I pulled the top bud off of one of my plants yesterday. My impressions. First I'm a lightweight. I haven't smoked in three weeks so... It was dried one day then microwaved several times in 10 second intervals in a jelly jar with plastic lid on loosely . Each time I microwaved it I opened the jar, blew out the water which had turned into steam, and got a good whiff of bud. The base smell is very odd. I don't really have the words for it but I'll try.It's somewhat similar to that citrus cleaning fluid. Not the consumer stuff. The consumer has more of an orange lemon smell. I'm talking about the industrial stuff that comes in fifty gallon drums. Also maybe a lemon rind without the strong lemon smell. Now take away the orange and lemon smell and add brake fluid, a little vinyl float, then add a little lemon pledge. Very light on the lemon. I also had one plant with a distinct orange smell added on top. I took two hits in a wooden pipe. Not the best but it's what I had handy. It was smooth and had a hash taste. Very good. Two hits was enough. I was buzzed good. It was an up high but not paranoia with your heart pounding. The kind of high where you want to get up and do something. Not to much fogging of the brain. When I came down it didn't make me tired. It's a good daytime smoke. Probably wouldn't be good for sleeping. I need to mention all the trichomes were clear and the pistils still clear. The bud wasn't done yet. I've smoked Diesel Ryder and this was better. To get the same place with the Diesel you would need maybe roughly three hits maybe.... four depending on which diesel strain. All together a winner. I bet it gets stronger if you grew it with more care and harvest at the right time. I notice there' s a big hoopala about flush vs. no flush. Mine wasn't flushed or cured and it tasted fine to me. I may flush a couple of plants at the end to compare but most I'll just pull and dry.

Wow, bee, they really are filling in. Gone from slender sticks to to buds on a stick Did you end up using or saving any of the herm pollen?

Yes . I had two plants reverse Hermi. Male turn to Female. The first one was huge. A very aggressive grower and pollinator. I couldn't help but use some of the pollen. I pollinated a small bud. May only get a few seeds. One day I'll see what they will do. The other hermi I destroyed. I wish I would have saved some of it's pollen. It was a good looking male. Too late now. The majority of my plants are seeded by three males. Two flowered early at the same time and had remarkably similar structure and flowers. I mixed their pollen together and called it early pollen. The other was much later flowering and had a bit more flowers. Not extremely more though. I pollinated separate buds with it and kept track of what was what.

Here's a picture of a Blue Streak with a F2 Diesel Ryder next to it. The diesel ryder is only I guess 4 or 5 weeks old. It's got a ways to go. The Blue Streak's are far superior plants so far compared to the diesel ryder. I planted several F2 Diesel Ryders to test different methods of sprouting seeds and transplanting. Might as well grow them out. They're up now.
The BS is the one to the right. Also there is a shorter Blue Streak showing just it's top just to the left of middle of the picture. Look how shiny it is. The resin is so soaking the leaf that it looks like plastic. All the ones that are real short look like this. I bet you could smoke the bud trim and get high as hell. I took a lot of pics but most didn't come out.
Here's the only close up that came out at all. Hide the children. Bud porn.

The bud that I pulled off a week ago has been sitting in a jar for a week. A friend and I partook of it tonight. I took two hits. It's astoundingly good. It's gotten better in just a week. It kicked my ass. If the autos are this good how good are the normal strains? Can you even smoke them without going catatonic?

Sometimes I wonder if something of that high potency is fun to smoke. I mean, I enjoy smoking and tasting my weed. How fun is a smoke if you can only take a puff or two ?
Also, potency doesn't directly affect the quality of the high, its the ratio of cannabiniods.
So...
How was that high ?

When i go out to buy a good bottle of wine I dont look for the one with the highest Alcohol content...
Its not really the same but there are similarities I recon...

The Blue Streak as it is , is good enough. I got two , or almost two because of serious coughing, hits and was baked. It was a creeper and had waves at times where I said ," Holy Shit I'm really fucked up". The duration was about 3-1/2 to 4 hours and then I stayed high after that but not as intense. My vision was slightly cartoonise. I could operate a vehicle although I slowed down and paid close attention. After 3-1/2 to 4 hours I lost some of that introspective thought patterns and became more normal in my thinking although still high. Was extremely busy the whole time. Didn't feel like sitting still. I want you to understand I'm not a smoke all day kind of person. Have been smoking a little more lately. Sampling. Usually I only like to smoke on weekends. Maybe every couple of weeks.
What I wonder is how is the Sour 60. Is it the same type of buzz or more indica. The Blue Streak is very good. It's up but not a lot of anxiety. I tend towards getting uncomfortably anxious with some weed and do not enjoy that. This was a good happy medium. I'll post some more pics later. Believe or not they are still getting fatter. I've got them under 24hrs. light now. It was cold where I was growing them. So put on a heater or leave the lights on? This is a no brainer.
On how good does it need to be. I once saw a High Times reality show where they took these guys and girls to Amsterdam. They put them on a houseboat in a canal and gave them pounds of the stuff entered into the High Times cup. They proceeded to smoke enormous quantitys. One guy disappeared during the night. He came back the next day and said he wasn't going to ever smoke weed again. He said he had a religious experience and a goddess told him not to smoke any more and he was done. He wasn't about to smoke any more no matter how much everyone ragged on him. I don't know if I wish to be that high. I ate mushrooms several times when I was younger. The last time I ate a very very large quantity. I don't wish to recreate that experience. Once was enough.
I wonder why Mdanzig is discontinuing these? Could Sour 60 be that much better? It makes no sense to me.

More pics. They're winding down now. A lot have yellow leaves. I may have let my watering go a little to long. I wanted to make sure they didn't get flooded. They probably should be picked right now or a few days ago. I want the seeds to start coming out before I pick them though so I'll let them go way past prime time picking. The first pic is my smallest. It's really thick and solid.

They seem to be not quite as filled up. I'm not sure if it's lack of water or they're concentrating on making seeds. I'll watch the next few days and see.

Last post mentioned low water. Yes they were low. Watered good and they popped back.
May have a problem. Anybody know what this is? The plants should have been cut down already but I want seeds so I'm letting then go until the seeds are about to fall out. Are the plants just getting old or is this some kind of mold? Look at the leaf on the right. It has a dark brown coloration.
This one has a kind of rust color. I've seen this on other plants towards the end of life but not so much.
Any ideas? I'm thinking about spraying them with Potassium Bicarbonate which is the active ingredient in greencure. It's supposed to kill mold. I actually ordered this before I started the plants just in case. Here's a thread talking about mold that mentions greencure.

Something I forgot to mention. I was removing yellowed and dead lower leaves and even the stems are sticky with resin!

It might be nute burn. I let the water level get to low. I believe this would concentrate the nutes left. I've only seen one seed peeping out and the seeds are not done yet. I'll flush with water and spray with Potassium Bicarbonate just to make sure. Most look OK. Just a couple have problems.

I had two male Blue Streaks that were earlier and looked very similar. I mixed their pollen together. I had one that was later I kept separate. I also had one that reverse hermied (male with some female pistols) that I also kept the pollen separate. I made sure all plants were fertilized by early and late pollen. The hermi I only pollinated a small bud. So each female has some of each. The little green tags are to keep up with what's what.
