Malawi Style Cob Curing.

@exploziv , the Panama is 6g and the SMH is almost 8g! I make my cobs very dense but only use them for eating.

This morning Mrs Dm took 0.11g and myself 0.3g, our daughter took 1g, but she's smoking weed all day every day and needs a good dose to cut through her tolerance. All 3 of us are very high.

As an interesting side note: Over on the UK4 site they have a monthly contest for the best photo. Somehow, unbeknown to me, a picture of a very red Panama cob I made has been entered and is currently in first place!. The cobbing thread that I'm involved with has really taken off and many are now chewing their first cobs and more are in the process of making them. It's exciting.

Yes, an increase in d9-THC would explain it and what I would have expected to see in the lab results. But that is not the case. They were high in THCA and low in d9-THC.

It seems like there are four reports in your post but it's just the same two reports posted twice. Is there maybe some issue with my web browser or could it be that you accidentally posted the "before" results twice?
Yeah everyone doesn't care about how things work and that's fine but personally I find it fascinating.

By early in the piece I assume you mean not cobbed very long. So that would mean the results match with people's experiences of a lengthy cobbing really improving the potency (at least when chewed/eaten).

That said, whether he did it wrong or right or not long enough, I would happily take a 34% increase in d9-THC in any weed.
Glad you understand my friend I just dont like to bullshit about things I cant prove, there is too much of that going on in forums.
I would get it properly tested if I was legally able but alas I am not.
But as I'm getting high myself along with others I consider friends and fellow cobbers it doesn't matter to me.
But I understand your need to know I just cant help in that department.

Holy crackers…

I’ve got a number of Autoflowers I am getting ready to cob..I’m assuming most at in the 15-20% THC range…Hybrids, unfortunately, but..I’m guessing they’ll be pretty decent to experiment with…

I just completed my first two..

Being new to cobs I’m surprised by the fact that the corn husks are as strong as they are for creating a pretty tight roll..Second, and not
so surprising..I’m a pretty tall guy with big hands so trying to put together these little “Herbal Jelly Rolls” is a bit of a Challenge. chuckle.
Hopefully, I have a bit of time tomorrow when the kids go back to their moms..😉

Night all… :)

Howdy Tangwena and fellow Cobbers..

Here’s is a quick snap of my first efforts..

It’s coming..slowly.

I recall a comment somewhere along the line that suggest cobs should be about the diameter of a “man’s junk”..(my words. 😉) assuming 1+” or so?

How thick are people making their cobs? The corn husks I have will likely make that 1” diameter a little more challenging to pack in..Are people layering in two cob husks to increase the volume they hold?

Thoughts?

yes, use extra cob leaves... more is better for not ripping, so you can cinch it tighter with some para cord or anything. I find the bigger ones are easier to mess up with being too wet, as the little ones change a lot from some air drying... but in the end i prefer a inch plus on finished (aged and dried) cobs.
good size for easy cinching....

Thanks gang..

Yes Reveg..Corn Husk (from the corn cobs themselves, as well as vacuum sealing..

We’ll see how it goes..

Putting in some of this bud..Hope
It turns out.

This bud was part of a breeding project I am working on with some Autoflowers.

Cheers

You can lay multiple husks overlapping each other or use one on the bottom pile on the buds then one over the top.
Also its just as good without any wrapper just rolled and vacuumed in the bag.
The husks are good though they have a waxy surface and the resin doesn't stick to them its like teflon.

i wrap almost as hard as i can to make it extra solid, this is maybe 30 lbs of pulling force if i can hack it through the actual wrapping, which is easy if you tie one end of the cord to something and, holding the cob in two hands, wrap towards the tied end while pulling back like on handlebars. the cob will let you know how hard you can pull. this is where extra leaves helps.
I do a primary wrap like above to get it in place first. this way you almost dont need the need the vacuum bag. Ive done it without. The last wrapping, after the sweat, is the most important for tightness as that is all youll get! :)

A few pics from along the way, including the plant it's from.
I started out a little too wet but tried to counter that by using low temps.so far, I'm very happy with how it's going and I'll definitely be doing it again!
Had a test vape of this last night; it's strong! Very up, very clear. Felt like I'd done a line or two!

Question…😉

I’m wondering if anyone has
done any research on the Decarboxylation of Cobs…particularly temps and time?

Does anyone know about decarb’ing at lower temps such as we are using when sweating and fermenting cobs?
Obviously, the cobbing process enables the conversion of THCA to THC and thus you can get high by ingesting…

Just haven’t found and commentary here..Does anyone know if I may have missed this in the thread?

Thanks
Toast
