Malawi Style Cob Curing.

I made some cobs with Emoji from Mass Medical Strains. One plant had purple in it. I vacuumed them for a week, dried it overnight with a fan, vacuumed it for another 3 weeks. They were then very wet and I sliced the cobs up so they would dry out. The vacuum pack sucked out their juices and I think the purple juice was pretty cool. They smell more like candy than cannabis. And their smoke harshness in a pipe is about the same as the cured flower I also made. Thanks for sharing the method Tangwena!

Good on you for giving it a go but....
They look a bit too wet if the juice came out like that best to dry them more and then let them age for 3 or 4 months.
They are way to young to be using them already.
The best effects and taste usually only come after at least 3 months aging post cure.

Thanks, I dried them out after a month and keep them in a jar around 50% humidity. On the upside, the positives for what I did made curing them easier and now they take up less space. I'll have to give cobbing another try!

I’m so relieved I only tried a wee nibble for my first chew. I managed to do all my errands. It’s been a long time since my eyes were that red. 😂 Also, I did nap for a few hours. 😅 I’m so glad my cobs are ready after first finding your post last summer. 😋

This looks like a proper cob.
Cob #2 at 5 months. Purple Satellite
62 grams. sous vide
I got ahead of myself and made this one a bit early. I was excited. It only hung 2 days. So it started at 84%

It has an unusual smell. Nothing bad.
Different from everything so far.
I think I'm getting a little action.

A faint pickle like smell. Esther's and alcohols I suspect from fermentation
1000028446.jpg
It keeps dropping moisture while under vacuum from 84 to 61 to 49 and now 36%. Its heavy and dense like a twist of plug tobacco.

I vaped a couple small hits.
It was smooth and I could feel it over my previous morning toke.
No time today to try a chew. That will have to wait. I want to block out some free time for that.

How do you think it looks?
Just re-vacuum it?
Let it dry out a bit first?

Appreciate all for this great thread.

Hello everyone, hope everyone is well sorry I haven't been around here much lately but virgin for some reason thinks that it's worth being banned on my internet. Along with pornhub 👀

Had a plant herm and seed 3 MTxOTH x ZxC and a mango Thai, so I let them finish out side of the tent. Chopped and dried. Sweated for 6 hours and is now currently drying. Smells intoxicating. I'll be now reading back from where I was in this thread so sorry if I don't reply straight away. Anyway here's some weed lol

It looks great from the pics but its very hard to tell anything from photos other than looks.
Its all in the smell and taste after the look.
Yes dry to the touch on the surface and back in the bag to age more.
Yesterday I had some Mulanje from 2023 blew my socks off pure ecstasy and go go go.
Come the evening I was rooted and slept like a baby ha ha.

Hermies are ok in my book some of my best cobs are hermies something magic in the resin for sure.

Some are crazy strong and hold firm and then others are either mutants or they start to herm soon into flower. I just cut them and plant more seeds. I've got enough seeds to last me a lifetime so it doesn't matter if a plant doesn't make the cut. The best plant I've grown in a while came from a herm seed. Obviously I try to keep them out of the garden as much as possible but sometimes I want to see what's in that particular line. If there's anything good then I can always select the non Herms and pick traits to transfer to the next generation.
