Marijuana + Reading

I know I can't be the only person here who enjoys lighting up a fatty and exploring the metaphysical. or am I? I've recently been smoking grand daddy purple and reading Thus Spoke Zarathustra. It really opens up my mind.. anyone else? what are you reading? what's your favorite strain to smoke before reading?

I have a hard time reading after smoking, can't focus. But I love to listen to audio books. Especially sci-fi/fantasy books, really get into them in that frame of mind.

"I like curl up by the fire with a good book, smoke some weed, throw the book on the fire and play some video games."

But seriously, reading and bud go hand in hand. Roll that shit up into an L or a J, and I can sit and read for what feels like forever. I love reading about anything from typography and color theory to psychology and sociology.

When I don't feel like reading something informative, I go for Dean Koontz.

Yes! A book thread! I love to read high. But hell, I love to read when I am not high. Currently I am reading Dune, The Machine Crusade.

I'm with acgreen on this one. Too hard to concentrate. I do love to read, and though I haven't ever tried to read while high, I find that it would be way too difficult. I do love to watch tv or movies though.

Yeah, reading is great and all. But I can think of other things to do.
Call me a greaser, but I like working on my car after smoking one.

I do not seem to be able to study or focus well when high, I'm better on electrical or"physical" problems, although I do enjoy reading Cervantes in the original classical spanish after firing up.Good night Don Quixote, good night Sancho!!PEACE!!! MUCHA LUCHA!!! :joint:

If you're into fantasy novels I highly recommend George RR Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. It's great with a cup of coffee and a head full of THC :)

Awesome :] I've been so lazy lately with reading, I still haven't finished the Battle of Corrin. Maybe sometime this week.

I also recommend A song of Ice and Fire series. Right now I'm actually reading Cat's Cradle by Vonnegut. Only my second Vonnegut novel. But my favorite fantasy series of all time would have to be Robin Hobb's Farseer Trilogy. Very very good read!

Yeah I agree, I love to read after a nice dose of the herbal. It's like my mind has more imagination and I find everything much more interesting.

Check it out - great fiction.

I've seen so many recommendations for Dune up here I'll be checking them out.

I like non-fiction most, however.

You definitely should. It is a great book and will keep you occupied for hours! Plots within plots. I read some Koontz when I was a lot younger, but I can't remember the title of the book. It was a good read though, haha.

reading while stoned is awesome! u get really involved into what u are reading. pretty intense.

ive read just about all the clive cussler books, he is a wonderful author. havent read much of his collaborations though.

another on of my favorites books ( if not my favorite) is Ernest Hemingway, for whom the bell tolls. and while i am stoned reading it, ernest goes off on little stories (that sometimes last 20 pages or more) makes me really think he was stoned because it goes well when i am stoned :D
