mr freeman.. they totally will stay at your outdoor grow. my bf and i have an outdoor grow and the mantises are all over it. sometimes we move them to there and they hunt the bugs around it.. but mainly stay under the fan leaves, hiding. they are crazy. we;ve seen purple, brown and green varieties. its awesome. and the other day we saw two mantises fight and one bit the other ones head of within seconds. truly awesome little creatures if u ask me!
