Everyone is flexing some serious thc muscle here recently keep it coming, So tuesday afternoon I get a a phone call from my landlord telling me they need to sell the house I live in because of a lien on the house they can't pay off, I understand and say well can I at least have the month to finish up what i need, the landlord allows me to grow so they are clear on whats going on, anyways they tell me sure but a Realtor needs to come in and get a key to the house on thursday morning! Anyways been taking everything down in the basement and get it the hell out within 48 hours, I am a extremely lucky person blessed with great family members and a best friend I can trust like a brother because they let me set up my gardens in those two spots til they are done.....The plus side of things are I found a new home to already live in, made my girl call a shit ton of rental properties looking for a house with a basement in the woods with few neighbors and a heat garage, and wouldn't know I found something in the great state of Maine, I took all this stress as a sign to move to a friendlier state, kind of a quick decision but if I wanted to keep growing without fear and stress it was either mass or maine, and for me Maine fits the bill, especially after the shitty as state I live in, I am gonna leave this place and not look behind only hard thing will be to leave all my true friends and relatives....

On the bright side I still have 90% of my garden and the blueberry in the 20 gallon is an absolute beast she could probably use 2 1k's just to her self, I will try and get pic up of her soon, she could barely fit in the enclosed trailer I borrowed to move her, it was about the only thing that gave me a chuckle this week.....

be good and stay safe everyone, next stop is to 99 plants of less is a misdemeanor land...

Otto,

Best wishes on your journey. Maine is definitely kinder on the growing issue than Mass. I'm sure you will have a blast with the new growing options and your MA friends and relatives are usually under a 3-5 hour drive away.. So can't lose there.

Hope all goes well.

Good day to stoke the fire and not go anywhere.
Was runnin' around in the slop yesterday, made a run to HydroEarth, closest grow store to me.
Chick came running out in the bad weather to give me $2 she overcharged me, I would never have known. Another good reason to go back. :good:

Lucky to be surrounded by good people, Otto! Glad you are safe and good choice on your destination. The land of Moose and Ganja!

Everyone's gear looks ridiculous as usual.

I need help on this one, I find these leaves very randomly in my veg area. I don't know what is eating them? I figured I'd ask the locals.

Hey Budelight,

It is really hard to guess when a strain will be done if you don't have a breeder listed flowering time - and try to look at it's early trichrome developments.

Really what you want to do is a get a $27 "420scope magnifying" glass that will let you zoom in and look clearly at the trichomes.
Buy 420scope @ http://www.420science.com/420-Scope

420_scope_and_box_300.jpg
889d1180419033-harvesting-trichome-color-2940when-harvest.jpg

Once you get this technique down; with a good eye on your plants you will be able to figure out when each strain you pop is in the range where you want to harvest. This is crucial for crosses in seed form that haven't been tested much for flowering times. Usually expect at least 60-80 days of flowering (there are some exceptions) most of the chemdawg family goes to about 80 days, and pure sativas' or hazes can take 80-120+ days depending on the sativa genetics. FYI, your plants don't appear to be pure sativa by growth structure - so it will most likely be somewhere between 55-85 days - but you never know it could be longer. This is why the 420scope is crucial and will help you figure out when it's ready no matter what strain or genetics you are using.

If I have multiple plants going of the same strain, sometimes I like to harvest each plant 2-3 days apart. So I can experience the different ranges of the trichomes' development process for more racy or stoney vibes for each strain.

Oh ya, if any of you have $100 to spend on a microscope for this, they have a 800x USB microscope that will work on any PC or MAC. Let's you zoom in deeper and also take photos of the trichomes on your computer as digital images. Cool stuff... @ http://www.420science.com/800x-USB-Microscope

Thanks Bi0hazard!,

That is a great photo showing the trich's in all their different stages. Mucho Gusto!

I bought this scope on ebay, works OK, not the most user friendly...

what i should have asked is When to Start Flushing?
If my assumption is correct, i should flush for a few weeks before the trich's start to cloud and amber. Not wait until they cloud/amber, then flush.... Right?

Thanks a bunch,
BeL

I hate those little microscopes, I've had a couple. Do yourself a favor and get something like this:

$4. @ my local hardware store, best thing I've ever bought there!

Check out the resin buildup from checking out buds for a couple of yrs. :D

^^ I was just gonna say that. I used to use a scope but came across one of these at the hardware shop up the street and had to try it.

The 4/20 scope is a rip off, marketed to weed heads so they want to charge 3x as much for it. If you want to use a scope, you can get the same exact one from Radioshack for 10-12 bucks.

budelight, using the scope works best, IMO, by cutting off a small calyx or sugar leaf and placing it over a black background. Scope against that & it's much easier. Scoping on the plant is damn near impossible unless you have a real, real steady hand.

MP, I don't know what causes that but I've seen it before. Keep me posted if ya figure it out.

Thanks for the tips of the cheaper better magnifiers. I ordered 2 generic ones off of Ebay back in the day and they were horrible, so the 420 scope was miles above those. But having the small microscope setup is a pain in the ass, that ultraoptic looks a lot easier to use =]

Thanks for all the kinds words everyone, thankfully I had permission to grow in the house and plenty of heads up, sorta, to get things out and clean up this comes with the territory of growing and I accept it and try to set my gardens up for easy take down for issues such as this.

You can buy those 420 microscopes at radio shack, at least you use to be able to, they're only like $10 bucks and magnify 60-100X but you need a steady hand, works well....

Anyone else not able to upload pics, took a few dry nug shots and wanted to post them, but it says their doing maintenance....

Still Image/Video Capture Resolution: 640x480, 1280x960,1600x1200, and so on, up to 20MP

The last time I tried a USB microscope was in '98 and it was pretty decent - I think 640xsomething resolution. I'm sure they improved the technology and resolution of the images since then.

Although I haven't tried the newer ones, if they are reasonably priced it seems like a good idea.

If you had a USB microscope you could take multiple accurate pictures that you could look at - knowing the image won't jump around at the smallest touch...

One of the biggest issues is getting the picture stable through a regular microscope, since its zoomed in the smallest movements jump a lot and create a blurring effect.
