An interesting comparison and contrast

Confucianism
~ from Confucius

Buddhism
~ from Buddha

Taoism (Daoism)
~ from Lao Tzu

Taoism

Taoism sees life as sweet due to it being fundamentally perfect in its natural state.

From the Taoist point of view, sourness and bitterness come from the interfering and unappreciative mind. Life itself, when understood and utilized for what it is, is sweet. That is the message of "The Vinegar Tasters".
— Benjamin Hoff,
The Tao of Pooh

In the vinegar tasters picture, Laozi's (Lao Tzu) expression is sweet because of how the teachings of Taoism view existence. Every natural thing is intrinsically good as long as it remains true to its nature. This perspective allows Laozi to experience the taste of vinegar without judging it. "Ah this," he might be thinking, "this is vinegar!" From such a perspective, the taste doesn't need to be sweet, sour, bitter or bland. It is simply the taste of vinegar. By openly experiencing vinegar as vinegar, Laozi acknowledges and participates in the harmony of nature. As this is the very goal of Taoism, whatever the taste of vinegar, the experience is good.

At the core of Taoist doctrine is the concept of the Tao or "the way". According to Taoist philosophy, everything originates from Tao. Tao is all embracing, existing anywhere and everywhere though it is invisible. It gives birth to the all, which then gives birth to everything in it. The Tao in this sense is the way of the everything, the driving power behind all.

Hi everybody,
Retired old cob rookie here, and a complete convert! I have been eating daily for amost three months now, and my cobs are around five months old.

Tangwena, my hat's off! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for bringing this old methodology out to us, and in an almost fail-safe version, at that!

For me personally, it is even more revolutionary than when I fell in love with the plant the first time - thirty years ago!

Since I started chewing daily, my health and outlook on life have really take a turn for the up'n up, and in fact I feel as invincible as I used to do when I was in my early twenties! :greenstars:

Here are a couple of my first attempts:
IMG_1355_cut.jpg

They all started out very nicely, being on the drier side and took a few days to sweat. They stayed light in color during the first several weeks, and the aromas were loud and heavenly.
But - during the second month or so, the colors darkened and the aromas faded. So I probably did not dry them out long enough after the sweat, or between re-seals.
Only a cob of Satori, and one Blue Dream have stayed somewhat golden/green. These are wonderfully tasty!

IMG_1357_cut.jpg

As the smells faded, they also turned from the fermented, tropical fruit type, into more dark chocolate, hashy, almost black liqourice. Still heavenly, but don't tickle all my senses as much as prior.

The Thai Chi has become my everyday morning medicine! I usually take a 0.3-0.4 g piece first thing at 6 am, and it puts me in a very good and happy mood, yet 100% functional - almost sober - and perfect for getting stuff done.

The morning ride lasts me a good 4-6 hours, which I find very impressive, considering that I didn't use very impressive flower to begin with. I had a problematic grow in many ways and most of the cobbed flower was fluffy if not completely unsmokable. So I reckon if i stop stuffing up my grows, I might be in for even way more fun in the future!

But already now, I love the effects, and tastes, and smells so much that I dont know the words to describe it! :jump:

Most days, I take a second piece sometime after lunch, and preferably once the day's tasks have been done. Taking a walk was never so rewarding and exciting! The colors never looked so good, and the contrasts were never this sharp!

Ok guys, thank you for reading! Time to go hiking.:whee:
See you soon!

Hey @Onboard

Since I started chewing daily, my health and outlook on life have really take a turn for the up'n up, and in fact I feel as invincible as I used to do when I was in my early twenties!

Although, until I have matured my new cobs, I have yet to try the chewing myself, I keep returning to the fact that cobbing/fermenting should be a serious and useful addition to the Medical Cannabis quiver of remedies.

Despite that, I am battling to find any information or studies on fermentation and medical use even after more than a few hours of searching. I keep hitting the recent slew of articles about production of cannabinoids from yeast fermentation. Nothing about fermentation and oral consumption for medical use. Just the (CBD) edibles which is not the same thing.

For folks who have never smoked tobacco or cannabis, and who do not want to start, surely this is an ideal and least damaging way of getting the medicinal benefits into the patient?

And then you add the long-lasting effects/relief nature of the fermented plant, the thc, the cannabinoids and the terpenes.

And as a final bonus, the clear-headed and motivationally-productive nature of the high-not-stone.

For people stuck in a wheelchair due to motor neurone decline, or those who suffer from persistent epilepsy, I couldn't imagine anything more effective or natural and organic to help make it through the day.

