Malawi Style Cob Curing.

I did just that. I sealed it back up and put it back in my sweat box. The temps are averaging 80-85F. Is that too warm for an extended cure?
No my friend I actually use a similar style of cure on very airy sativa buds when I am after the golden cure.
It usually results in a very aromatic yellow cure that tastes and smells amazing. The highs are very up beat and very different from the deep lysergic highs from the darker cures.
In these pics you can see the darker cob cure and then the Golden cure one of my favorite styles of curing, you should be in for a treat.

Maybe I missed this

- How much weight do wet buds lose? (wet=2 day dried)
- Does the weight loss continue after a 2 month cure?

I want to make 1oz finished cobs.

Neiko, how "fresh" were your buds?
Its very difficult to predict finished weight I would sell them by the gram like you buy salami you can get them close but due to unknowns like water loss its never going to be exact.
I would not have a problem buying a slice of this cob or that cob especially for tasting purposes.

How does one get that golden cure Tangwena? I'll be taking my Carnival in a couple weeks. They tend to cure golden anyway, so I'd like to replicate that with the cobs.

Stage made a little video, in his excitement. Thought I'd share it here, but I don't know how to load in a video. I can give you the YouTube address, if that'll help. https://youtu.be/nDZOQ1tnh0U

It warms my heart to see them take to the task with such passion and creativity. See why I'm so devoted to them? :eyelash:

Thats amazing I will have to pat him on the back ha ha.
I cant wait to see subsequent episodes maybe when he has chewed it after a couple of hours ha ha that I would pay to see.
seriously though that blew me away.
I will do a montage of pics when I cure my next lot especially the Golden Tiger golden cure. I have a some seeds of the 3rd mix of Golden Tiger it would look nice as a golden cob I think.

Ha Ha yes it gets to you after a while doesn't it?

By 3 months this is going to be so clear and trippy I can only imagine the feeling of bliss it will produce.
As it is I want to hug everyone when I go for a walk in the mornings. It feels like a universal love drug its blowing my mind.

I have either panama x malawai, malawi x panama or panama x tikal coming along and they will be cobbed! Ace tropical mix pack hehe.
3 weeks in 7 to go my first grow ever and i can not wait to contribute. I will use my dehydrator since it has a heat dial for accuracy!

Here is a pic

Keep the pics coming my friend but there is no way in the world that has 7 weeks to go my friend, it hasn't even started full on flower yet.
Start counting from the first real flowers and then you will have something worthy of cobbing.
The more mature the flowers the higher you will go and if its too strong you take less. But start with the best you can get.
Its worth the wait and may change your life forever.

Il’l start the countdown clock when they start full flower like you suggest.

Have you tried malawi x panama cob before? If so im interested in the effects, very much.
I cant get good sativas around here, only hybrids so i am really looking to make a dream experience with these cobs and fly to the moon :) with my enano vape i will probably have enough to last me QUITE a long time.

They really should send you a referral check for the amount of new customers going to ace genetics hHahaha.

Johnhova, I grew out Aces Tropical Mix once before, and the females are going to require at least 90 days of flowering. Up to 120 days is not out of the question either.

Hi my friend thats the spirit if you want the real deal effects you need the real deal buds to begin with.
I have grown the panama x Malawi which is supposed to be the weaker of the two so the one you have should get you there and back easily I would say. Anything with Malawi in it has what it takes.
Also Dubi sends me enough free seeds as it is as testers. I haven't bought any for years hes very generous.
I have about 6 or 7 testers I haven't got to yet. But what can I do? Everything I grow is superb.

The Panama x Honduras has all my friends raving the 3 month old cobs smoke smells of sweet hash very dense and its a one hit wonder as well.
Two hits and your off on some urgent business you just remembered.
Lighting a joint and passing it around is the fastest way to clear a room I tell you!
Everyone needs some fresh air after the 2nd hit it hits so fast it scares people but then they come back tripping of their faces and hug me they love it that much.
I am having to ration those cobs and the Panama a real stinker like Pakistani hash thats another one I am rationing.
You see what I mean every ones a winner.

If you could feel my heart race every time I hear you recount some cob adventure. Lol!

Thought I’d stop and share some pictures with the crew that made it happen. These are the Malawi cobs and canaries after three weeks curing.

A little close up of sparkles on the largest cob.

At three weeks they’re more energetic than euphoric, but that’s not a bad thing. Lol! I have a lot to get done. If I can learn to pace myself it’ll be easier to get it all done. I keep chewing bits a tad too big and that tires me out by midnight when I’m typically up until 3.

I’ll be back with more pictures in a few days when another cob gets opened.

Lovely cobs Sue the close ups tell the story.
Thats nice resin once its aged a bit it will be very special.
If thats Aces Malawi which some people think is a tad too narcotic either you got a special plant or more likely you cured it properly to get that energy boost.
I never stop being amazed how you can cure pot to bring out a stone or trippy or speedy effect. Well done that cobs on the way to perfect.

It is being difficult for me lately to get the same effects as in the past, to get to "something" I have to smoke like 3-4grams of buds. Haven't sampled it yet, will next week.

I am not familiar with the strain but will be interesting to hear your comparisons.

I knew you'll like the time-lapse like presentation  yep, it instantly highlights the (even subtle) changes.

Next Monday will chew for my first time... never did edibles, high ;) expectations... guess it's my 10 year tolerance plus just passing a rough patch: these last two weeks nothing seemed to get me high more than a slight, bland, short-lived (20, 30 minutes) buzz.

I hope this strain is strong enough for you. If you cant get high I would blame the weed.
You may need to get some stronger weed. You are in Spain I believe get some seeds from Ace they will get you off I am sure. Panama, Golden Tiger and Zamaldelica I have not met anyone who doesn't get high from those.
When you try chewing weigh a half a gram to try your tolerance may be too high so you need a good size piece especially if its not strong weed.
Good luck my friend I wish I lived near you I could make sure you got high very easily ha ha.

I think there are several things going on...

First, I think I did a disservice to these plants, it wasn't a smooth grow, half the gpw I used to get (around 0.6, while on previous ones I hit 1gpw easily).

I've reviewed my mistakes and tried to improve on everything.

Secondly, it has happened to me in the past, sadness seems to counteract THC, at least for me. (I'm a happy camper now!)

And finally... from my experience sativas need at least one month curing to develop its effects... and I've run through half of previous crop already... and it's now when the month curing mark arrived :spank:

Yesssss!

Kali China (fem) - Zamaldelica
Zamaldelica - Nepal Jam - Nepal Jam
Tai Chi (fem) - Guawi (fem)

a reg Violeta (sowed two but one didn't make it) is vegging, and two fems, Panama and Malawi have just sprouted.

Zamaldelicas had some leafs burnt, they ran into the CFLs at the vegging tent.

Tent is a work in progress, just received the rest of materials I needed to finish it today.

Stocked on reg Honduras, Ethiopian and Lebanese, will sow these soon to grow some trees outdoors.

Will do that!

I know! and really appreciate ;) :tiphat: :thank you:
