Maria's Subtropical Outdoor Guerilla Grows with Connoisseur Genetics (Perpetual Journal)

A couple of days ago, I took the time to smoke a little and work on my much neglected vege garden.
I first thought of having four bong hits in the morning, with a couple more after lunch.
That would be hitting my limit on these plants, as two hits is enough to get you high already, and three is pushing my limits for any form of social interaction or productive work.
I ended up just having three bong hits that morning, as I started a bit later, and another two later.

But, to the point:
About 5 minutes after the first three, I was walking through a trail in the forest, that I know well.
For a minute of two I had a very deep sense of being protected by divine forces, who were present next to me.
Like the very gods were next to me, sending me their love and care.

It was a very lovely experience, and almost left me in tears.
This is some amazing herb!
Oh, it was mostly the Sticky SSSTN, but there was a bit of the Grail NLD pheno in the mix, too.

Day 168: 135V + 33F

Today's update was due to a special check up in the face of these very strong winds.
As you can see below, it was a good think I did visit!

It looks like they are lying down for a nap.....

PXL_20240905_004944522.MP.jpg

Oh dear....

All the pics today look a little bit battered.
They've been lying on the ground, don't know how long, but doesn't seem long.
Some of the growing tips then turned up to the sun, so when I righted them, they're pointing a bit funny.

Family pic

After putting them back on their feet again, plus some work watering, and weighing down the pots with a few bricks and heavy wooden pallets, here's a better family pic.

Mid: Grail x ThaiFrican girls and L'n'L Jones girl
Right: Grail girl

Luckily only a tiny bit of soil came out, and while they became a little loose in the pots, not really any damage.
The wind has just eased off now, fortunately.

I will need to do some more extensive support work.
These tops are only going to get longer and heavier as time goes on...

They're still there, a bit shaken up after the fall.
Didn't check for any further male/female identification.

Bats!

There were bats, flying around my head.
No pics, just minding my own business today.

I need to get in on the weekend and do some better support work.
Weigh down the pots themselves, somehow.
Tie the plants, somehow.
And maybe try to get even more soil or whatever into those pots.

Happy growing, my friends.

Peace and Love,
~MJS

Day 170: 135V + 35F

Last visit just two days ago.
But wanted to go today because of the wind situation -- had they fallen down again?!
And also to water as I'll be away for quite a few days.

Weather today clouding over, maybe some light rain --- hopefully!
And forecast says maybe some more over the next four days or so.

Got to the site and they were all good.
The water in the pots and the brick plus wooden panels held them down.

Hard to guess the height of them, now, as several are leaning a bit after the fall.
The SSSTN may be catching up to the taller Grail x ThaiFrican!

Moving along quickly now, good to see.
Maybe she is more of the SSSDH leaning pheno?

She's the delicate looking one.
Maybe a bit more of the 'wild' pheno OJD mentions.
And it does seem that she is a bit slower than the 'Sticky' pheno.

Both these SSSTN ladies have some stretch still left in them.

Grail (fast pheno) x ThaiFrican (medium pheno)

PXL_20240907_021356081.jpg

Sorry, that's a terribly unfocused photo, haha!
Lots of cluster buds forming, quite leafy at this point.

PXL_20240907_021401464.jpg

Queen of the Garden, this girl!
Since the fall, she was leaning heavily to one side.
I propped that heavy brick that's weighing down the pot against her base to keep her upright.
Here's one of her smaller side colas.
PXL_20240907_021409173.jpg

The stretch seems effectively finished now.

One Lemon 'n' Lime Jones

PXL_20240907_021342687.jpg

I bent her sideways for this pic.
Chunky up in a big way.
Pulling out every little brown or even yellow leaf out of her, as I don't want any nasties in there...
Almost done, maybe just a couple of weeks to go -- end of September should be perfect!

Seven SSSTN x ThaiFrican seedlings

Good news, and bad news.
Seven girls out of seven regular seeds! Wow!
But, means I can't make any seed this round. Oh no!

This girl has always been a bit more sensitive.
She's still doing quite well, but just seldom seems to look in full health and vigor.
Still, here's a look at a side cola.

[Edit: accidentally put the pic of the taller Grail x ThaiFrican here by mistake. Since the original pics are not deleted from my computer, you'll just have to use your imagination!]

< Deleted pic here >

Coming along nicely.
Just a little bit slower than the taller Grail x ThaiFrican.

Bats!

Bats, lots of bats.
But due to the time I visited, it was quite dark in there, so no pics, sorry!

A bit of danger on site today.
Just about 5 minutes after I got to the garden, first removing dead and dying leaves,
I heard some voices not far, two people I think.
I thought they might just be workers out by the road, no problem.
But then they really seemed to get close.
I was very sure they were in the alley in front of the apartments.
Just workers, or ... something more dangerous?
I went into ninja mode, and slowly went down the stairs...
On the stairs of the 2nd-3rd floor, I could see a pair of jeans outside this very apartment!
Get ready to move, fast, I thought!!!
But then they turned and left.
After another 5 minutes, it seemed all was safe.
Were they doing a little inspection?
Planning on coming in and cutting the grass, like in spring?
When I left, I walked past the gate, and it had been opened and closed again (lock and chain was sitting differently -- I pay attention!)

Okay, don't panic, just play it safe.
One thing, though, I know that it is possible to flip open the lock and get to the site from the gate now.
Luckily last visit I pulled the plants back from the edge a bit.
You can barely see them from down below now.

Happy growing, my friends.
Stay safe!

Peace and Love,
~MJS

I'm out of town for a few days.
But I just couldn't resist, worried about their water supply.
So made a quick visit as I headed out.
Nice and early in the morning.
All looked good on site.

The Grail x ThaiFrican tall pheno is leaning north with her giant cola forming.
It was nice to be with them at the start of the day.

Day 176: 135V + 41F

Four days since last water.
They will be a bit thirsty.
Hopefully they're still standing okay, and lots of wind again lately.

On site, it appears the workers have been in.
They've cleared out most of the crazy spring to summer jungle.
It's easier to get on site, don't have to push through the jungle weeds.

Garden is fine, they wouldn't have even seen it.

Family pic

Don't mind the dropping leaves, they're just thirsty.
Shouldn't be too dry to cause any real damage, though.
Horrible angle for a pic, as the sun is in front to the side.
But you get the idea, right?

These two ladies are in no rush, it seems.
Probably the healthiest of all the plants in the garden.

At least, I think this is the Sticky pheno.
They're really looking a bit different this round, with a full veg period, and gradually going into fall.

The biggest pot, the busiest pot!
Rearranged that brick with some padding to support the tall girl.
L'n'L is poking out the bottom.

All stretched out, and now filling in those branches and flowers.

PXL_20240913_012733450.jpg

This is just a little back branch on the shaded side.
Still stretching out, but filling in all the way back.
She has about 8-10 big lower branches that will yield well.
Another 8-10 smaller upper branches that will have nice colas, too.
And the main cola is 2'-3' feet long, with a little more to it as well.

Rather a sad looking plant, all thirsty and terrible lighting.
She's getting there, won't be long now.

Seven SSSTN x ThaiFrican seedlings

Last time I said seven girls out of seven.
Maybe one of them still hasn't shown sex after all.
If there's a boy, this is the time for him to show himself.
Lots of pretty girls waiting, I must say, hahahaahaa!

A bit sad and thirsty looking, but she'll bounce right back, for sure.

PXL_20240913_012815250.jpg

Going to be so much bigger and better than her first round in life!

Bats!

Lots of bats in the bat cave today.
No pics, as I was on the move.

Happy growing, my friends.
Stay safe!