Wow, @Onboard , Tangwena Sensei will have tears of joy when he reads your post. I was having a day off from eating cob today (I had a big dose yesterday), but on reading your post I've gone and opened up some 5 month old New Caledonia and am chewing a gram as I type. I have tingles already!

Wow, I am honoured, dear Hombre DM, thank you so much!!
Just know I went straight to the kitchen for a 0.7g piece of NC2 myself to celebrate your initiative! :canabis:

Your own New Caledonia 1 plant may be the most gorgeous thing I have ever seen, plant wise!
Maybe one day I will myself be able to grow real proper sativas, too. Sure hope so, currently working my way up towards longer flowering times.

Hi TaoRich!
I couldn't agree with you more. Truly revolutionary stuff!

I have been thinking along those same lines, that the fermented bud seems to be ideal delivery device for our medicine. Much much easier than traditional edibles, thats for sure.
I think the sublingual part of the delivery is acually pretty quick and efficient! Perhaps enough to allow for an efficient self titration even for the cb-naive user?

Anyway, Good times!

@TaoRich , I thought as much with the Toa part. I'm a bit of a Taoist myself and a Tai chi player.
Thats interesting man I have always had an interest in Tai Chi.
I practiced Wado Ryu Karate most of my life and one of my esteemed instructors was into it along with his Karate.
Great way to get into the universe through movement control I love performing kata slowly while high on Cob especially the Mulanje you can get deep inside the energy flow its mind blowing.
Well most everything is on Mulanje cob ha ha but its what I love doing.
Its so great to have this key to the natural wonders of the world we are all loosing due to the pressures of modern life.
Its amazing how we can get pleasure from the smallest simplest things we normally never notice.

Wow, thank you Onboard.

The new New Caledonia cob is working nicely now. Mrs DM caved in about 2 hrs ago and had 0.16g. 0,16g is nothing and she's as high as a kite!

I hope also that one day you are able grow "the real thing" too.
Thank you Hombre, I had a blast too! I was in a super good mood all night, although pretty disoriented at times, he he! A bit tired yesterday, but today I'm back at nineteen again! :giggle:

No I can completely understand Mrs DM!

Because I seem to be a bit of a lightweight myself, and tend to do best in the 0.3-0.4g range so far. A bit of a ceiling issue maybe? Dont know if it is due to me or my current batch of medicine, but I do intend to try and figure it out! One of these days ;)

I'm a 0.3-0.4g person it seems. Had an extra tiny little bit of fresh on top today and it put me down like I've not been for years -in a good way😂

Thank you so much brother! And thank you for the nice close-ups!

That putting the spark back in life. Truer words have never been spoken. And that was exactly why i got hooked on reading this thread in the first place. And wanted to try it for myself. And I am telling you: It all delivered just that!
I won't even try to describe the contrast between the bright spark, and the down state of mind I mind been stuck in, for years. Thankful doesn't even begin to describe it!!

Yes, no kidding - I am totally onto the quest of keeping the terps from now on! But at the same time, I do love me the darker smells, too! Anyways, I am more than happy to keep working with these heavenly smells!

I have been using 2-3 hr bursts @ 35C in the dehydrator for drying, but it seems I have been too quick to put them back into vac-bags and heat again. So for now I am trying 4-6hr bursts. Plus keep drying out the old ones in the meantime.

Tangwena, about how long would you usually set the dehydrator before you go back and check?

Actually I am entering the "dry to 90%" phase for my second run, as we speak. Most of them are at the point of being dried out right now:
IMG_1752cut.jpg

These are Panama x Bangi Haze, which I started drying out last week, and today again. Because the lemon smells are starting to fade into more chocolate/hashish/liqourich.

The four to the left look to be a more Panama pheno and were cut down at 11 weeks, and the three on the right looked more Bangi Haze and were taken at 10.5 weeks. All except the brownest one have a faint but very elegant lemon custard smell still remaining. But it was louder just a few days ago, so more drying now.

They were hung dry five days, except the third one from the right was hung 3 days. Fermented at 40C for ca five days, then 30-35C for two weeks maybe by now.

Ok, thanks again! See you soon everybody :smoke:

EDIT: Added hours to dry bursts. Plus made the post even longer, ha ha!

That Mulanje sure has made some ripples already. As soon as I saw Mulanje mentioned I jumped onto a pack of Pinapple Banana Bud from Vermont Seeds, (plus a pack of Vermontmans Zacateca Tribute), which I intend to grow out very soon. No idea if it is in anyway related to your Mulanje, but I knew I had to get it!

Thank you for all the inspiration and knowledge, brother Tangwena!
