Hola!

Thanks for the kind words.

Trichome production:
The bigger SSSTN is amazing, big calyxes, plenty of large trichomes, and the calyxes quite quickly mature as well. I think this will win the trichome production competition. Smaller SSSTN still in progress so hard to say.
The more indica pheno of the Grail NHxMM was similar -- large calyxes, plenty of trichome growth. This girl comes second. Slightly smaller calyxes on the NLD pheno.
The two tiny Thai Madness were also very sticky, just small root-bound plants from seedling.

Environment not quite perfect, but close. Hot week this week with more to come so I need to get out and water them.
They all look so incredibly Healthy, not lacking anything at all. Great job on those! I wonder which of them has the ''clearest'' / most-functional effect for daytime. I love the antidepressant effects that good Sativas can bring to the table, I'm hoping I can finish my Golden Tiger inside properly, after putting her in the tent next month at around 6- weeks in. I'm guessing 8 more weeks from that point, I should probably put her on shorter light / longer darkness (10/14 photoperiod) to help move her towards finishing that long flowering? Any tips on finishing Sativas are appreciated 👍

Hola Sparkus!

Surprisingly healthy, perhaps a little too green, but no N tox like clawing. I think the 30% worm castings helps a lot, plus the mycco and kelp meal, for general soil/coir health. Haven't had a single test smoke yet, but just grabbed one of the tiny Thai Madness buds for a test in the next few days (I hope!)

Yes, sativas certainly can do that. Where I come from / grew up, that's all we had. Well, really, nobody talked about 'sativa' or 'indica', that only happened once the Dutch strains started showing up in the 90s, and that was only in the big cities, not where I am from. We talked about herb from where it was grown, all local names. Anyway, yeah, lifts you up, for sure. It's been a long long time since I've grown or even smoked any proper sativa / long flowering plants. Looking forward to it!

Golden Tiger is on my list, for sure. Especially the 3rd version. And the Zamaldelica. Don't have any tips. As I said, long time since I've grown these kinds of plants. First grow was ... early 90s. Patience. Keep up a bit of N during the stretch. Slowly move from N to PK as she fills out the flowers. I use organic nutrients, slow release pellet types, so I have to think that when I give the nutes that is there for the next 3-6 weeks or so. So have to keep ahead of things. Patience. Keep the watering nice and even. Keep her in the sun. I guess going 11/13 or 10/14 should help, but then she'll get less sunlight, and they always love the sunlight.

But I should not speak too soon. Have a look at my girls today. Post to follow...

Day 124 -- from sprouting!

5 days since last visit and post.
Warm very sunny weather.
Highs from 21C-25C.
No rain at all.
RH around 45% midday, maybe 70% overnight.
Perfect flowering weather!

Building Two:

2 X Grail Project NH18 x MM pheno 1
(reg) = (NH18 x MM pheno 1) x (NH21 x MML Male) (12-16 weeks)
In a 15L pot.
Last pollination day 69, 50 days / 7+ weeks ago.

Miss Grail (NLD pheno) -- Day 124 = 42V + 84F:

She's still ticking along nicely, thank you.
Getting a bit fox-taily up top in a good way, more new pistils and flowers showing.
Still a few weeks away, so I'll just let her fade out naturally.

Miss Grail (indica pheno): Harvested Day 112 = 32V + 80F

Drying nicely due to the weather.
Dry enough to smoke, but leaving her a bit longer.
Lots of those seeds popping out into the laundry bag.

2 X Super Silver Sour Thai Nevil (fem) = Swiss Thai Nevil 1 clone X SSSDH OJD cut Reversed (10-12 weeks?)
In a big 20L pot.
Last pollination day 69, 57 days / 8+ weeks ago.

Today's photo from a different angle so you can see both of them.
Big Miss on the left, Little Miss on the right.
Big Miss is kind of chunky now, and Little Miss is really chunky -- from a distance.

Now... if you're like me, you're going to think: mold!
But, looking closely, I'm really not sure.
Kind of like it, dried dead material up top.
But no signs of actual moldy growth on it.
And it's been very dry and quite warm.
I think it may just be dryness, like a kind of burn.

Thought about that back and forth, and made the big decision:
No chop!
Leave her and check again early next week.
Weather will still be very warm and dry for these few days.

Big Miss SSSTN: Day 124 = 32V + 92F

PXL_20240216_085022624.jpg

She's also starting to get a little fade, yellowing of the older leaves.
Another sign she's almost ready.
Her sister is still dark green, so it's not a lack of N in the medium.

Little Miss SSSTN: Day 124 = 63V(?) + 61F

Those flowers remind me of Ace's Honduras I ran a couple seasons ago, had only one lady of the green Michoacan type, harvested about 3 weeks early, and still after a good cure it was very nice, some of my favorite buds of that time. Your plants definitely have that Thai-Haze appearance, calyx-stacking and branching, great job all the way around friend! I bet the properly finished and cured product is some tasty dynamite🔥

Gotta love those open tropical flower formations.
Luckily there should be enough of this larger SSSTN girl to cure for a while.
I'll have to keep my hands off most of the two NHxMM to let them cure properly, too.

