the girls. My plan is to only visit spot 2 more times....one to plant...one to cut....I'll cut down the line and take out with the gear.

Anyways....don't know if you're even checking in here anymore...but I wanted to offer my apology for my douchebag attitude earlier.

I learned a lot from your thread....and still learning from the suggested readings.:smoke:

Take care all and have a safe season!!
Lex

At this point I have absolutely no idea what, or if will be done this year.

Larger projects south have been scrapped, not going to happen anytime soon..(don't even get me started on that.....reasons why are obvious to anyone remotely with a clue as to the current situation in that part of the world...........)

As always working on stuff, ready to go on a moments notice full force....not sure where this year going to end up....and at this point, a little tired and if season off really don't care........will enjoy and continue work on things and then shift to next if/when becomes too late.........is what it is......and, for me, everything can likewise fall into place on a moments notice, so....just biding time, working on things....(AF fems not going to be ready for early season, so.....and then not sure going to plant later because would waste stock, no need to (gets late enough and can run regular stock for mini's./mid's....)

Hope all are well, going to be a good season I think weather wise...(no matter what I say though, I highly doubt that a season going to go by without me getting fired up and some point and pushing a lot through :biglaugh:)

Always have a wide selection of plans that can be executed at wide number of locations, most on moments notice. Many things I would like to do, and can adjust any or all for any given location and situation with a couple minutes of quiet.....

Doesn't seem or feel like best year ever......but....things change.......constantly....such is life, so...letting life do what it wants right now and getting ready to jump :smoke:

We'll see....ya never know :smoke:....

good to see your still around J.

I, like you, am ready to go at a moments notice if it works out but I got into an academic program for the summer that may not allow me the time to do anything more, and it's not something I want to jeopardize, or not be able to focus on completely. So well see if I do put anything out.

what method did you go with for the Fem af's? Im going CS just because it seems the easiest way for me in my situation and setup. Curious to hear about your results.
