Thc123:
yes Canna is strong but so far only the Early danes has shown signs of over nuting although all plants has gotten the same levels
so maybe she just a little picky?

Buddymate:
tnx for the positive comments
i hope you guys feels as entertained by watching it as i im doing it :)

SmokeyTheBear:
yes the majority of them
some of them are moms and dads that will be moved into an indoor room later, byt the majority of them, that being the early danish strains and crosses, will be put out in the fields starting tomorrow night if all goes well and then one strain or cross at a time depending on current sizes
largests first of course

little j:
tnx for the comments :)
yes its a big work but i hope by systematizing it like i do and keeping work for each plant as low as possible im still able to pull this off mostly alone

#1cheesebuds:
tnx :)

blackone:
tnx
regarding Carpatian
yes i think they sound much promising
mine got popped a little late this year but im also making pure seeds for next year and using them in a cross
i look very much forward to see how they perform

keke.nz:
yes i expect that POG dad to make some interesting and high yielding crosses indoors this winter together with some indoor/outdoor crosses with pollen from the fields against some of my moms and the clone only strains etc

regarding the corn strain
i plant for my first nightly canna corn mission Wednesday night if weather and moonphase allows it
then after that ill do one strain at a time starting with those that are largest
first planned for insertion is Early Dane, then Danish Passion, then Royal Dane and after those ill just do them one at a time depending on size

i might be able to take a few shots after transplant but its a security risk as the corn aint that tall yet
so it will only be done in fields with no nearby houses facing out to the field
from about end mid to end July the fields have gotten such as size that pix are possible on a regular basis but until then only a few will be taken in selected fields

tnx for all the comments

so far i had found 4 out of 8 fields needed
to day i was out cruising the countryside with a friend and i found 3 more suited corn fields so i only now need to find one more
the plan is i do the first transplanting tomorrow night
Early Danes, apr 140 or so, will be put out in one of the fields closest to my home
i cant guarantee pix from it
it depends on nearby houses etc
but if its possible ill of course take some pix of the ladies just after they have settled in

Gunnar, I'm speechless. Last I stopped by you had tons of wee ones on your hands, and now you've got an army of adolescents! Good luck with your transplanting, and I hope you have the opportunity to take some pics, as I will love to follow their development in the corn fields. Thanks for sharing your journey with us, as this is an amazing grow!

fantastic man. im new to growing and the corn field idea seems like a winner to me

Gunnar: what transportation method do you go about when moving starters to the site?

Been using these plastic container bottoms but only able to get about 10 1/2 gal bags at a time, would like to know something more efficient for the future reference.

Good luck and please be careful out there!
The corn I see is getting pretty tall now and growing very very fast so it's probably about time to get them out now:) I never managed to find any corn field with an acceptable access so it's all gonna be forest spots for me.

tnc guys

time for another of my "small" updates

sun is heating again after a period of rain and colder temperatures so the growth has taken up speed again

a pleasant surprise when it comes to earliness is the males from my 08 cross Royal Dane x Erocket/Danish passion
i have 8 males already making balls and i had to remove some of them due to risk they will soon spread pollen
sine they have been planned as a secondary strain/cross this year i wont have any of the males out in the fields, but such early pollen shall not be wasted so ill remove them sun to another spot in the garden where they can grow bigger and have pollen collected later
so far they grow fastest in the greenhouse so i plan to keep them as long as possible
so far 8 or 9 has shown sex as males and more just about too

Royal dane x erocket/danish passion
males in front

Early RDxErocket/dp males

Carpatian, Darwin seeds

Double Dutch moms
shes a good and potent yielder but damn shes a slow grower

square pots are Auto Lotze and round pots are Carpation
both from Darwin
some bug has decapitated yet another AL so now im down to 8

Danish Passion SOG

Freja from Sagaseeds

l27 aka leb27 aka lebanon27 aka leb30

Purple peace'

the row in the middle is Mighty Freeze

Mighty Mite x b3n7/erdPurTxroyal dane

Danish passion x nepal

danish passion and to the right its Early Danes
well in this pic is more a SOG

royal dane

Guerrilla Gold x danish passion f3
these are a little behind because they are in the more shady part of the GH

unfortunately the cam didnt take all that i had hoped but at the extreme right its from upper corner 2 c99 from Mosca, then 2 double dutch x c99 also from Mosca and the rest is my younger mothers and seedlings such as Endless Sky, Bifrost aka Bubblegum from Sagaseeds, all my younger come only strains such as Amnesia haze, cheese, sour diesel, sssdh etc

Older moms and a few dads incl my Pot Of Gold dad which i plan to use for some high yielding crosses against the clone only strains like Amnesia haze, cheese etc

SOG view

might be hard to see on these pix but ive had a few smaller problems with over fertilization esp on the Early danes although they have only been watered with 1/3 strength Canna tera vega and similar, so next watering will be pure water

stay tuned, safe and green

:yoinks:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:: i would give ya one:woohoo: for each plant my friend but only limted space i give ya a biiiiiiiig:kewlpics: and a Biiiig :respect:

tnx Kalle

heres the deeds of darkness from tonight

it is time to start the nightly missions

let the Children of the corn part begin!

inspecting the Early Danes befor putting them in cardboard boxes revieled that apart from the royal dane x erocket/danish passion males, the early anes also had males starting to flower already

good looking root mass already

using auto function to snap a few pix when putting plants in boxes
last time they will se the greenhouse
now the corn fields awaits

say goodbye greenhouse little ones

outside just before loading them unto a wheelbarrow and taking them to the car

last shot in the garden
its time to crank up the old car and say:
Corn fields, here we come!

about one month earlier than last year ( which was more an experiment and to get seeds) the first little ones are in the fields
corn in that field was around 30 cm so i had to dig the plants a little deeper in so they wouldnt be taller than the corn and stand out

notice all the little white "dots"
its slow releasing pellet fertilizer with an NPK grade useful for growth

well this is it for tonight
my knees and back are still hurting and the hart is also still pumping but i think its time for a well earned sleep now

stay tuned, green and safe

Wow Gunnar ! You're really sticking to the plan and doing this. Those babys are going to kick ass compared to last years. Careful cause they will be a lot bigger than last year...think you'll have to go and top them at some point ? I think some time this year you will get that weird feeling in your stomach that comes with the "holy fuck i've done some serious shit and it's almost scary" realization. Not altogether a bad feeling...a special grade of adrenalin for those who enjoy that kind of kick :yoinks:

Stay safe and remember and its always better to abort a mission if in doubt and live to overgrow another day.

Cheers.
