Malawi Style Cob Curing.

Looking good Sforza you have to be happy with that color, I personally would stop fermenting semi dry it and reseal it to age, that way you will keep the golden look.
Sweating another 12 hours will darken the brick but also make the effects a lot deeper more inside your head. Both types of high will be awesome depending on the type of bud you used in the first place of course. But on color change alone you have a winner in my book.
Nice job my friend I love gold and orange cures the best and that looks like gold to me.

Thanks, Tangwena. I will get to it and begin the drying process right away and post pictures of the results.

Unfortunately, this is hybrid ganja, leaning towards the Indica side, so it will probably be a heavy high, not the the soaring highs you managed to coax from the sativas you grow and COB.

This is after fermenting for 23 hours. I have the COB drying overnight. It is sitting on a screen in an air conditioned room. The sweet fermented smell is wonderful. One issue, two of the corners were damp and started to expand. I trimmed them off. When I first removed the COB from the bag, I did not notice the COB being damp, but the inside of the bag was damp. Perhaps the moisture somehow was concentrated in the corners. The outside of the rest of the COB seems dry and solid. I will vac and seal the COB tomorrow morning.

When the product sweats it looses moisture like drying except this way also cures the bud while removing moisture, thats why you found the moist corners.
The condensate had collected there.
You will find the brick will dry quickly even though it appears damp it has lost most of its water.
Dont dry it 100% leave a slight moisture content when you seal it that way it will mature as it ages.
I'll be interested in your comparison once it has a bit of age compared to the high before curing this way. Nice job either way it looks like cured bud should.

Thanks Tang. I thought that the moisture had collected on the corners too. So I used a pair of scissors to remove the really damp sections, since I did not want that part to grow mold.

About 12 hours at 74 F and low humidity from using air conditioning left the compressed ganja dry on the surface but still resilient and apparently with some moisture left before I slipped it into a bag and applied the vacuum. Now to let it age for three months or so.

I've got a Spring crop coming down soon and I'll try cobbing again with 20 or 30 grams instead of 4 or 6 grams and I will cob them a day or two earlier than last time, Although I also had water in the corner of the bag, I don't feel the tiny cobs fermented for long enough (they were 24 ~ 36 hours in a sealed ghetto vacc-ed baggie at a constant 38 ~40C)..

Tang...How did you fishing trip go? Had a blast? Caught a couple? Drank a few? Blew away dozens with your cobs?

Hi my friend I thought you'd never ask ha ha.

The first trip was out of this world high on Panama cob we fished for only an hour and caught our limit of fish and all good size.
Some meter plus cod were returned to the water as over a meter you have to release them.
The only problem was on returning to the marina to retrieve the boat we were both still going up really fast on the chewed Panama and it took us ages to winch the boat up onto the trailer ha ha
It was like a comedy of errors, all the tourists watching us must have thought we were both off our heads, and we were ha ha

The best days fishing in a long time, my friend who is Buddhist was freaking out one minute he could kill the fish the next he was apologising to the fish for killing it.
Luckily I can laugh at such things, he told me today he was freaking out badly at the time and wasn't normally like that ha ha

I just gave him some of my new Zamaldelica cob, he always shows up when I am peaking. I had chewed my usual dose and after an hour was thinking "this isn't enough" when it hit me in a wave of power. Really strong just like I like it, I was seeing his thoughts, reading his mind I felt like a God,
I love pot like that that elevates you out of this world to watch from a distance detached for 8 or 9 hrs ha ha. Still high as a kite now 7 hours into it.

First pic the spot, 2mtrs deep and crystal clear.

Ha Ha bit of a close shave then he he. Its the first time in 30 years fishing that area that I have seen these cat fish, they must be new to the area.
We caught over half a dozen and they put up a good fight not slow at all.

Sounds awesome I wouldn't mind catching a few of those myself. Yeah theres nothing like stalking a wild fish, presenting a perfectly placed lure or bait and the seeing it react and strike.
When I am high I enjoy it the most, my favorite is sight fishing it really gets you pumped up seeing the quarry.

I'm finding that waiting on cobs to be ready is more torture than regular curing for me. at least with regular jar curing, I can see in the jarand see the buds. can't see these inside the husks. I'm dying to try these out... like most things with growing, patience is the key...

All well and good, but bottom line, how do the catfish taste?
I haven't had the guts to try them yet ha ha.
I will not be keeping any more until I know how good they are. I spent a couple of hours this morning catching bait fish on the beach.

I tried some 2 year old Mozambique cob its strong and quite good but apart from laughing at myself a lot nothing spectacular a bit like the Nev Haze cob really strong and long lasting but never out of control.

I like to loose control now and then and theres only a few that can manage to get me there. But for a nice stony day at the beach they are both hard to beat.

Here are some bud shots of Golden Tiger that I grew last year and some Panama x Malawi I grew 2 years ago, I haven't tried this for over a year so i am looking forward to tomorrow when I may get to try it and see if it has changed any.

That looks like a great time you're having there. You couldn't bribe me to go fishing for catfish with all the cob in the world :). The last time I fished for catfish, as a teenager, I caught a barb right in my ribs. Lets just say it hurts a hell of alot worse than catching a barb in your hand. And thats just it going in....

I feel for you these guys have three 4inch long barbs one on the dorsal fin a one each side of the head on the pectoral fins.
While doing its thing going crazy in the boat one barb penetrated
the carpet and the point stuck into the aluminium floor of the boat.
Not far but enough to get lodged, they are no joke especially when the fish is thrashing around with its barbs locked erect and doing its best to impale you.
We use pliers to cut the ends off the barbs before handling them if we are going to keep them.
These have a nice knack of being able to twist and turn enough to impale you even when holding them by the tail. So they had better taste good or they are just another fish you dont want to catch.
