I am growing out some of the seeds done with that male that turned female, i will post some photo's of them as soon as they stop stretch and there is something to look at. I believe as well that this was a regressive trait of the c99,( F2 male ) be back in a few weeks

Finally, got 3 true females and 1 true male, so to speak. I have stressed 2 of the 3 females and so far no nanners, i clone 1 of them @ 60 day from seed ( 12/12 ) and rooted directly. The other one is revegging and showed new growth whitin a week.

That said , the third female

she is very vigorous and easy to clone, this one will be documented in this 3D, to follow the progress .

Hey sgapetti!

Looking good. I'm thinking you're going to be pleased with the outcome of your "backward male" cross seed.. If my guess is correct you might find the "male" in the group is like it's dad. Keep posting, I'm keen to know how they'll turn out.

I usually just read the posts on this forum but I am interested enough about this subject I thought I would reply.
Last year I grew some GDP and just for fun I saved a male to make some seeds.
The male GDP had purple male flowers, and as I didn't need a large male plant, I severely pruned him. About two weeks later (outdoors) I saw female pistils forming on him. After finding the DJ Short article I decided to keep the male and breed him.
After another few weeks the male had about 50% male flowers and 50% female flowers. Upon looking closer many of the female calyxes had three pistils (instead of two). Slowly all the female calyxes faded away leaving only male flowers.
Throughout this entire time the male created pollen, the female flowers on the male plant created no seed.
I pollinated a purple SLH (super lemon haze) and a nice GDP (granddaddy purp). Both plants seeded well, I did a test germination from both mothers and had a 90% germination rate.
Two months later the babies look normal and I had 75% female to 25% male ratio. I didn't have the room to finish these girls, so I gave them to a freind to finish for me.
I will post here to let you know I any of these test offspring turn hermi. (I have 12 of these test plants).
Is the DJ Short article accurate? I hope to find out!

Yeah, had obviously male plants start showing female parts. Intersex traits can show on both female and male plants.

so far so good, just want to make sure they do not go hermi on me as i want to use a male to make a polyhibrid cross:tiphat:

Very nice!!i have got mainly females so far, but have to germinate more seed to confirm this, anyway appreciate your input very much, let me know how they turn out:tiphat:

i understand intersex trait, so to speak , the interesting in those backward males found in my cross is beside the high percentage of females the possibility that those males passes more interesting traits to the crosses as described in the DJ Short article. I will keep this 3D updated, thx to all for your contributions

actually had this happen to a male that ive been keepin alive for about 2 years.. i made seeds with him.. and actually they all turned out great.. then about 25 months after cloning the male.. it started to toss a few pistils.. here and there at the nodes only.. so i was thinking shit.. i only hit like 6 different females. with him.. and i have ran the seeds.. with no hermis. and about 70 percent female.30 percent male.. in all the seeds.. so far have females that are amazing.. so i think these males that hermi could be a good thing? iunno im going to pop more of the seeds this outdoor season.

id like to know if these are just hermis.. or males that stressed hermi.. or wat lol its confusing.. because if its a backwards hermi. and is creating female /male seeds... then it cant be a hermi hermi.. because wouldnt the seeds be feminized? if it was hermi pollen?

As long as you get male/female seeds and a higher percentage of female , means that the pollen is ok ( so to speak ) otherwise you will get , as you stated , only female seeds. Should be interesting if you post a picture of you females if you get a chance.

Please let me know if you find backward males in the F2 generation, very interesting!

i've heard male hermies are actually highly desirable ... look into it.

Thx all for posting

Ok, so i have this male that put out female flowers. He/she is Alphacronik Jackpot Royal x Reseva Privada Sour Kush. At first the flowers didnt put out any polin that i could see. I forgot about it and let it go a while. Checked it this Am and saw polin galore. So i am bagging a branch overnight to collect. The male has a skittle spacequeen strong smell. Could the pollin be sterril?

The father of the lady i am documenting in this 3D was a backward male. A male that showed females pistils, dust few branches and grow out the seeds, the only way to find out.

The lady in question

I have several in veg, just wondering what to dust. I have Goji OG, Head Trip, Blue OG, Nornther Light Blue, Martian Kush, Light of Buddha seeds came in batch medicine from a local dispensery, Fruity Cronik Juice. Im thinking the Martian Kush becuase the JPR has Spacequeen in it. The Head Trip becuase Bodhi said to breed with it. Any sugjestions are appreciated.

sgapetti...I had a hard time pronouncing that but....heh...
I see a dark clawing sorta of stressed plant...grower issue...poss not genetic...just sayin...hazes need hardly any N...and the claw is a combo of N over dose and pH issue...so enviro stress = herm reaction..
als by Dj mentioning resinated ,ales and hermie's it also says allot...for 1 that the plant had P avail and was "resinating" at all should be more understood before giving a simple explanation...funny how breeder make their own conclusions..
just my 2 pents tho....keep rollin

Wsup FOE , just trying to understand, I am getting both males and females from the cross made with the backward male , that should exclude the hermy teory . I am just growing them to see what it comes out of it, and sharing along the way.

I basically make crosses , smoke them , if i like them i keep growing them, and if i don't i stop growing them , very simple actually.

That said , thx for the input , appreciated!
