thats the stupidest list ive ever seen, i bet nutt professor hasnt done anything personally.
E at the bottom of the list!? bull fucking shit! e seriously fucks you up, uncut or cut!

the list is about how those drugs can harm/damage you. so if you do E properly, you should not die or suffer any problems from it.
but..... E can and does kill from allergies and from something to do with not having enough? or too much water? So imo should not be regarded as low risk.

im sure cannabis would be lower in that list if it wasnt smoked..

One of the main messages this guy was trying to put across is the ridiculous hypocrisy going on here, in that something as harmful as alchohol is legal, readily available and to an extent encouraged in society when something like smokin cannabis which is nowhere near as harmful can get you 5 yrs in prison!
He says cannabis should basically be legalised and regulated and the public given factual information rather than scare-mongering.

He needs our support!! :joint:

Doesn't matter if the Home Sec. just ignores his advice, or sacks him.

If we are very lucky, this might ignite a debate in the UK media about drugs policy. But that's as good as it will get.

You know why? Not just cause he published that list, but because he chose to include alcohol and tobacco in it! I suppose that was unprecedented and hadn't been approved in advance by the alcohol and tobacco bribers, uh I mean lobbies.

Watch they have to reject not only him, but his findings, otherwise the gov't might be FORCED to deal with alcohol and tobacco as the dangerous drugs they actually are by treating them as equal to marijuana.

Maybe it's time to frame the debate in those terms. Cannabis is SAFER than tobacco or alcohol. Also using cannabis makes you less likely to use as much tobacco or alcohol and new cannabis smokers probably won't become addicted to tobacco or alcohol. So these are direct threats to both businesses long-term viability. And they pay a lot of taxes and employ a lot of ppl and spend a lot of ad money and own a lot of politicians.

I read somewhere that Brits drink like three times as much alcohol as Americans. So guess what industry they are protecting.

We need to find politicians who are willing to protect the cannabis industry.

When will there be a powerful and influential cannabis lobby?

Skip asks: "When will there be a powerful and influential cannabis lobby?"
When there is somebody making enough money from growing it legally and they are smart enough to want to part with hard cash to protect that business.

It is a chicken and egg proposition and it's a devilishly hard egg to hatch. The activists in California are doing their best though. Cheers and godspeed to them.

Hey Skip, taken with a grain of salt and my dry sense of humor (that absorbs 47 times its own weight in excess reality) you want me to read something you didn't but have taken conclusions from??? "I haven't read that page" (Your quote) Huh? Really? But I did read it....your turn. Nothing about their savior enjoying it. I'm not harping on any thing and take it with a grain of salt (and reading) but I like a proof. Google returned 30,900 hits on "recipe for anointing oil". Seems there is more than 1. And with olive oil in it the oil may burn. Keep a water hose handy, do it outside. If you get a buzz rubbing it on yourself let us know.

Thanx for the reference but it leaves a bit to be desired. And if anointing oil did have Cannabis in it? And? (Those darn Christians are at it again LOL)

Yes, the Professor did get the shaft. Would love to have LSD legal for use in a controlled environment. Maybe we could bring our own tunes. Supposedly acid clears out of the body in 3 days. Easy piss test.

There ya go.......society is in denial that alcohol and tobacco are actually 'DRUGS'......

....and even when the authorities pay for a fully qualified Doctor to do the research into what are the most addictive drugs......they turn around and decide to fire him because of the results he comes up with which put alcohol and tobacco way above cannabis in how dangerous they are..........something we all have known for ages....

....oh...and cannabis can be lethal.....and has killed someone before a few years back when a customs agent was crushed by a ton of cannabis resin (hashish) that was being unloaded from a smugglers truck.......(so I have heard).....

....think about it....it probably costs about 20 cents to make a pack of cigarettes that are then sold for about $9 (in the UK) much of the profit going to the tax man.......the profit margins are probably similar for alcohol...........so the tax man is always getting 'minted' from the huge sales .

The government doesn't want the people to think that alcohol and tobacco are drugs (which they definitely are)......then they go and fire the guy they hired to tell us the truth of the matter........the whole thing smacks of a conspiracy to misinform us all......

I disagree... however

I believe they are safer in the physical department but when it comes to the mental aspect, LSD and MDMA aren't really a safe alternative to those.. they make you straight up crazy or e-tarded.

End of story.

Well im glad to see that Gypsy has understood whats going on here!

other people unfortunetly seem to be missing the point, he is not saying LSD is harmless and that people should do it, he is saying that the dangers have been overplayed by the government and that society is in denial over the dangers of alchohol, which it seems so are some other posters in this thread!!!

He has been sacked for doing what the government asked him to do but not coming back with the results they wanted to hear....this is what happens in dictatorships!!!

^^^ You're suprised???? Why do you think the governments of the world are so damn successful running their propaganda campaigns????

Point of the article: IF you don't overheat OR overhydrate on MDMA, there is little health risk OR risk of addiction BECAUSE of the function MDMA performs in the body. You will build a tolerance quickly due to depleting your Serotonin reserves. Hence, extremely SMALL RISK OF ADDICTION.

The same holds true for LSD, tolerance builds QUITE rapidly and once again there is an EXTREMELY SMALL RISK FOR ADDICTION.

The same holds true for Cannabis, when your CB1 and CB2 receptors intake THC etc, they become blocked and can not receive more of these chemicals. This prevents the active chemicals from producing more effects through "building of tolerance". And again, there is an EXTREMELY SMALL RISK FOR ADDICTION.

That was the point of the article: Safer = Smaller risk of Abuse and/or Addiction

Gordon Brown and that Jacki Smith make me sick! Rejecting scientific advice for their own goals is a crime! I wonder what the next governments views will be? I also see that adults in Watford aren't allowed into playgrounds to look after their kids now, WTF is going on in England?

This story has legs, and the controversy seems to be heating up big time!

More may resign from the drug advisory panel!
http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Politics/Professor-David-Nutt-More-Advisers-May-Quit-Says-Ex-Drugs-Tsar-Sacked-By-Home-Secretary/Article/200910415427618?lpos=Politics_Top_Stories_Header_3&lid=ARTICLE_15427618_Professor_David_Nutt%3A_More_Advisers_May_Quit_Says_Ex-Drugs_Tsar_Sacked_By_Home_Secretary

This may finally reveal publicly what is really going on behind the scenes with drug prohibition. How special interests groups lobby governments to keep marijuana illegal and how the DEA pressures these supposedly sovereign governments to tow their prohibitionist line.

Good to see scientists grow some balls and stand up to the politics & politicians that regard their research as biased, when in fact it is the politicians themselves who have the bias. Let the politicians refute the science with their own twisted logic, then the people will see what fascists look like. Repress the people so the corporations can profit at the expense of the public's health and well-being.