Give me hope Maria give me hope Maria :groupwave:

Thanks for sharing and a happy weekend
Thanks for stopping by!

It was a most awesome weekend!

As St Francis taught:

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

How long of a cure do you find brings out the best smells, flavors, and effects resulting in a properly-cured product? 🌿. I ended up smoking all my Honduran before my plant got a good loong cure on it😊. I really enjoyed that 'awake' / uplift her buds provided already after just a short cure. The green Honduran chopped early still provided a nice morning wake n bake flower, that I remember was suuper-smooth and tasty, with a nice Sativa effect I enjoyed, as it was different than the ''standard-mutts'' (mostly indica-hybrids) I'm more familiar with. Putting a few Sativas outside this season, including Mandala - Satori, DNA- Cannalope Haze, and Serious Happiness (AK-47 x Warlock).

I'm not the expert on curing, but in the past I'd say after maybe 3 months it takes on a better character.
Sort of a steep curve, in that the improvements are more obvious over the first weeks, then while it keeps getting better it takes exponentially longer time to do so.

Day 129 -- from sprouting!

5 days since last visit and post.
Warm very sunny weather.
Highs from 25C-28C.
No rain at all.
RH around 70% midday, up to 95% overnight!
Temps and sun are great, but the humidity has been a big concern!

Building Two:

2 X Super Silver Sour Thai Nevil (fem) = Swiss Thai Nevil 1 clone X SSSDH OJD cut Reversed (10-12 weeks?)

In a big 20L pot.

Definite multiple instances of botrytis.
Most of them are quite small, but they are here and there.
On both the big and smaller SSSTN plants.

Big Miss SSSTN: HARVEST Day 129 = 32V + 97F

Therefore, chop time!
Otherwise would have liked to leave her a bit longer.
Though, day 97 is a day short of 14 weeks.

PXL_20240221_003747800.jpg

I removed the small botrytis affected areas by hand.
Damn my fingers got sticky, hahahaha!!!

PXL_20240221_003752733.jpg

Still plenty of lovely juicy flower left after that, so don't worry!

PXL_20240221_003756418.MP.jpg

I cut her down using the saw blade on my Victorinox pocket knife.
Had to saw away there for quite a while.
I note that in some other threads of SSSTN grows, people say they are thin stemmed.
True, they aren't thick, but mine were very strong.
I think plenty of wind at this outdoor site strengthened her up.

I took the drying Grail (indica pheno) from the laundry bag
Lots of seed with that, too.

Then cut the two seeded branches from SSSTN (from Mr ThaiFrican father) and bagged them.
Need to catch the seeds from that cross, as this girl looks so good up to this point (testing pending).
Left a big lower branch and some small lower fluff on the main stem, see what happens with them!
The rest of the plant I just hung upside down, no trim.

PXL_20240221_004121871.jpg

Back behind her inside is the Little Miss SSSTN.
She's getting very bulky very quickly.

The last Grail (NLD pheno) also had a couple of tiny spots of botrytis.
Removed, but may need to cut her soon as well.
Pity, because she's still definitely putting out fresh pistils and needs a few more weeks.
Today would be day ... 89 (almost 13 weeks).
Okay, close to OJD's note of 12-16 weeks, and isn't too crazy early to be honest, just start of harvest window.

Those are some high humidity levels you mentioned, Maria. If botryitis was starting to rear its head, yes, I too would have harvested. W are having similar high humidity and hot season has started early. Already had a bit of powdery mildew trouble with the Lao Gold and had to throw out what looked like a pretty nice branch, but I have way more than I know what to do with anyway. Still have about 5 more weeks to try and get through with my Bokeo, She's already lasted a few days longer and going strong than my Lao Gold which crapped out 6 weeks ahead of the 6 month mark. She looks like she'll go the distance but the damn humidity is back at night/early morning.

Yeah, after that very dry week, we're back to normal: about 70%-80% during the day, and 80%-90%+ at night.
If a cultivar can survive 14 weeks flowering here without turning to a complete lump of black-gray goo, then that's already impressive in my experience.
I want to emphasize this point.
The genetics here are great, most other strains would have succumbed a long time ago!

Wow, that sounds a few notches worse than here. We normally have 3-4 months of good humidity levels, so this year it will be three unfortunately.

Yeah, Thailand is a bit better than here.
You have something of a 'dry' season there, that others may call winter (except that Thailand is still so hot!)
Maybe 50 km and further south of here they have a dry season.
We don't do that here.
Today at my place of work, the basement floor is just wet from the humidity condensing on the cold tiles. Not damp or moist, but just straight wet like somebody mopped the floor but forget to dry mop afterwards.
