He's a genius, got legit commercial/industrial creds like ya dream about; ask him any pest/pesticide/fertilizer interaction question... any media... any crop... saved my ass once or twice.

Well, one of the local growers I know gave me a vaportek 4000 because on these real windy days the stench of the diesel likes to blow out the cracks in the building, just blows past the scrubbers. The thing definately covers up the odor 100% but it makes walking into the grow room more like walking into a truckstop bathroom. I have it on the lowest setting, I don't want my bud to smell like a urinal cake, but as it is Rez' rec for total odor control it can't do that, can it? I'll just use it when it blows over 30knts or if any unwanted visitors show up....3 weeks to go for this little bud.

That's going to be some nice ass bud in three weeks dude.

I would say keep the smell to a minimal as much as you feel comfortable with. If you don't think anyone will care if your building stinks like diesel or not. If they will, then def keep that stench under control. Otherwise if you think it will hurt the yields, I for one say go big.

Well now if I had it my way, I'd only have a scrubber for my reflectors and diesel would drift around everywhere, but alas my way is the sure way to being ripped off. I live in such a great place but there are thieves around.Police I see all the time, my nieghbors kids usually start court dates by 7th grade and the cops are over there about 3X a week but they don't come near the big dog and they really don't bother me.Even just 3 thousand watts of diesel can smell up an area real badly, it's a bitch to control, I just wonder if anybody out there has had their bud stink like a urinal cake when using one of these vaporteks. I really shouldn't need to ask this question because the guy who gave it to me grows the best weed of all the growers I know around here and I have a bit of his ecsd right here and it smells 1st class.The offending herb...very early in flower around day 42 the stench starts to drift...

Hey chaco. no worries on the vaportek, been running the 4000 for a few years now and it will not ruin your bud.

Thou yours is on the lowest setting now, eventually the cartridge gets weaker and u need to turn the setting up.Turning it up just opens a holelarger to allow more air to circulate through the cartrige.

Eventually the coffee can cartridge dies out and needs to be replaced. every 2-3 months, maybe. never actually put a date on it when i installed a fresh one. so it may be 90 days to 150 days.

I believe the oil in the cartridges contains eucalyptus oils. they also sell just the oil. It should be set on low, almost so u cant smell it, but enough to mask the rooms odor. Maybe put it on a timer if its to much?

BTW, u get those mites eradicated? Those fuckers will pop up, gotta keep on them an hit them throughout the cycle efore they can reproduce again. Floramite says it lasts for 28 days, but it doesnt, gota hit them every 5 or so days for a few weeks and that should do the trick. that is unless your reintroduce it from somewhere else again. I swear, if i dont stop them this time. IM DONE....

Great, well today was the 1st day I used it so I'll mark that down. Turned it on about 2hrs ago and after a good walk around I picked up one little warm spot of dopey air. That was on the lowest possible setting, I'll turn it up and check again in few hours. Yes G-Man the mites are absolutely gone, 2 hosedowns and several plant dips in floramite.I stare at the flower tops just waiting to see them there weaving the pistils together and preparing to ruin my weed...so far I have seen a countable number of soil gnats in my seedling test area.They do still have time to set up but not destroy....

Chaco, I got a great business idea why don't we try and capture that diesel stank in a bottle then sell it as a cologne, We can call it Diesel for Men I bet you more people would like to smell like your room/building than u think.

But on a serious note and a solution, I don't know how shit is set up but can you not caulk the cracks in the wall. If they're too small to see try to put a couple of those huge ona block buckets and throw that in the garden they work well and u can get them at Wal-Mart. Also I got this thing at home depot called "The Gonzo" its just a netted bag of volcanic minerals. It makes odor disappear, safe around pets, non-toxic, and last for years. I haven't tried it in my garden yet but does work great around the house. Anyways good luck that is one of those problems that need to be fixed sooner than later.

Then I have these 3, They came from some beans I have and decided to cross with because they seemed like good plants to keep alive and going. I have about 150 left I gave some out and I only popped 5 for this run and got 3 females! The one to the left just has a straight diesely skunk thing going and excited to see what happens.

Chaco, I just remembered but if you buy the big scented yankee candles those work amazing will seriously over take the smell of everything. I light them when i do my trim work and I shocked how well they work.

I remember awhile back i seen a few posts on people having PM.

I started preparing my OD for the up coming season. And i ran across some North Cali threads, one of the OD masters out there claimed that foliar feeding baking soda and water will prevent PM.

Apparently it is claimed the baking soda raises the ph of the leaf suface high enough in which PM cannot live. If i had it, i try it.
