Ha ha the only thing worse than sleeping with the fishes, would be swimming with the sharks.

On behalf of all ICMAG readers who still have much to learn about the art of fine cob making, I hereby impose a state-of-emergency law that forbids Tanwena from snacking on cobbed weed while trying to launch a fishing boat.

:tiphat:I try to give a lil back

those who have no vacuum sealer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5N9dOvrpHA
there are more vids...

And take my advice,
deeper water and one or two straws in the plastic bag pointing from bottom to the opening @top,
that works, air channel wise.

Or go another way chepo, will report when stuff arrives.

Hi Palmero intersting video, very clever, not sure if it will evacuate enough air but interesting never the less. I have a freshly made cob under the seat of my car which is parked in the sun all day, I sweated it that way and it is now curing in the warmth for 3 weeks. I cant wait to open it and see how good the cure worked this way. We are always learning.

Sounds like an awesome way to sweat a cob Tang. Ill have to steal that idea from you and try it myself soon. Ive got Durban Poison hanging in the closet almost ready to be cobbed. Please let me know how it turns out for you! :)

Hi my friend thanks for posting the pictures of your cob, very nice colors it looks as if you got a good sweat, I am sure the cure will be good. Once it has aged a few months it will be at its peak, although its fine to smoke it right now, you can expect a much nicer high later.
Nicely done. Its always good to see others results they are all unique. Sorry just noticed you say its 2 months cured already, into it brother.

Hi Dave here is the cob after sweating in a zip lock bag in closed car on a warm day for 24 hours, then vac sealing and left in the same car for 8 days.
This is freshly opened and wet, you can see the yellow juice staining on the plastic vac bag. The cob will be now semi dried then vac sealed and left to age for 2 to 3 months. This worked very well in the hot conditions in the car during the day.
I will use this method again the cob smell sickly sweat and sticky, so once aged she will be a beauty.

The cob was re wrapped and dried until the maize skin was dry to the touch. It was moist coming out of the vac bag. The inside buds would not have dried much from this drying. It is now ready for vac sealing and aging for 2 to 3 months.

I did not pick up on the secondary sweat. I will definitely add that step. It will be full on summer here when next crop is ready, hope my car doesn't toast up my Cobb!

Panama cob

Panama cob

This is the same Panama cob above vac sealed and sweated a further week in the hot car.
The cob has been rebound after allowing the maze husk skin to touch dry, then vac sealed for a further week in the hot car.
The color is changing to a red/chocolate color, and the smell even sweater than the last opening. I am hoping to get a really dark compact hard cob after the third week. Note the yellow staining on the vac bag, it indicates how wet the cob is when sweating.

Probably mostly aspergillus. Dont give it to patients with compromised immune systems and dont eat it. Otherwise have fun.
I take it you have some experience at least, or are you just shooting in the dark. The later most likely, ignorance is bliss my friend you just keep talking some one will believe you ha ha.

i have high interest in this curing method tangwena, reminds me of some of the old school herb id get rarely back in the day. we viewed it as low grade, but still interesting none the less. you have some really interesting threads.

but from the looks of the last picture, the brown soil looking-like clump in the picture does look quite rotted if it is infact organic plant material. have you had it analytically tested for accuracy that this IS infact a safe method of curing? send a small sample to SClabs or Steep Hill

Cannabliss420 the cross section is misleading once broken apart the individual buds separate and you can see they are just shriveled not rotted at all, merely cured.
I will post a picture of the cob bud pulled apart. As for testing it others can go through that, I am not trying to sell anything here, just show the way others cure their smoke. It is not sacrilegious to do something different, after all if you grew up in Africa you would know how paranoid all this talk of mold ect is. But I am pushing shit up hill with some people.
Just stick to whatever method you feel comfortable with and all will be fine. Once it was heresy to say the world was not flat. So I can understand people doubting that this is a viable method, but for those who have tried it and know, its a joke my friend.
