Hi my friendMy next question is how much to make?
I've never had it before and don't know if I like it. But I'm willing to commit.
I've read the comments about how you wish you had made more.
I like the idea of storing and aging it but don't know what those limits are.
I have 6 strains - 7 plants some even seeded like Tang likes.
Is an ounce cob per plant way too much? Do a half ounce?
Or 2 ounces per plant, one the dryer cob and one the wet?
It's just me and the girlfriend. Flower and hash is how I've been handling it to this point.
It sounds like you can spare a few ounces of each from your hash stash.
At least an ounce as it helps the process if the cobs have a bit of meat to them.
I have cobs from 6 years back that still work fine. The oldest is 2017 ha ha.
Once the cure is to your taste dry and reseal them to age, they last a LONG time but like anything each has its primo age 2 to 3 years is my preferred age.
Post pics as you go and we can guide you. But I dont think you will need much guidance as your experience with both flower and hash will steer you on the right path I'm sure.
No my friend the salts are from the juice that is produced during the cure.
I'm no scientist and have no idea what they really are but I used to see them in traditionally grown and cured cobs in Central Africa.
Its like sugar crystals and vary in color from white all the way through honey and gold to deep red sometimes in the same cob.
All I know for sure is that it makes for a great euphoric result in the cob.
I'm just winding up a very successful 6 week fishing trip as I type this I'm all worn out and busted up from non stop fishing.
Had some huge battles with big sharks, they sure take it out of you I need a few months off now ha ha.

If you have never caught a large fish, you don't have much understanding just how physical it gets landing them.
Hope you got some fish for the freezer.

Amazing looking cobs @Baba Karuna! I always appreciate seeing the cobs you create, the visual quality of them is quite stunning, and I suspect the effects are the same... thanks for sharing.Opened up this cheese auto from seedsman yesterday. A very nice chew with deeply relaxing effects, centered and calm. Slightly fruity and hashy taste.

I'm looking forward to the day I can try making a cob, perhaps after this up and coming crop I can give it a try. I am 75 years old so I don't know how long I could age it but I will give it a go.
I have a couple of lung diseases and smoking is out of the question so I use edibles. It would be nice to try some cob without the cookie part just straight up cobbed cannabis. I have chronic pain and use cannabis for relief from the pain and etc. I also have a prescription for morphine that I've taken since 2010. Cannabis has helped me navigate my health issues, so I am always on the look out for ways to find relief from my chronic health problems.
Looking at your fishing adventures reminds me of my own, it would be physically impossible for me to land a fighting fish these days. Maybe a minnow
Is it possible already dried/cured buds could be cobbed? It doesn't sound like it, but will ask.
Too good Tang! Nice fish! Happy neighbor, happy life. Those we know aa grouper and ive never gotten one that big up. They go down to their coral head and break off. How many lbs or kgs the fishing line? I wasnt sure the best way, almost seemed to be to throw the boat in gear and pull it off the reef haha.

Wow - finally someone older than me !!!!!
I don't think it works very well with rehydrated weed. If you have a crop coming due soon you might as well give it a go!! I am "almost" totally edibles now - except for using the "One Hitter" just as a tester to figure out strength etc.I use the cob to make chocolates and Cococanna oil in capsules and my wife makes Ginger cookies with the oil.
Your right brother they pull like trains that one was returned to the water as anything over 1000mm is protected and that one went 1200mm
I use mono 50lb main line 100lb leader whole fresh squid.
We fish in 4mtrs of water here and big fish get the chance to run, nothing you can do to stop them ha ha.
High on cob its the trip of a life time.
Thats why I come up every 3 months for 4 to 6 weeks its Jurassic park in a zoo, sharks, whales, dugong, turtles and fish we see them all every trip its magic.
I'm 70 myself but on the right sativa cob I'm 16 every day although I do need 2 days off after each trip ha ha.
Just to clean the boat you understand ha ha.

I miss smoking some but have used edibles since 2010. Last cookie batch I had a strain that tasted like fried salmon, didn't care for that.
I am just going to start a crop. Need to get a couple chores done, so in the next few days will have seeds soaking.
I had a friend who use to say , "you got to be tough to grow old."

I only have used regular bud to make my cococanna oil and I have only used cob to make my chocolates. And having said that, Tang has told me that my indica weed is not as conducive "see what I did there, I used a big word!!" as the sativa for making cob. But even with my lesser weed the cob has more effect and longevity. I crumble the cob into chocolate chips and melt it down and then pour into chocolate molds. Then when I eat it I try not to swallow the chunks and chew them as long as possible. Until it is gone.
I also just chew a little cob but so far I don't like the taste and need a little dab of butter or margarine to kill the taste. Once the cob has matured you don't need to decarb. Hope this helps!!

I chopped my plant early first light on the 5th.
I hung it cut 3 days around the sweet spot of 60% - 60°
I chose a few branches of quality buds. I cleaned up beneath the A buds, saving the tops for flower.
I put the trimmed 30 grams into a Grove curing bag that I taped a hygrometer to the window.
Within a few minutes, we were up to 63%. Another 20 minutes 69%.
Seems a little high but it felt real good. So I was confidant.
I used a sushi roller to pre-form my cob.
I built my cob like I was making a cigar. A row of good buds along the length. Then, I packed the smaller pieces around it.
I gathered it into a mass. Making it narrower than the vacuum bag. And made my first roll.
Checked my progress, smashed in the ends, and made a second til pressing down hard.

I rolled it forward and then squeezed with my fingers. Rolled it back, tightened the roller, and then rolled it forward while squeezing.
I squished in the ends so that it would fit in the vacuum bag, maintaining that compression with my little fingers.
Here, I veered from the corn husk/parchment paper/ziploc wrappers.
These are authentic Crinklee cellophane 5"×5" sticky candy wrappers. They are not plastic.
They are recommended for wrapping and long-term storing of templeball hash. That's what I use them for.
This provides a somewhat see-through solvent/terpene barrier between the cob and the vacuum bag.
I'll be able to take it out, look at it, and change vacuum bags if necessary without losing as much sticky goodness.
I overlapped 2 of the cellophane wrappers and placed my cob preform in the middle.
At this point, I have squeezed down my flower bunch to about the size of a quarter or bit bigger
I folded in the ends and wrapped the cob in cellophane, and placed it at the bottom of the bag.
Inserting the bag in the foodsaver, I manipulated it, turning the machines vacuum on but stopping short of sealing it 3 times, squeezing and encouraging an even compression on the cob.
I ended with an evenly compressed 30 gram cob a little bigger than a nickel. It looks pretty good. I'm chuffed.
As you can see I took some advice here and some more advice over there. Added a little of my own. I'm really happy for my first one.
